morphine and gallstones

Thursday night i had a much more severe attack and ended up at the ER again. They gave me morphine and sent me home with morphine orally. So here i am writing to see if im the only one in the situation. I have tried managing my food but i have always loved food and finding it very hard. I haven't eaten fried food at all. but i still get attacks. Im soooo depressed over this. My poor DH has to lose sleep along with me in the ER.

Well my baby is ok I was on morphine and I.v and percocets I was soooo scared but I needed it.. im not due till August but test and ultrasounds look good. But I feel great gallbladder is out!!

I had a ultrasound Tuesday and my gallbladder was full of gallstones. I was in so much pain I was given 2 shots of morphine and a shot of dilota in a 5 hour period and it still wasn't easing the pain. I got admitted to the hospital had emergency surgery the next day. Wednesday, May 1 2013. I feel so much better now that they removed my gallbladder.I was only 10 weeks pregnant. My baby is fine, I'm just so glad my little love big is ok and I'm feeling better.

dont wait till uterus gets bigger..then its harder and gallbladder can erupt and thats toxic to u and baby!!!

Pregnancy has given me gallstones. I've had to take morphine. I have to really limit my diet to avoid attacks. I don't know if a change in diet might prevent kidney stones?

E by abulance because i was in so much pain and counld not stop being sick, they took blood test to make sure it was nothing life threating and gave me some morphine and sent me home the same night once pain killers had worn off i had to go back to A&E and the repeated the same as before.

So i went to the hospital after being in the emergency department for the whole day with iv fluid and morphine and anti nausea medicine .they told me i had constipation and treated to with an enema and sent me home Are these symptoms really associated with constipation.I feel i was fobbed off. I Must admit after being cleaned out i did feel better .But since being home for 1 day i have eaten and now i have bloating and feel like a tightened band is in my abdomen . Could i have food allergies .

I have been tested with ultrasound,blood test,liver enzymes are alittle high,I take anti inflamatories for my Arthritis and also morphine for my back trouble,I also take anti depressants.At the momment the pane is worsening certain foods do irritate it but it is there constantly.I had helicobacture in the past.I am having lots of sweating attacks and feeling nauseous,and feeling faint .

I got seriously irate. My arm and hand looked like a balloon. I wanted a cigarette, coffee, and water, and with the morphine in my skin instead of in my vein, I got no pain relief, and they said they couldn't give me any more morphine, so I left. That was Sunday morning, about 5:30. But, also, I have been bleeding severely for 3 weeks, now: female bleeding.

They gave me a shot of morphine and kept me in for two nights on an iv fluid diet to help my liver and gallbladder. They then started me on a strict low fat diet. Unfortunately it turned out I didn't have gallstones but rather my gallbladder had quit working so they removed it at 21wks pregnant.

I am only 19 weeks and i have gallstones which were discovered at 5 weeks and a gallbladder that is a ticking time bomb! My goal is to wait until after baby is born then surgeon is taking out my gallbladder! Fingers are crossed my gallbladder can make it that long as both me and my surgeon do not want to have surgery while pregnant! I hope you get some relief soon as the pain is awful!

e on Wednesday night and all heart etc ok but this pain was terrible codine didn’t touch it It’s like a burning grawling pain So I have been back and forth to the drs for few weeks now they can’t get me in for an endoscopy for a month or so Iv had my bloods done all ok and Pancras checked and ultrasound no gallstones etc but I have this chronic pain in my stomach and back shoulder blades mostly at night and Iv had to take morphine to take away the pain it’s that bad.

I had emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder at 10 weeks I am now 16 weeks and feel a lot better! Mine was a constant pain for 4-5 days and the er was giving me morphine and dilota and it wasn't touching the pain so the admitted me and removed it the next day! Everything they gave me was OK for my baby. The pain meds and the medicine to put me to sleep during surgery was safe for baby.

i went to the hospital 2 days ago for sever pain under the right side of my rib the doc said it could be my gallblatter cause of all my symtoms, theh did an ultrasound and didnt find anything, and blood test came back normal. But iv been researching and i have read that sometimes you cant see gallstones in an ultrasound the doc didnt want to do a cat scan since im pregnant anyone else have this?

When the hospital did blood tests they found abnormalities in my blood and also gallstones. I was given Morphine for the pain and within 48/72 hours was fully recovered and sent home.

In 2004 I was diagnosed via CT with Appendicitis and Gallstones. The surgeon operated and found no gallstones and no appendicitis. He removed my appendix but left the Gallbladder. The Appendix was sent of to a lab and came back showing a very small carcinoid tumor. I followed up w/ a GI and OBGYN doc and no issue except for an umbilical hernia due to me taking a kick boxing class before being fully healed. That surgery had to be repeated 3 times as it wouldn't heal.

During this pregnancy I had to have surgery and afterwards they gave me morphine and tramadol. I also was on diazepam for a couple of weeks. If its all prescribed by your dr he will be up to date with what doses are safe and when to stop the meds for baby. If you doubt his knowledge then I would get a second opinion. Good luck!

Had a stone lodge in my common bile duct. Developed pancreatitis, was hospitalized, and finally passed the stone. Excruciating, morphine-grade pain. I was told it would be a good time to have it removed since I was relatively young (43), had good insurance, and this would probably be a recurring thing. Had the laproscopic procedure and like you say, it was only a few days recovery time.

two monthsago had an episode of very acute upper right sided pain just under my ribs. Got steadily worse radiating to my back and shoulder. Felt very scared and it lasted for about two hours. The pain came in waves and was almost unbearable. Stopped quite suddenly but had a tenderness middle right under ribs (Which is still there) Had another attack two weeks ago , very severe again ,sweating nausea shaking etc.

I had the same thing for a year and finally went to a doctor that took an ultrasound and found that I had gallstones and needed an operation. Just had the operation done last week and feel great. Get the ulatrasound.

This may be a few things. A little anatomy 101 for you. The gallbladder is located in the right upper quadrant. It is kinda tucked behind the liver as the gallbladder stores bile that the liver produces. When we eat a fatty meal, the gallbladder contracts and squeezes out bile into our digestive tract to digest the fat. If your husband is having pain after he eats and if also the pain radiates to his chest, it could just be the gallbladder.

ME AND MY HUSBAND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONCEIVE FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW AND IT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE HAPPENING.... I WAS RECENTLY DIAGNOSED WITH GALLSTONES AND I WAS WONDERING IF HAVING GALLSTONES OR GALLBLADDER DISEASE HAS ANY EFFECT WHATSOEVER ON MY CHANCES OF GETTING PREGNANT?? DOES ANYONE KNOW??

i have gerd and gallbladder symptoms and my edoscopic and all gall bladder test came back normal. what do you think can be the problem of this pain and discomfort?

It is so excruciating and no doc has ever been able to say why. Did not know relationship between morphine and codeine and had the same reaction with morphine. Now I know to avoid both like the plague.

I am a 31 yr old mother of four beautiful children and I was getting some really bad pain in my upper right part of me belly and I went for an ultrasound and was told I have gallstones and an enlarged liver and have been itchy every where and now my neck is hurting really bad in the back and front it feels like my someone is trying to strangle me. ve had gallstones and have now had my gallbladder removed. I had horrendous stabbing pain just under my breasts in the middle of my chest, it would then go away but rise up through my back. The pain lasted 15mins and I could time my watch by it. I would feel really cold and shaky after the attacks. I had about 4 attacks every few months. The last time I had it the pain lasted two hours (due to eating a lot of fatty food that weekend) and then I was rushed to hospital.

t cure them -- watching what you eat and keeping a healthy weight might help you prevent gallstones from forming and avoid some. Some the risk factors are past family history and gender (women are twice as likely to form gallstones than men). Hope this helps, jd1963!

I had problems with nausea and pain and had HIDA scan and found out my gallbladder was all sludged up too and not working right either. A week before my scheduled surgery I could not eat anything more than boost shakes, applesauce and the like and had to go to the ER once for a morphine shot. I couldn't wait for the surgery. After I woke up from the surgery, I already felt much better.
