Avatar n tn I am sorry to hear that you have been going through so much in life! As the differential diagnosis suggests the MRI findings indicate changes in brain that could be due to Lyme’s disease (because of Tick bite you had) or could be due to inflammation of brain blood vessels (vasculitis), degeneration or destruction of myelin sheath of nerves (seen in MS and autoimmune disorders) or due to narrowing of blood vessels causing poor blood supply and poor oxygen supply to parts of brain.
12807846 tn?1427329550 My daughter was admitted to the hospital with stroke like symptoms March 16th, 2015. They did an MRI and C Scan. She stayed 3 days. She did have a few spots on her MRI. She is weak, lots of pain, foggy, and still has a little problem with speech. She has trouble with her S's words. When she starts to feel worse again; it starts with her brain shaking. she says that it feels like it is shaking in her skull, and then it takes her awhile to get up and move again.
Avatar f tn Can you please explain my MRI of the brain done with and without contrast please: On T2 weighted and FLAIR sequences, there are multiple subcentimeter round ovoid foci of high signal in the right frontal lobe periventricular white matter, in addition to several subcentimeter lesions in the periventricular and subcortical white matter in the left frontal lobe and the subcortical white matter in the posterior right frontal lobe.
Avatar m tn Ok the docs said that i have damage to parts of my brain but it didnt show on scans. They found it from an evaluation where they put me through some memory, dexderity, and speed tests. Is this right? Can they say that i have this damage without it showing on the eeg, mri with/without contrast, cat scan, and think there was some other test they did but not sure. Can someone have brain damage and it just not show up?
Avatar f tn Headaches after a brain injury can also be due to concussion, and normally CT and MRI are normal. However, yes, MRI should be done to rule out brain injury as the cause. Stress due to concussion and brain injury can also be the cause. Also get your blood pressure checked. Take care!
Avatar n tn I had a brain mri scan for recurrent 'auras' thought to be due to migraine. The result of the scan came back normal except for a few spots of plaques. I am 50, is this normal? I am concerned that it is indicative of early degeneration associated with dementia.
1947337 tn?1331423890 A brain MRI w/wo contrast does not make it a CINE....a MRI takes still pictures...a CINE takes a real time movie to show the flow.....to see if it pulsates, u would wear a clip on ur finger to monitor ur BP..... U may want to ask, but not all NS's do the CINE.....
Avatar f tn Hi, last year I had an MRI scan. I was having it as the Dr was looking to see if I had an AVM on the brain, I get a lot of headaches and have an AVM on my right forearm. When I went to see the Dr he told me my results, he said there is a malformation there but it isnt an AVM. He then pointed to the temporal lobes and said they are low. I should of asked him what that meant, but I never ask questions when Im there, I just say to myself I should of asked this and I should of asked that.
Avatar f tn There are a couple of parasites that can get into the eye and brain. I would go to a neurologist. They may do a brain scan or be able to see if it is neurological. It may be migraine but they can diagnose that as well.
Avatar f tn I had a cat scan and blood test that showed a lesion on my brain. My doctor the had me get an MRI brain scan which his nurse said came back normal. Then why do I still feel like my brain has been scrambled ,and I just don't feel good overall?
Avatar m tn MRI brain can be useful in evaluating problems like persistent headaches, dizziness, weakness and blurry vision or seizures and chronic diseases of the nervous system like multiple sclerosis. It can provide clear images of parts of brain that can’t be seen as well on x-ray, cat scan or ultrasound, making it valuable for diagnosing pituitary gland and brain stem problems. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar f tn If you are having Occipital Neuritis and Arm Symptoms, you need to scan the brain and C-Spine. If the symptoms are in the lower limbs, you need to scan the brain, C-spine and T-spine. Your doctor may also decide to scan the L-spine, not looking for lesions, but looking to see if lower limb symptoms could be the result of compression of the Cauda Equina, the horse tail nerves that go to the lower extremities.
Avatar m tn Hi I had a MR scan of my brain a couple of weeks ago as I had vertigo’s episodes some times . According to my doctor the MR results shows some unspecified gliosis. He said this is not a major problem, as it can be associated to some sleeping disorders and nothing with the vertigo. Do you agree with this opinion or I should check with a neurologist?
Avatar f tn A CT scan and MRI are pretty much the tests that will find a tumor- if you've had 3 scans that have been normal I would think everything is okay.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have had several MRI scans and have a hind brain herniation. Symptoms are manifesting over the past year although the MRI scan shows no changes. Due to symptoms the surgeon has offered me decompression of the herniation. Sounds scary and dont know if I should hev this done. Could my symptoms get worse if I dont have the op. Any general advice would be helpful. Thankyou.
Avatar f tn The lesions it describes are in the noncerebellar parts of the brain. It looks like that the first time, you had a brain and C-spine scan or that the brain scan caught the C-spine, too, but the second report references only brain structures, so it may be that the C-spine was not scanned the second time or that the radiologist simply didn't see anything there to comment on; however, usually, they'll remark that they didn't see anything just to make it clear that they looked.
Avatar f tn They did another ct scan which showed up a shadow so they did a mri and was dx with a small tumor in the frontal lobe affecting her speech, memory etc. They have given her medication to control the seizures and released her telling her to have another mri in 4 weeks when theyll decide what treatment is needed. They may do a biopsy to find out what kind of cells are there and possibly surgery. If not surgery what other kind of treatment is there?
Avatar f tn I tolerated the symptoms until the last year and the have gotten worse, again The MRI scans I have show no brain lesions. Again I get lets wait and see. I am getting to old and to tired of these answers, can someone please tell me what my next step should be?
Avatar f tn hi a week ago i went to see neurosugeon consultant who told me that he did not no what to make of my mri scan and coulnt tell me what it was but sais that it wad large and didnt want to take a biopsy just said it was big and would rather remove it all than just take a biopsy. he said if it wasnt removed from my brain then i have a high risk of a brain hemorige, he said he would like to give me a full body scan aswell as another scan on my head to make sure nothing had spread.
Avatar f tn I too have cervical spondylosis and mri scan showed parts of my brain have been damaged - I have had dizziness for nine months - I recently bought an inversion bed, oh my, what heaven, I just love it, and my dizziness is less - the extra blood going to my brain will I hope help keep alive what brain I have left (I am only 58yrs this year) - I thoroughly suggest you look into this amazing bed, its changed my life for sure.
