I am 35, male. For the past ten years my voice has been "fading". Now I literally can't speak above a whisper. I haven't abused my vocal chords in any way I know of. It's a huge problem for me. People think I'm whispering or mumbling, and they have a lot of trouble hearing me. I have to repeat things all the time. It's so bad that I now simply prefer not to speak. I will see an ENT soon, but I don't know what to ask him.

I lost my Mother last year to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She passed away 4 mths. after a lung transplant. The last week of her life, she was put on moraphine. It eased her suffering greatly. She never spoke another word to us, but at least she was comfortable. Two months after my dear Momma's death, I was diagnosed with COPD...

(Focus) So, 2 nights after his request, they gave him 1mg of morphine and he has now been in, what seems to be a deep sleep (2 days later). That anxiety and depression are feelings that were kind of silenced or maybe put to a whisper when you were taking the morphine and fent. Fent is way stronger then morphine so it's most likely you are feeling that absence more then the morphine. But you were taking 3 different opiate pain medications at once, quitting two of them will for sure make you feel this way. I would seriously think about holding off on tappering the perks just yet.

With my 1st born I got an epidural and I was looking into different pain relief options for this pregnancy. Any of you got morphine instead of an epidural and how was your experience?

Hi yes it is normal behavior for Morphine, when you first start it your on top of the world then comes irritation and depression and even nightmares for some. How much is he on? How long? and dose he want to quit?

Well, first of all i know what i would tell your husband. Who cares what he wants or doesn't like. Look at the mess you are in. Sounds like you need to go and speak with a doctor and explain that you want to get off the morphine. Don't forget to tell him about this husband also who is obviously causing you alot of anxiety.

I pretty much thought it had something to do with the morphine. Any advice? He needs it for his back. My view is morphine is probably better than any other of the narcotic analgesics because it is the most natural and has been around for centuries. I certainly would not want him on oxycontin or fentanyl. Is Opana ER any better? Need advice from doctor preferably or someone who has an idea what they are talking about regarding this matter.

My husband is addicted to Morphine. I have never done any type of drug and I really don't know what to do to help. Every time I think I know what is going on I find out something else he has lied about. At first it was just taking the pills, then it was crushing the pills. Now I'm finding needles and spoons everywhere. He claims that he gets the pills down to liquid form and puts them in the needle and squirts it in his mouth. I just don't believe him anymore.

I am going to go cold turkey on tuesday from 100mg morphine, been on them about 6 to 8 weeks. feeling sick when I dont take them and not able to take off time for detox and types for detox?

After running the gamut of pain medications in an effort to find some relief from the constant, chronic pain I endure from spondylolisthesis, I've been prescribed morphine tablets at 10 mgs per tab. I'm still getting no relief from the pain. Should I ask my GP for a higher dosage?

Morphine must be okay for the liver because that's what they used when I was in the ICU following my liver transplant. Be VERY careful with morphine. I was on it for 7 days and went wacky with hallucinations of all kinds.

The morphine is actually much less problematic than the oxycodone. You should be comfortable taking the morphine and not the oxy.................

Second - is this a short acting (SA) or is it a long acting (LA) Morphine? 60mgs of Morphine is one heck of a one time dose. I would not take it. There could be serious complications, especially if you your system is opiate naive. Don't take it.

I had a sore throat for 2 weeks,now my voice is very weak, only whisper,and some flem at back of throat at times.If i talk normal cracky and difficult for 2 weeks now.Sometimes i feel inhaler is causing my voice problems or both? i seem to have had this voice problem,but much less for years but not this bad,especially when i could feel sinus dripping down back of throat.

The hoarseness is probably from the trach tube they used to help you breath. Best thing to do is rest your voice. I had people calling me the day after my PT and I just made it worse by using my voice. Sherbet will soothe it; it certainly helped me. Hoarseness was gone in a few days. You might also make sure the surgeon didn't knick any vocal cords when he was in there; that does sometimes happen as well. Good Luck and keep us posted!

What my question is has anyone every heard of losing your voice, having the mono rash and occassionally a sore throat? He can barely talk above a whisper. His ENT dr wants him to take speech therapy, but his voice comes back for a little while. He has been like this for 5 weeks now. Can anyone help with what maybe going on?

My girlfriend had sex with me and doesn't remember. Here's what happened. We were talking (she wasn't asleep), and she told me she felt a slight pain in a bone in her abdomen. Im having to deside if I should have vocal cord injection or surgery. During my TT, my vocal cord was clipped. I have had to whisper since my surgery 6 months ago. It has been painful, hard to eat, drink and just function. Heres the question I was woundering if any body else had, had this happen to them. Also if you knew any thing about the injection or the surgery? Im a tad confused. One point I just want to have the surgery, so it will be done and over with.
