Mobic and vicodin

Common Questions and Answers about Mobic and vicodin

mobic

Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
Avatar f tn I was on Mobic for a year or so and never had any issues besides stomach pain (which any NSAID's can cause) I get stomach pain with any NSAID's. Mobic wasn't really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex.
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
1759292 tn?1313064590 I've took Vicodin and Topamax. Vicodin made me not care about myself or my family. Topamax didn't seem to help at all.
635402 tn?1270162477 The have tried pain management techniques, chiropractic therapy, bio feed back, the list goes on. They have tried morphine, and vicodin among other drugs they and these did not help. They are trying Meloxicam usually just called Mobic. I looked it up, it doesn't say anything about being for pain, but it is an anti inflammatory med, so I wondered if anyone else had experience with this medication. It is good for slowing down my osteoporosis so that's good.
350801 tn?1201924763 s pretty effective. It makes me drowsy, though. I am bound and determined NOT to abuse the Vicodin, and am doing pretty well. My DR. explained to me that the more Vicodin you take, your body will make blockers to keep it from working, which is why people start abusing it, and they tell us not to take it for more than 4 or 5 days straight. I am feeling pretty kooky because the Nortrip & Relefan make me really drowsy, and I don't like this feeling. Keep me in your thoughts, all.
Avatar f tn m currently on mobic, wellbutrin, trazadone, valium, and vicodin as needed. Lately I have been using more vicodin as that is the only drug that is working. I live with pain constantly all day. Can anyone suggest anything. I am seeing my doctor this week. Thank you.
Avatar n tn I was taking Ibuprofen for years and the pain in my knees was intollerable and I was confined to a wheel chair. About a year ago I started taking 1400 IU of Vitamin D and stopped the ibuprofen totally, my arthritis was doing MUCH better, even started taking short walks, however, recently, I had an injury and started taking Ibuprofen.....now my knees hurt all the time. Can Ibuprofen deplete vitamin D?
Avatar f tn The doctor said nothing to worry about, RA was negative but the ANA was positive. I take Exforge for HBP. I take Vicodin for the pain but does not work and Mobic does not seem to work either. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn My mama used to take Mobic and it helped her back alot. Unfortunately for her, it upset her stomach so she quit taking it with no side effects following. Best wishes.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar m tn m already a member of the Anxiety and Depression forums. After two months, almost, of tests and seeing various doctors and specialist, I've been diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis in the lower back and right hip. For this I've been prescribed Meloxicam/Mobic for the pain and inflamation. The data sheet that came with the prescription details some pretty nasty potential side effects. I normally don't have too much trouble with meds but this stuff is potent.
Avatar f tn I take lisinopril myself for HBP and have done so for decades. I've never used naproxen except maybe once or twice. One Rx that might possibly be of benefit for arthritis instead of naproxen is meloxicam, also known as Mobic. I use it occasionally with no ill effects to report.
Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. The inactive ingredients in Meloxicam (MOBIC) tablets include colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, and sodium citrate dihydrate. So, the sodium content should be in very minute quantities. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn My pain management doctor prescribes me Flexeral once a day, Mobic twice a day and Vicodin 10/325 4 times a day for the pain. This was working for a while, but now it seems it does not help as much as it did before. Is it possible that my body has become tolerant to these medications? I am wondering if my doctor should try something else for the pain. I have been on this regimen for over a year now. Thank you!
Avatar m tn I've taken Mobic and Hydrosil as prescribed by my doctor because of my right knee discomfort last month. I immediately stop taken it after my right foot started to numb and tingling the next day. The problem still exist and it has been one month already. Why is it like this? Also, I've been taking Vitamin B complex supplement from that day onwards and it seems not working until today.
Avatar f tn i am using Mobic on and off for pain. But due to swelling i am not able to make a fist. i have pain on the edges of the palm.
Avatar m tn I got x-rays and was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis in my big toe joint and on 9-18-13 I started taking Meloxicam (Mobic). The 1st two nights of taking Meloxicam I felt achey at night and had a fever of about 100- 101. That went away for a while, but then started happening again now every night from about 10-1-13 to now 10-11-13. I get a slight fever at night (100-101) and sweat bad all night long. Bad enough to where the sheets are wet. I usually lose about 3 - 3 1/2 lbs.
1264863 tn?1391118193 Iv been on opiates since iv been 11 started with 10mg norco (which is vicodin with 325 tylonal) and started taking it 3 times a day and was up to the point where i was taking 12 a day, then i was taking 10mg percs, moved up to 15 mg roxies then they added 30mg oxycontins 3 times a day, then i desided to try and taper myself off pain meds completely at age 15 because it was scary and my tollerance was just to high.
1044813 tn?1370494406 Sure, we can add Mobic/Meloxicam to the Pain Tracker for you. In the meantime, please use NSAIDs, since meloxicam is a type of NSAID and this is already available on the tracker.
4939681 tn?1361299299 and two opioids oxycodone and morphine have made you nauseous/weak. If you were to try vicodin or codeine, you run the risk of the nausea feeling again because they have similar reactions as the oxy and morphine. There are a couple other drugs you could try first before going to the higher potency drugs that may not make you feel so out of it. The first drug is actually used for fibromyalgia patients a lot and it is called Savella.
Avatar n tn The FDA was even debating whether or not to discontinue meds like percocet and vicodin; and lowering the official 'safe' level from 4,ooomg per day to 3,ooo of acetaminophen. http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm239894.htm *They must be using up all the old stocks because according to this link, Abott stopped manufacturing Vicodin over 3oo mg. http://www.healthesystems.com/news/industry-news--alerts/reformulation-and-discontinuation-of-vicodin.
Avatar f tn I work for an Ortho Surgeon who specializes in knee and hip replacements and also sees a lot of patients with severe arthritis, he does use Mobic alot but also uses the Arthrotec. Find a good dr. and get some definitive answers then proceed from there as far as what medications will help you. Keep us posted and welcome to the forum.
Avatar f tn I was just prescribed mobic and I just wondered if it's afdictive
168348 tn?1379357075 get that and which med did you take and how far out did you space it out? I have been taking mega Rolaids or Tums but think I need more like a Zantac or Prilosec (otc) for now ...... did you get it from Synthroid at all alone? My anti-inflammatory for my ankle is really the culprit as that, in itself, is very hard on the GI .. and coupled with the thyroid med I have heartburn, etc. I figure safe to spread out meds by 2hrs ?
