Avatar m tn Can someone please tell me what other creams do the same job as fucidin cream, I want an OTC cream for folliculitus on my penis? The active ingredient is fusidic acid 2%. The other ingredients are butylhydroxyanisole (E320), cetyl alcohol, glycerol, liquid paraffin, polysorbate 60, potassium sorbate, purified water and white soft paraffin.
Avatar f tn I recently called in a old prescription for mupirocin 2% ointment. My question is if I use it as directed will it help clear up these ugly bites? Summer is coming up and I don't want my legs to look bad this summer please help and let me know if the cream will work!
Avatar m tn Hello, You should not tear open the scars and just apply some mupirocin cream followed by creams containing vitamin E for the scarring. The white scar could be due to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn Yes all dairy also oranges are high in calcium as well. I have a glass of milk every morning and have a couple of tums each day because of heartburn. You could always take a calcium supplements. There are chocolate chews if you don't want the pills.
Avatar m tn But no fungal cream ever worked. The only cream that worked was Mupirocin 2% - fast forward today, I was masturbating and its always triggered by friction and this thing came back. However it seems like I was too late in the getting the cream this time because whatever infection is happening isn't going down. Here are my symptoms below...
Avatar m tn The first doctor (my PCP) did a swab and determined bacteria growth and prescribed me Mupirocin 2% topical ointment. The redness did go down but not completely away. The second doctor (a dermatologist) which I saw almost a year later (more recently) also did a swab and found bacteria growth. He prescribed me Desonide 0.05% for 10 days, along with Cephalexin 500mg (3x/day) for 2 weeks. After the 10 days, I went on Mupirocin for 5 more days.
Avatar f tn How much calcium do you have a day? My prenatal pills don't have calcium and I heard I'm supposed to have 2 glasses of milk a day. I don't drink milk so I've been doing 2 glasses of oj with calcium.

Avatar m tn i have noticed sores in my penis shaft near where the glan starts on retracting my foreskin. These are small reddish sores and I have been applying mupirocin since yesterday. There has been no reduction . Initial I had itching in my penis. But now the sores feel slightly stinging when I pull back the foreskin. Is this the right medication. How long will it take.to heal.
Avatar m tn When I went to a urologist, he told me the skin test pretty much said I had a bacterial infection and told me to continue taking a cream called Muripocin. I woke up this morning and noticed little bumps on my foreskin that were itchy. When I touched them a little bit of water came out. What could this be?

Avatar f tn Frozen yogurt or ice cream. Also broccoli is quite high in calcium. Try broccoli with nacho cheese. Yum.
Avatar n tn Just refrain from touching the areas and keep the area clean and moisturized always. Applying an antibacterial cream such as mupirocin on the area may help. Do not touch other areas of the body after touching these areas. Wash your hands often. Other differentials may be a dermatitis or a sweat rash.
Avatar n tn Be extremely careful about personal hygiene. Application of antiseptic washes may help prevent recurrences. A topical antibiotic cream, mupirocin (Bactroban®), has been effective at reducing bacterial colonization in the nostrils. It is applied twice daily for a week and is repeated every 6 months. After the lesions have healed you could try waxing. Let us know if you need any other information and consult a skin specialist if the lesion is persistent. Regards.
Avatar n tn Hi, thanks so much for your reply. I do wash the area regularly and I have E45 cream, and Hydrocortisone cream (for a tiny patch of eczema on my finger!) - would either of these help? The rash isn't sore or dangerous-looking, just not very attractive.I'm pretty sure I can rule out sebaceous cysts - from the pictures on the internet, anyway, as they look to be occuring on their own, and they are much bigger than what I have. And they stand out from the skin.
Avatar n tn She prescribed Valacyclovir 10 mg tablets, her anti-viral, takes three per day for seven days, also prescribed Mupirocin 2% for the blisters and Hydrocodone/APAP, SMG/325mg Tabs for pain. Recommended if pain is unbearable to go to the ER for possible admitance to Hospital and intravenious pain care. So far she has slept a lot. Thanks for your help.
Avatar n tn Will it be caused due to calcium deficiency? Why I am asking is because I was lactose free for a year and it started after that. If not what are the causes? How can it be treated topically without any oral pills? My hand finger nail hurts so much. I keep trimming it and it keeps growing hard and it looks ugly too. Please help.

Avatar n tn Wash the area with warm water and keep it dry and clean at most times. Apply mupirocin, an antibacterial cream over the area once daily and see if this responds. After 5 days, if this does not respond, have your doctor see this. If discharge is present and if the bumps increase in number, then we may need oral antibiotics for this.
Avatar m tn There is an antibiotic cream you physician can prescribe for MRSA. I cannot remember the name of it off hand. I believe it starts with a B sorry I'm not more help to you. If I think of it I will message you.

Avatar f tn Because I cant drink milk or anything but can eat ice cream. I've been craving ice cream a lot and its because I'm not getting enough calcium and that's what my baby girl needs right now. I wish I could be "normal" and eat yogurt or drink milk but the taste has always made me sick. I like cereal but can't have milk with it. I don't eat a lot cheese either.

Avatar m tn Last year I had an outbreak on my lips and my doctor said it was impetigo. They put me on an oral antibiotic but then the symptoms did not subside after a few days leading them to think it was HSV1 and they prescribed Valtrex. After a few days and some rest it went away and scabbed over. Note: The bumps on my lips went across the entire lip, oozed a yellowish- clear liquid, and then scabbed and healed.
Avatar f tn s not bad now but I would like to treat it on my own, and I still have some Mupirocin 2% topical cream left. Will this work? Again I would like to avoid the doctor again because I am an 18 year old girl and I'm very embaressed about this.... Please respond ASAP. THANK YOU. HM.
