Avatar m tn Apply ice, and take a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Aleve or Mobic. You will need X-rays of the lower spine, pelvis and hip to see if you have a bony injury. The swelling could be a contusion (which will respond to the above treatment) or it could be a hematoma (localized collection of blood which may get re-absorbed or may need drainage). Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!
Avatar n tn I would suggest talking to a pharmacist about an OTC anti-inflammatory to see what you can do - as well as search for anti-inflammatory foods etc to see if any of that helps?

Avatar f tn There are many, many medications available to treat not only the pain and inflammation, but also slow down and hopefully halt the progression of the disease itself. The frustrating part is finding the right medication or combination of meds for you - no two people respond the same way to the same medications. My "cocktail" is Enbrel and methotrexate, plus an anti-inflammatory called meloxicam (Mobic). These three meds only scratch the surface of what's available. Good luck!
Avatar n tn They do help, but are expensive. There was another patch with an anti-inflammatory in it, but I am taking mobic orally, which helps me more.
401370 tn?1233324682 Hello...my understanding is that Aleve is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. (Naprosyn) It is a great medication, however it is known to affect some people with gastrointestinal distress. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn Though, since you are using a topical treatment it will only relieve some of the pain and inflamation for a temporary relief. I would suggest using an anti-inflammatory medicine as well.
Avatar f tn I would look for some alternatives if you need them. They are limited but there. Non steroidal anti inflammatory medications do have documented affects on the heart including raising blood pressure. They work so well for pain and immflamation that it is a real shame. Some will have more of an effect than others. To note, Mobic is also an Nsaid. But perhaps has less heart effect. Here's an article I found helpful https://www.health.harvard.
Avatar m tn ve had two rest periods with overall 4 months length and taken lots of anti-inflammatory drugs and NSAIDs. But after my first shoot the pain recurred. The last two doctors proposed arthroscopy, PRP, ultrasonic treatments and taking other medicines including Mobic and piascledine or even not exercising for more than 6 months. I am totally lost and I don't know which one is of more certainty. I appreciate it if you can help me out with this chronic problem.
Avatar n tn Instead of treating my allergy symptoms, my doctor prescribed an anti-inflammatory medicine called Mobic. My doctor said that the pressure made my facial bones super sensitive to the touch. Mobic has worked pretty well - might be worth a shot!

3122657 tn?1357432602 But if you have real joint pain you may need to ask your Dr. about anti inflammatory drugs. One is called mobic generic for (???). Dr. Mayo (yes the real mayo!!!) had me on it. I quit taking it because its not good for the heart. My hearts in good shape & I want to keep it like that!!!! But that would definitely be for a Dr. to decide. And yourself of course. I will say---they do work!!! Let me know if it lifts on its own or what???

Avatar f tn First at all you put yourself into that because of the excessive NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) consumption, this are the enemy number one for the stomach and are able to dig a big hole on it... once the stomach is irritated the esophagus come next and gets burned with the digestive acids. As a clear example just imagine an oral thrush how painful and uncomfortable is... well, that same thing but inside your stomach and esophagus...
Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...
Avatar f tn I still see a physiatrist for injections in my back and treatment for a labral tear in my hip. He prescribes Mobic (anti-inflammatory) and neurontin for me. I called last Friday for refills for them and was told he wouldn't refill them because I was "getting medication from another doctor". At first I denied that, and then realized what they were talking about...I had surgery on December 18th and filled one script of 25 Vicodin.
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!

Avatar f tn I had been diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome since 2013. I walked with a limp and I had many other issues as well. I was doing physical therapy for about a year and a half. I now have a home PT exercise program I do. It helped along with the anti-inflammatory medication I was given (Mobic or Meloxicam) and with the help of Tramadol (Ultram) and Melatonin for sleep. When I turned 18 I thought it would be a good idea to see an adult Rheumatologist.
Avatar m tn Please consult your doctor regarding this. Meanwhile, rest the affected joint, apply ice pack, take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Tylenol, Aleve or Mobic, and wear protective gears (knee cap, elbow cap etc), and braces. Hope you get well soon! Good Luck and take care!
Avatar n tn Have been perscribed Diclofenac (the generic for Voltaren), an anti-inflammatory drug for my back problem. Has anyone any experience with this drug? Or any knowledge whether anti-inflammatory drugs, in general, can cause palpitations or AFIB? Any feedback would be appreciated...thanks!
