Avatar m tn Apply ice, and take a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Aleve or Mobic. You will need X-rays of the lower spine, pelvis and hip to see if you have a bony injury. The swelling could be a contusion (which will respond to the above treatment) or it could be a hematoma (localized collection of blood which may get re-absorbed or may need drainage). Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!
Avatar f tn There are many, many medications available to treat not only the pain and inflammation, but also slow down and hopefully halt the progression of the disease itself. The frustrating part is finding the right medication or combination of meds for you - no two people respond the same way to the same medications. My "cocktail" is Enbrel and methotrexate, plus an anti-inflammatory called meloxicam (Mobic). These three meds only scratch the surface of what's available. Good luck!
Avatar n tn They do help, but are expensive. There was another patch with an anti-inflammatory in it, but I am taking mobic orally, which helps me more.
401370 tn?1233324682 Hello...my understanding is that Aleve is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. (Naprosyn) It is a great medication, however it is known to affect some people with gastrointestinal distress. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn I have swollen knuckles, I have tried oral mobic, it's not helping so much, I've tried aspercreme, nothing there either. Is there a good rub on cream for joint inflammation? What is it?
Avatar n tn i'm on a prescription anti-inflammatory. i take mobic 7.5 mgs twice a day. my shoulder aches alot, but i didn't wnt to do an MRI yet, so i asked if i could try the anti-inflammatory first. i think i've been on it for 2 weeks. I've also been starting to get pain deep inside my hip joint--i don't even know how to describe exactly where it is.
Avatar f tn The Doctor performing the ultra sound said I had a mild inflammatory arthritis and an autoimmune disease. I really want to know what I might have because it will be June before I can get back in to see the doctor. If anybody has an idea, please help. Also, will this affect my fertility in any way? BTW I am getting really fat and depressed!
Avatar m tn ve had two rest periods with overall 4 months length and taken lots of anti-inflammatory drugs and NSAIDs. But after my first shoot the pain recurred. The last two doctors proposed arthroscopy, PRP, ultrasonic treatments and taking other medicines including Mobic and piascledine or even not exercising for more than 6 months. I am totally lost and I don't know which one is of more certainty. I appreciate it if you can help me out with this chronic problem.
3122657 tn?1357432602 But if you have real joint pain you may need to ask your Dr. about anti inflammatory drugs. One is called mobic generic for (???). Dr. Mayo (yes the real mayo!!!) had me on it. I quit taking it because its not good for the heart. My hearts in good shape & I want to keep it like that!!!! But that would definitely be for a Dr. to decide. And yourself of course. I will say---they do work!!! Let me know if it lifts on its own or what???
Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
Avatar n tn Instead of treating my allergy symptoms, my doctor prescribed an anti-inflammatory medicine called Mobic. My doctor said that the pressure made my facial bones super sensitive to the touch. Mobic has worked pretty well - might be worth a shot!

168348 tn?1379357075 Hi, I ask this question because both a member on the Arthritis Community, and myself have seen a corelation between taking NSAID for arthritis and depletion of Vit D ... is this just coincidence or is there a possible connection?

Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!

Avatar f tn ve been on anti-inflammatories for months, the last being Mobic (meloxicam). About a week ago, I had a couple of days of palpitations (95 to 110 b.p.m.) constantly. I went to my pain doctor and he noticed it was unusually fast so he told me to stop the Mobic. I had all day fast heart rate for next two days. It's much better now; however, about a week ago, i woke up at around 4:00 a.m. with heart pressure.
Avatar f tn I am not sure what I have the doctors are not sure what I have, I have had one tell me I have pure sensory neuropathy one tell me no I dont, but all I know is the pain in my feet and my toes is somtimes unbareable and it is not really pain it is buzzing like you toes are asleep or numb constantly all I know is when I take the medication mobic they dont hurt as bad. Does anyone experience this type of problem? I am having trouble with my gastro as well. Does that have anything to do with it?
Avatar f tn t feel like battery acid is Keflex. Every NSAID I have tried feels like battery acid (ibuprophen, mobic). My doc put me on methylprednisolone as a last ditch effort and EVEN THAT feels like battery acid, but unlike with all the others.. after the medication left my system I felt 100% like a normal, pain free, human being. I desperately, desperately want to continue with steroid therapy but I don't know what to try next.
1516809 tn?1345082764 Both provided no relief. She then changed me to Mobic 15Mg and Gabapentin, which also provided no relief. I then was prescribed Dicoflenac pills, went off the Gabapentin, and then was prescribed Tramadol. Well the Tramadol does provide relief for the pain. I find that I need to take 150 mg, 50mg every six hours for relief and especially before bedtime so I can sleep without feeling discomfort in my legs. I never experience any pain in my lower back.
Avatar m tn If it is just fluid collection then you can try ice pack, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Aleve or Mobic followed by physiotherapy. Also, physiotherapy has to be done under expert guidance. Please consult your doctor. Take care! Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
533063 tn?1262366101 Water is a very think liquid and can trigger reflux! Esp on an empty stomach! That coupled with any med can cause heartburn but I'm not a doc .. just a patient like you on Synthroid. I am also on an anti inflammatory and at times I get real heartburn after eating .. like immedaitely, but that's a side effect of Mobic med .. I'm fine on Synthroid but I can relate.
