Avatar n tn From the way you describe it, this really does sound like impingement syndrome. Impingement syndrome is inflammation of the rotator cuff tendons and the bursa that surrounds them. It is usually caused by repetitive overhead activity pinching the tendons and bursa between the head of the humerus and the acromion (the flat bone on the top of your shoulder. Conservative management usually consists of NSAID's, physical therapy, and occasionally a cortisone shot.
Avatar m tn Also take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Tylenol, Aleve or Mobic to relive the symptoms of thrombophlebitis you got due to blood test. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
711326 tn?1297868510 Anyone try Fertile CM and have any luck with it? I've been diagnosed with Costochondritis - - Tietze's Syndrome which is inflammation in the sternum and arthritis basically. They have me on mobic, zyrtec, zantex and ultrium for pain. Embarassed to say but lately it seem like I am dried up and not able to produce any CM even when it comes to BD'ing. I've read great reviews on it but wonder if anyone has tried it here and had any luck.
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
Avatar n tn I have many health issues including chronic pain and RSD. I have post polio syndrome as well. There are some good days and some really, really bad days. Over the past 10 years I have been on many pain meds to help with these symptoms. I have been on Oxycontin about 4 times and have stopped using it because the drug demands you to increase the dose and I am not willing to become a slave to these drugs. I have been on just Percocet 5-10mg about 3 times a day for about 3 years.
Avatar f tn I take Gabapentin 400mg 4 times a day and Mobic 15mg 3x a day. Swelling is still constant the twitching is slowly coming back and my pain is about an 8! Going back in for second round of injections but I have a negative EMG MRI!! When will it end?? Doctors are saying nerve damage I'm so frustrated and just want my life back I'm 43!!!
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if mobic is addictive? My doctor switched me to them today from loratab. I am glad because the loratab really is addictive and I would rather not have my body relying on anything. I have been on the loratab for a little over a year now and I feel like crap if I miss a day and go without it. Not only am I in pain (because of female problems and my back) but I feel like I have the flu. How long will I feel that way without it? since I switch my meds today.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
5082295 tn?1371250911 I just started Mobic (meloxicam) a few days ago and they say I should work fast. Im taking one 7.5 tab a day for Piriformis syndrome which is a disorder that occurs when the sciatic nerve is compressed or otherwise irritated by the piriformis muscle. I really don't see any difference in my pain level at all, I had more help w ibphrofen, should I take that right now too? could I increase the dose till I talk to my doc on Monday or should I give it more time to work?
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
1276940 tn?1564515084 I am on Mobic, 15 mg once daily, but I usually only take it Aug-April. Because the colder months is when I usually hurt the most. But not this year. I have been on Mobic since last April. I take it with food, first thing in the morning, and it still upsets my stomach. I have tried taking it every other day. But it still bothers my stomach on the days I take it.
Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
1448748 tn?1312956208 I have costchondritis too. It is terribly painful, especially if I push on my sternum or the rib joints near my sternum. I've had pain since january, following a minor trauma to the chest. That is also when my syrinx seemed to start growing so the docs wonder if the same minor trauma started that moving. The NS's did not rule out that my chest pain is coming from my syrinx (C7-T3) but I believe my physiatrist who thinks its costo....
1044813 tn?1370494406 Sure, we can add Mobic/Meloxicam to the Pain Tracker for you. In the meantime, please use NSAIDs, since meloxicam is a type of NSAID and this is already available on the tracker.
Avatar f tn Your doctor might refer to costochondritis by other names, including chest wall pain, costosternal syndrome and costosternal chondrodynia. When the pain of costochondritis is accompanied by swelling, it's referred to as Tietze syndrome. Most cases of costochondritis have no apparent cause. In these cases, treatment focuses on easing your pain while you wait for costochondritis to resolve on its own.
518798 tn?1295212279 I will keep everyone informed. Right now I am taking the MOBIC, but I refuse to take the TRAMADOL. I will take the advil as long as I can and hope the pain doesn't get too unbearable. I am wearing a wrist splint now, and will have the nerve study done on Monday to determine the extent of my condition.
Avatar f tn I have been to a doctor for my pain and other symptoms. He ran blood tests to check my rh factor and started me on 15 mg mobic/day. The blood tests came back ok. The mobic didn't seem to help at all. So now he's thinking I may have fibromyalgia. He told me to stay on the mobic (which I decided to stop taking since it didn't seem to help at all) and also started me on Savella. I have been taking it for about 5 days now and I'm noticing tremendous relief!
Avatar f tn I guess I would just like to know can there be a sweet/foul taste that alternates with this metallic taste. I take prednisone (5mgs), mobic, and lyrica and have for over two years. Could any of these be the cause? Does anyone know if this taste thing could just disappear just like it one day appeared. It's horrible. I eat to cover it up but nothing makes it go away. I brush constantly, some days I constantly keep hard candy in my mouth. Does anyone know if this will get worse?
Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...
Avatar f tn I was just prescribed mobic and I just wondered if it's afdictive
Avatar n tn I have had 18 pt visits (traction now up to 32 lbs.. does provide relief temporary,(24hr) also take mobic.. recently prescribed a home traction unit.. confused as if this is right treatment..
493368 tn?1209757681 Mobic 15mgs has worked very well for my severe ankle tibial tendonitis and moderate arthritis coupled with physical therapy which helped restore my range of motion which was 60% lost at the time of therapy. However, the tendonitis can not be helped any furthe (I wear orthotics _ high top sneakrs and a splint brace to sleep at night) The mobic helps the arthritis alot for me & I've been on it 1.5yrs with normal blood labs.
3122657 tn?1357432602 But if you have real joint pain you may need to ask your Dr. about anti inflammatory drugs. One is called mobic generic for (???). Dr. Mayo (yes the real mayo!!!) had me on it. I quit taking it because its not good for the heart. My hearts in good shape & I want to keep it like that!!!! But that would definitely be for a Dr. to decide. And yourself of course. I will say---they do work!!! Let me know if it lifts on its own or what???
335728 tn?1331414412 Voltarin and Mobic (anti-inflammatories) both caused me to be super sun sensitive. The Voltarin came with a warning on the prescription bottle, but the Mobic didn't. With the Mobic, I got a light sunburn and ended up breaking out in sun poisoning. Thanks for the warning reminder!
Avatar n tn husband was just switched from mobic to gabapentin for nueropathy symptoms he suffers from, he now is having extremely low glucose readings some don't even register on his meter. We need to know if it could be interaction between it and other meds he takes. Currently he takes humilin N&R, levoxyl, prevacid, and mild dose aspirin.
