866647 tn?1283979365 We were thinking of imposing this poem on top of a black and white image of a MRI brain scan showing demyelination. Are you willing to contribute your MRI scan to this project? We'll be creating t-shirts to raise money for our myelin repair research.
20826743 tn?1525485251 I examined my brain scan images from my MRI physician. My question is about a white area length measured 0.29cm and wide measured 0.23cm outside the Telencephalon's circumference. The approximate location is upper right degree 80 from the X-axis on top section scan. There is laboratory report and experiment done about the micro-electrode array. Q1. Can I be planted this possible micro-electrode array without I noticed? Q2.
3054080 tn?1358722856 My son made a very interesting observation because this image does appear to be (and believe me, I am far from an expert and it is all Greek to me) of the left side of my brain because it is toward the end of the scan. The image in question is image 27/30. Anyway, I hope you all are doing well and have a great holiday weekend!
Avatar m tn The vice versa is true for MRI. MRI can produce images in any plane but CT scan cannot. CT scan uses X-ray imaging whereas MRI uses radio waves and magnets. Radiation exposure is moderate in CT scan and there is no radiation exposure in MRI. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else. Take care!
1448748 tn?1312956208 The first line diagnostic is usually CT scan. They are fast and simple. MRI has complex sequences and the derived computer generated image is not anatomically referenced. Anytime accuracy is required, like surgical films or radiation therapy planning, CT is used. Since CT is a real image, everything is rendered anatomically correct. Most hospitals have 1.5T or 3T MRI. The .7T Open MRIs and 1T units are usually in the imaging centers.
Avatar n tn Gave me levequin for a week. Went back and they did an MRI with contrast and a **** load of bloodwork. The mri came back with a developmental venous angioma on the corpus collusum. ANY IDEA"S what this alll means. Also bloodwork is pending. They are suspecting lyme deasease any idea's.
Avatar m tn would anybody else like this forum to host a categorized image library of MRI scans--various processes (T1, T2, PD, etc.) and axial and saggital views of both the brain and the spine? I don't even know if it's possible to do that here, but it would be interesting for my curiosity (and, OK, to satisfy propensity to try to self-diagnose while I'm in limbo).
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome, Your post has come up on the MS community and the opinions 'here' are not professional but personal opinions from our own knowledge and experiences and if you're really looking for a professional opinion you may need to post your question in the neurology doctor forum, which you will find at the top of your screen under 'Forums'.
Avatar f tn ) a pituitary patient, and knowing many, a normal scan actually does not rule it out. Did you have a brain scan or a pituitary scan? Was it dynamic (and by that I mean with and without contrast, the contrast given so that you were NOT removed and images taken while the contrast given). If it was not dynamic, it was not a proper pituitary MRI. Plus many a radiologist can miss a smaller lesion, sadly. Any other hormonal testing of the pituitary?
1539272 tn?1292858201 My spine MRI just came back without lesions, so my neurologist wants to turn me back to my physician, who has no other brilliant ideas. Should I request brain MRI or anything? Or just wait silently until something more specific happens? Thanks, Mrs.
Avatar f tn Can you please explain my MRI of the brain done with and without contrast please: On T2 weighted and FLAIR sequences, there are multiple subcentimeter round ovoid foci of high signal in the right frontal lobe periventricular white matter, in addition to several subcentimeter lesions in the periventricular and subcortical white matter in the left frontal lobe and the subcortical white matter in the posterior right frontal lobe.
7948950 tn?1421652729 Here is the other mri scan that I have. You can see a bit more of it. It also shows how my neck curve is "straightening". Just trying to find answers as to why I'm having so many symptoms. Any advice would be great! Thank you!
Avatar m tn A magnetic resonance angiogram (MRA) is a type of magnetic resonance image (MRI) scan that uses a magnetic field and pulses of radio wave energy to provide pictures of blood vessels inside the body
1453990 tn?1329231426 By the way, I have non human test image off a 7 Tesla MRI. They are trying to improve the radio receiver on this research MRI, because there is more than enough signal, but the receiver is still introducing noise into the signal data set. Keep in mind, that these are not real images like and x-ray or a CT scan.
Avatar f tn I am a 33-yr-old with chronic pain and chronic fatigue. MRI scan today was to follow up on possible seizure activity viewed on EEG during sleep study (polysomnography). I have not spoken to my doctor, but my father (a radiologist) insists that all of the images look "normal". I am not feeling so confident. Can anyone please give me some feedback on this image, PROP T2 TRF?
1218873 tn?1300091216 t completely answer your question, but I do know that they do image the brain step when they do a cervical spine MRI. Weather or not it is a better image I do not know.
Avatar m tn You should always inform the operator of any metal in your body for an MRI scan. These work on a different principle and use very large magnets which can seriously heat up metal in the body, causing tissue damage.
336289 tn?1399535855 I am trying to find out answers for my recent MRI scan of my head. I have been going through my images and found this image that looks abnormal. There is not a mention of it on the radiology report. I am asking if anyone can please take the time to help me figure this out. Here is the image link: http://www.medhelp.org/user_photos/show/481902 I look forward to anyone that can help me with this and thank you in advance!
Avatar f tn When you view the MRI of the brain on the computer screen, is the image reversed? My largest lesion appears in the upper left, so I assumed it was the left frontal lobe. Today the neuropsychologist kept referring to the right frontal lesion, so he was either mistaken or I've been viewing the images backwards. Are the MRI slices made from the top of your head looking downward . . . or are they made from the bottom looking upward??
Avatar f tn Headaches after a brain injury can also be due to concussion, and normally CT and MRI are normal. However, yes, MRI should be done to rule out brain injury as the cause. Stress due to concussion and brain injury can also be the cause. Also get your blood pressure checked. Take care!
Avatar n tn I had a brain mri scan for recurrent 'auras' thought to be due to migraine. The result of the scan came back normal except for a few spots of plaques. I am 50, is this normal? I am concerned that it is indicative of early degeneration associated with dementia.
Avatar n tn Brain scan with axial T1, axial PD T2 fat-saturation. C-spine scan with sagittal Ti and T2 plus axial graded echo. REPORT: Multiple small nodes are seen in the neck, particularly in the left anterior triangle. These are not large enough to be particularly worrisome. Brain appears normal without evidence of mass, abnormal enhancement, abnormal signal, or abnormal vascularity.
