Mobic the drug

Common Questions and Answers about Mobic the drug

mobic

Avatar m tn The proximity of your mobic intake and the symptoms may point out to a possible adverse drug reaction. Adverse drug experiences can come in many forms and not just with the rashes. We cannot also discount the possibility that the burning sensation can be an impinged nerve as you have a history before a bulging disk. I suggest you take this to your doctor. You may also want to hold mobic for a while and see if the symptoms would stop.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
635402 tn?1270162477 It was approved on 4-14-2000 by the FDA to initially treat osteoarthritis. The drug interferes with the anti inflammatory process. The usual and customary side effects of strong NSAID's apply to this drug. I have not personally taken this medication. Others will post with additional information and hopefully someone has taken it. Please let us know how it works for you.
518798 tn?1295212279 Is anyone on here familiar with the med MOBIC? I finally went to the ortho. doctor today for my shoulder pain. Can you believe it, he told me it was carpal tunnel syndrome? I thought the shoulder pain was causing my wrist and fingers to go numb, come to find out it was the wrist causing the shoulder pain. I am totally baffled. I go back on Monday for a nerve study to determine if I need surgery.
Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...
5082295 tn?1371250911 When I was on Mobic (meloxicam), the second day I spent all day with a runny nose and red eyes, couldn't stop crying all day like I was having a really bad cold but later I found out it was one of the side effects. But, the worse was when I went to exercise with my trainer and noticed my heart rate was crazy going from 100 to 220 in seconds and going down to 60 while I was warming up on the elliptical machine.
Avatar f tn I am going to make an appointment with my primary care to discuss the options, just wont fill any RX i get before coming on here as DOCS love to prescribe crap like tram and tell you its the best med on the market.
1699107 tn?1307306696 ve ben told to take only three a day instead of the 10 or 12 I was taking. I hurt to so bad I want to take the whole damn bottle. I have used tramadol, did nothing for the pain, I still have 20 or so left. Ill ask about this Mobic next week. They want to see me once a week. I've never gone to a pain clinic before. I had to pee in a cup BEFORE the appt! But I tell you I cannot continue to live with pain like I've been having,. Sorry!http://icanhascheezburger.files.wordpress.
335728 tn?1331414412 Voltarin and Mobic (anti-inflammatories) both caused me to be super sun sensitive. The Voltarin came with a warning on the prescription bottle, but the Mobic didn't. With the Mobic, I got a light sunburn and ended up breaking out in sun poisoning. Thanks for the warning reminder!
3122657 tn?1357432602 Mobic is the brand name...Meloxicam is the generic...I take it for my joint pain brought on by TX. Its a prescription only NSAID that is easier on the stomach than Ibu and Naproxen. It helps some. I also use Arnicare (arnica gel)...its homeopathic stuff that I rub on my knee, wrists, etc. I'm not sure about rubbing alcohol thing.
Avatar m tn ve been prescribed Meloxicam/Mobic for the pain and inflamation. The data sheet that came with the prescription details some pretty nasty potential side effects. I normally don't have too much trouble with meds but this stuff is potent. What have been your experiences with this med? I'm also on Paxil, 10mgs per day, and Methlyne, 15mgs per day, for the depression and anxiety problems. Thx in advance for all your replys. Thom.
Avatar n tn Thanks for responding. I have been put on Mobic for a knee problem, which has now resolved. I hoping that my pain Dr. will agree to let me stop the narcotic pain meds and try to use the Mobic and epidurals. I really don't know what is worse-the steroids in the epidurals or staying on Percocet. It would be OK if I really felt it was helping, but I don't. I had a sciatica flare up about 3 months ago, and had to go on Oxycontin 20mg for a few weeks.
Avatar m tn Yes Ive tried lyrica and it did help, however Im with a new doctor now and he didnt want to prescribe it for some reason. I didnt really get into the why not, Im just hoping this Mobic will help. But from what I understand about it, its just a stronger NSAID so Im not sure how helpful its going to be with nerve pain. I have to go get a lumbar MRI to hopefully see what the deal is.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the responses!! You know, the whole reason of why I ended up at the neurologist’s office after the orthopedic, rheumatologist, and a string of others, is that I was struck by lightning nearly two years ago. It came through the water and up my left leg, as I was attempting to enter the shower, throwing me back into the bathroom closet. There was no sign of rain, but just as I had put the one foot in and began to get in completely, there was a BOOM!
Avatar f tn Due to my swelling i am not able to sleep in the night. My hands feel very warm all the time. the rest of the body feels so cold. My doc has prescribed mobic for pain and tylenol pm for sleeping apart from plaquenil daily. i will research on Mixed connective tissue disease. thanks .
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar m tn I am taking mobic for chronic back pain, however i was recently prescribed vicodin to take in unison with the mobic. I need to know how dangerous if at all the combination of the two can be, and if i need to be aware of additional side effects?
1581408 tn?1296506870 I remained on Oxycodone, as well as the Mobic (which was renewed finally) and Tylenol (3 500mg tabs per dose) to manage the pain so I could function at work for most of the last 3 months. But when I saw my doctor yesterday, he decided to change things up.
168348 tn?1379357075 but will go to Prim Doc tomorrow if this belly pain is still there just to be certain since on the Mobic almost a year now for severe tendonitis in my tibial tendon and all kidney function tests are A-OK as screening on the med. Only other med I'm on is Synthroid for thyroid and all fine there, too. My ins. is thru husband's employer and cannot drop unless lifetime max is reached and is a major HMO.
Avatar f tn I then had the Heart Cath that proved the Stress Test false positive. This happened exactly the same 4 yrs. ago. Both times this was indicated because of chest pain. I do have the common risk factors: High BP & cholesterol (contolled with Meds) & heredity. What next? Why do I still have chest pain?
176838 tn?1211460374 I am a 31 year old female and I recently saw a fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue specialist for a myriad of complaints including fatigue, headaches, joint & muscle pain. He thinks I might have sleep apnea which would account for some of my symptoms but not all. I have some of the pressure points for fibromyalgia but not a full 11.
Avatar m tn My non narco drug that I found to work really good for my back pain is called meloxicam I think that's how u spell it it's just the generic of mobic andbis just an NSAID like motrin or naproxen just a good bit stringer is what my doc told me and it works wonders for me so that's another one to try
Avatar m tn Great information. I've done the OTC meds and that's what took me to Mobic/Meloxicam. My doctor did the preauthorization and that's what was denied. I don't even know if Celebrex is going to bet miracle. I will go to their website and see if I can get some discount coupons. Just for general information to anyone that cares..... I have seen a top gastroantonologist (spelling) who killed the myth about Tylenol and liver function.
513154 tn?1340225289 I would definitely call the Dr to explore your options. The one non-narcotic pain reliever that comes to my mind is Ultram (tramadol). I have talked to many who have used it with success.
Avatar f tn I was just prescribed mobic and I just wondered if it's afdictive
