A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar f tn I recently had a Positive EKG/Cardiolyte IV Stress Test. I then had the Heart Cath that proved the Stress Test false positive. This happened exactly the same 4 yrs. ago. Both times this was indicated because of chest pain. I do have the common risk factors: High BP & cholesterol (contolled with Meds) & heredity. What next? Why do I still have chest pain?
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
Avatar f tn //www.health.harvard.edu/heart-health/heart-safer-nsaid-alternatives Tylenol? Tramadol? Physical therapy? Exercise? Those are on the list as potential options. My suggestion is to discuss this with your doctor. Perhaps a trial without naproxen would work to let you know for sure if it is causing the issue. Let us know!
Avatar n tn My brother, 2yrs older, has had bypasses, has a pace maker-diffibular, and his heart functions at only 20%. My doctor put me on Mobic, and Flexeril for pain from a bad fall a few months ago-no xrays, etc. He had me stop Mobic for a week, saying to resume after chest pains stop. I think that helped but I resumed it about 1wk ago, and the chest pains seem worse and more frequent. I just stopped the Mobic again today, to see if that helps. I am concerned it could be a prelude to a heart attack.
Avatar f tn I was on Mobic for a year or so and never had any issues besides stomach pain (which any NSAID's can cause) I get stomach pain with any NSAID's. Mobic wasn't really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex.
Avatar f tn I have had a very difficult year with lots of body pains. I've been on anti-inflammatories for months, the last being Mobic (meloxicam). About a week ago, I had a couple of days of palpitations (95 to 110 b.p.m.) constantly. I went to my pain doctor and he noticed it was unusually fast so he told me to stop the Mobic. I had all day fast heart rate for next two days. It's much better now; however, about a week ago, i woke up at around 4:00 a.m. with heart pressure.
3122657 tn?1357432602 But if you have real joint pain you may need to ask your Dr. about anti inflammatory drugs. One is called mobic generic for (???). Dr. Mayo (yes the real mayo!!!) had me on it. I quit taking it because its not good for the heart. My hearts in good shape & I want to keep it like that!!!! But that would definitely be for a Dr. to decide. And yourself of course. I will say---they do work!!! Let me know if it lifts on its own or what???
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
2121656 tn?1395674749 My baby girl is sick. She ate dinner last night, through up 3 times. I feed her chicken & rice this morning. Needless to say, she through that up. I can't get her to drink, take her mobic or glucosamine. She only drank a little after eating this morning. She's been sleeping all day. She's 12 yrs. old & usually just sleeps most of the time anyways. She's had surgery on both ACL'S, one 5 ys. ago & he left back leg 3 yrs. ago.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if mobic is addictive? My doctor switched me to them today from loratab. I am glad because the loratab really is addictive and I would rather not have my body relying on anything. I have been on the loratab for a little over a year now and I feel like crap if I miss a day and go without it. Not only am I in pain (because of female problems and my back) but I feel like I have the flu. How long will I feel that way without it? since I switch my meds today.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
168348 tn?1379357075 my son had a stomach virus about 3 months ago and ended up in terrible agony which he said was like heart burn only more severe so he went to the chemist who gave him antacid but over the next couple of days it got worse so he took himself off to hospital and they told him that the virus had eaten a portion of his stomach lining which made it raw and the acid was eating into it.
168348 tn?1379357075 Hi, I ask this question because both a member on the Arthritis Community, and myself have seen a corelation between taking NSAID for arthritis and depletion of Vit D ... is this just coincidence or is there a possible connection?
5082295 tn?1371250911 I just started Mobic (meloxicam) a few days ago and they say I should work fast. Im taking one 7.5 tab a day for Piriformis syndrome which is a disorder that occurs when the sciatic nerve is compressed or otherwise irritated by the piriformis muscle. I really don't see any difference in my pain level at all, I had more help w ibphrofen, should I take that right now too? could I increase the dose till I talk to my doc on Monday or should I give it more time to work?
1044813 tn?1370494406 Sure, we can add Mobic/Meloxicam to the Pain Tracker for you. In the meantime, please use NSAIDs, since meloxicam is a type of NSAID and this is already available on the tracker.
Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...
Avatar f tn I was just prescribed mobic and I just wondered if it's afdictive
Avatar n tn I have had 18 pt visits (traction now up to 32 lbs.. does provide relief temporary,(24hr) also take mobic.. recently prescribed a home traction unit.. confused as if this is right treatment..
533063 tn?1262366101 Hello all! I'm hypo/hashi - have been taking levothyroxine (25 mcg, 1st month; 50 mcg, next two months) in the morning, as I wake up with water. About 15 - 20 minutes after taking my meds, I've started noticing (within the last month & a half) that I get a dull pain in the area of my left breast - it feels like it's almost IN my breast, or just below it.
493368 tn?1209757681 Mobic 15mgs has worked very well for my severe ankle tibial tendonitis and moderate arthritis coupled with physical therapy which helped restore my range of motion which was 60% lost at the time of therapy. However, the tendonitis can not be helped any furthe (I wear orthotics _ high top sneakrs and a splint brace to sleep at night) The mobic helps the arthritis alot for me & I've been on it 1.5yrs with normal blood labs.
335728 tn?1331414412 Voltarin and Mobic (anti-inflammatories) both caused me to be super sun sensitive. The Voltarin came with a warning on the prescription bottle, but the Mobic didn't. With the Mobic, I got a light sunburn and ended up breaking out in sun poisoning. Thanks for the warning reminder!
Avatar n tn husband was just switched from mobic to gabapentin for nueropathy symptoms he suffers from, he now is having extremely low glucose readings some don't even register on his meter. We need to know if it could be interaction between it and other meds he takes. Currently he takes humilin N&R, levoxyl, prevacid, and mild dose aspirin.
1770281 tn?1315399993 i am so tired.
659608 tn?1318289366 I will research congestive heart problems here on this site to see the signs. I am not on any heart medications, my doctor had put me on Mobic and Flexeril at the same time, and after a couple months I actually started having sharp pains in my chest and left breast area. After reading the information from the pharmacy, I stopped them, and told my doctor. He told me to get off it at once, that it wasn't any good for me. I told him I had already done so.
