Mri scan elbow

Common Questions and Answers about Mri scan elbow

mri-scan

Avatar f tn The doctor said it is a bone bruise. On he Mri it showed white in the middle of the elbow joint. The doc noticed that her inside one (bone) is out a little farther than the other one. He took her restrictions off and told her to use it and is going to put her in physical therapy. The more she uses it the more it hurts and the joint swells up. If she doesnt use it it is ok. My question is should I seek a second opinion or go to the physcial therapy and try that?
Avatar f tn Because of the pressure I injured my elbow. The doctor took XRay scan of my elbow (twice - one each week) and advised me to be in crape bandage plaster for one week. Last week he told me that he cannot see the fracture and hence asked me to remove the plaster and start exercising But I have stiffness in my arm because of which i am not able to stretch it completely. When I apply pressure (using my other hand ) to straighten it up, it hurts.
Avatar n tn Yes, you definitely need to go and get an MRI or CT scan. If you're still having symptoms like blurry vision it may be more serious than you think. Go get a head scan ASAP!! good luck.
Avatar n tn After a x-ray showed nothing, a MRI w/out contrast was performed. Upon receiving those results a MRI w/ contrast was preformed. It revealed he has a mass in three bones in his elbow. He also showed problems with his bone marrow. Long story short cancer could not be ruled out. They did blood work and his WBC, MCH, MCV, MPV and Platelet counts are high. His RBC is low. Does this conside with cancer?????
Avatar f tn I have had pain in my right elbow for many years. I have had a MRI scan on my neck some years ago, but nothing showed up. Consequently, no treatment was offered. Later I decided enough is enough, so I saw my GP again. She suggested I take Amitriptyline to help me sleep through the pain. I only get a very low dose -25Mg. I decided to stop taking them recently, as I did not like the idea of taking Antidepressants for a non-depressive condition, but the pain is now back worse than ever.
Avatar f tn The pain in his left elbow has returned. He has undergone multiple nerve conduction, emg, mri of the legs, arms, neck, brachiel plexus, blood work, etc. According to Drs, we are now just waiting for the "disease to declare itself". After 18 months, we need answers, good or bad. The only thing mentioned recently is possibly ALS. Where do we go from here?
465775 tn?1268454288 Nothing specific makes it lock it just happens very randomly. I have had an MRI scan and a CT scan on the elbow both came back clear. I also had a key hole exploratory operation on it with nothing found and yet it continues to lock and hurt when it does so. Any idea what it could be would be most appreciated?
Avatar f tn Do you think it is the beginning of als?? I don't know why I'm nervous all of the sudden. I have had this for a long time and it hasn't gotten any worse. Most days I don't even notice it.
Avatar f tn My son has had arm pain, below the shoulder, above the elbow for five months now. He has had 4 xrays, an MRI, and a bone scan, and they can not give me a diagnosis. Been to PT numerous times. They said he had little league shoulder, a broken shoulder, a large calcium deposit, nerve damage, he had a cortisone shot in his joint, (with no change), every time I take him they can not give me a diagnosis, then change what they think it is. I took him to the chiro, he has had cupping done.

650397 tn?1228831384 Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing and what were the results of your MRI scan.
Avatar m tn You can also let his doctor know, but he/she most likely will not have the equipment needed to see if your father had a stroke or not (be able to do the testing like an MRI or CT scan). Let us know how he does.
Avatar f tn Regarding anatomy, you stated the lump is a couple of cm's above the elbow bone on the ulna. However, the bone above/proximal to the elbow is the humerus, whereas the bones below/distal to the elbow are the radius and ulna.
Avatar f tn I had a cervical MRI and the results are posted below. I will only see my doc in few weeks and the latin words are scary to me. Symptoms are neck pain, attrocuous pain in right shoulder, and tingling in top of forearm into the index and middle fingers, cold (cavity) feeling in my elbow. **** Findings: The craniovertebral junction is normal. No signal anomaly in the cord. The bony alignment is normal. The bone marrow is unremarkable. C2-C3: No hernia. No spinal or foraminal stenosis.
Avatar f tn If PET scan is normal, it means all the areas of the brain are taking up good amount of sugar. This is rare with a lesion. An MRI which is normal can confirm the findings of a normal PET scan. The slow build up may not significantly alter the amount of sugar uptake. The PET scan should be ideally interpreted by a Radiologist, preferably a Neuroradiologist. PET scan and EEG are two different procedures, running on two different principles.
Avatar f tn Yesterday I received an email from my doctor stated a finding in my CT scan. CHIARI MALFORMATION 1. MRI tomorrow to confirm. I had an MVA 2 months and I have trouble focusing, blurred vision, headaches, and back pain. Thinking it was post accident but reading the s/s I realized it. I have vertigo and neck pain for 3 years too. I'm nervous and scared of how my future would look like.
Avatar m tn I would suggest with neck and shoulder pain that you probably need an MRI scan to see if there's pressure on the nerve or something. A more complete evaluation may open up other treatment options for you.
Avatar f tn She is a high level competitive gymnast and was just diagnosed with OCD in the right elbow. The MRI shows a 8x8.5mmdefect on the capitellum of osteonecrosis and a displaced fragment of lent inform shape anterior in the joint. There is a small joint effusion. This is about 5 weeks of rest for the arm. She has no pain, or grip issues with day to day movement. Range of motion is full on extension and minor change on flexion. What would you recommend? Is surgery automatic because of th loose body?
Avatar m tn It all started on Feb 17, 2014 (about 6wks ago) I was doing really heavy 1-arm preacher curls (which is nothing unusual for me to do.) But Once i started my 3rd set, i felt this pain through my right elbow. It was like it was very deep or in the back side of the elbow. I couldn't really finish my bicep workout...just continued with very light light weight. The pain has been identical since that day, no worse or better. Day to to day activities i don't feel it.
Avatar m tn when I pull my wrist back the muscle below my elbow tightens up and my entire lower arm goes numb. If I pull my arm behind my back, my upper arm will go numb. My thumb is still "hyper sensitive" and tingles all day. I have weakness in my hand. The muscle below my elbow will jump around a lot and cause my thumb to twitch and move. I can't grasp papers and my thumb and forefinger and things generally feel very heavy when I use that hand versus my right hand.
Avatar f tn Hi Spiderlaura, Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am glad that you found us but sorry to hear about your elbow pain. The elbow is a very busy joint and we use it more than we consciously realize. Three long bones join at the elbow and there are tendon, ligaments and three major muscles. There are many conditions that can effect any of those structures.
Avatar f tn Severe pain in the back of my neck and then it can follow down my left arm and elbow to my hand. I feel like I am loosing strength on my left side. Hurts to even lift my arm to blow my nose. I have severe pain on the inside of my elbow. Had a C5-C6 neck fusion done about 10 yrs. ago. Hospital done a CT scan when in ER and this is what the report says: There is no evidence of an acute fracture or subluxation.
Avatar n tn X-ray is must, but it will tell about the condition of the bone. To know about the muscle pathology, i would suggest you to do the MRI scan and then proceed to an Orthopaedician.
Avatar n tn I have no visable skin issue but I have pain under the surface of the skin on the outer side of the foreare just ahead of the elbow. It is generally fine except when I lean on the elbow when it sends a hot shooting pain through the area. The seems to be a real sensitive point behind the elbow that sends a line of pain through the forearm area. The surface of the skin where it is sore underneath also feels a little numb.
539750 tn?1226521677 I have an MRI of my elbow with 2 black circles.
1111519 tn?1270054088 So I ended up paying for my own MRI scan of my head and neck. The head scan came back fine, but the neck report said "borderline bulky lymph nodes are suspected along the anterior cervical chain superiorly on both sides and there are posterior cervical lymph nodes visible on both sides, left greater than right." My GP is now sending me for an abdominal ultrasound on the 5th of March.
Avatar f tn I'm confused! Findings on MRI show alignment normal, no fracture, no malignant marrow infiltration, no cord lesson or compression But minimal disc bulges noted from c3-c7. Then it says normal MRI? How it's it normal of I have bulging discs from C3-C7? What am I missing? I have pain from middle of right shoulder blade, all down right arm, horrible pain in elbow, shoulder, and wrist. Hard to type, write, work and I'm scared it's permanent.
1113790 tn?1258651914 Hi, The symptoms are due to injury to the Ulnar nerve. The site of injury could be the elbow or the wrist. You have mentioned that MRI of the arm from shoulder to the elbow is normal, so the site of damage could be the wrist. The weight may have fallen on the upper arm and shoulder, but some impact could have been taken by the wrist as well leading to the nerve injury. Please go for MRI of the hand from elbow upto the fingers and consult a neurologist for diagnosis and treatment.
