Common Questions and Answers about Mobic inflammation

mobic

Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with "noodle leg" today. Have had MS since 2006 on Neurontin & Mobic not really working, by my PCP, any suggestions please. I'm dragging my left leg now, its turning inward, pain, numbness & tingling, weakness. I'm falling more as well. Pain in shoulders, arms & hands as well. Terrible insomnia.
Avatar f tn Starting this new anti-inflammation med and I read it could cause weight gain and swelling.....anyone have this as a symptom? How well does it work? Have a lot of pain from herniated discs in my neck and back.
Avatar f tn There are many, many medications available to treat not only the pain and inflammation, but also slow down and hopefully halt the progression of the disease itself. The frustrating part is finding the right medication or combination of meds for you - no two people respond the same way to the same medications. My "cocktail" is Enbrel and methotrexate, plus an anti-inflammatory called meloxicam (Mobic). These three meds only scratch the surface of what's available. Good luck!
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
Avatar f tn t happen at night for me. I have Lupus. Are you taking anything that can help with the inflammation beyond Plaquenil?
Avatar f tn I have swollen knuckles, I have tried oral mobic, it's not helping so much, I've tried aspercreme, nothing there either. Is there a good rub on cream for joint inflammation? What is it?
Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...
Avatar f tn Always remember that we know our bodies best and know that you are not going crazy. I know we look to our Dr's for answers and it gets so frustrating when they either don't make any sense or they don't have any. Being in LimboLand is not easy. Has your IM Dr done any bloodwork to look for an inflammatory process like RA or Lupus? Or done an ESR to check for inflammation? I am glad to hear that Mobic is working for you.
Avatar f tn tried enbrel, mtx, simponi, mobic, ibuprof. and more. Thinking of cataflam, arthrotec. If something has helped your ra pain pls reply. Narcotics are out I drive for a living. Thank you.
711326 tn?1297868510 Anyone try Fertile CM and have any luck with it? I've been diagnosed with Costochondritis - - Tietze's Syndrome which is inflammation in the sternum and arthritis basically. They have me on mobic, zyrtec, zantex and ultrium for pain. Embarassed to say but lately it seem like I am dried up and not able to produce any CM even when it comes to BD'ing. I've read great reviews on it but wonder if anyone has tried it here and had any luck.
Avatar m tn However, since the pain/headache is increasing, it is important to show this to a doctor once. Apply ice pack to reduce the inflammation. non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Tylenol, Aleve or Mobic. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar f tn I have taken two days worth of meloxecam or mobic. The swelling is down some but it is still tender to the touch. Could this be the beginning of rejection?
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if mobic is addictive? My doctor switched me to them today from loratab. I am glad because the loratab really is addictive and I would rather not have my body relying on anything. I have been on the loratab for a little over a year now and I feel like crap if I miss a day and go without it. Not only am I in pain (because of female problems and my back) but I feel like I have the flu. How long will I feel that way without it? since I switch my meds today.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar f tn However, I was on mobic for my wrist and that did not help at all so I had to get a cortisone shot in my wrist. It seemed to help, but the pain is already back and stronger than ever. Now I have a cold, wet feeling in my thumb. I grabbed a random photo off the Net and circled the place as to where I feel that sort of feeling. I never had the feeling before. I'm also limited on my mobility and my right ankle is pretty swelled up as well.
Avatar m tn Hello....i have the same problem.....it maybe TMJ....i thought it was a ear infection at first because my ear hurt so bad,my head, neck and shoulder hurt also... i couldnt sleep....i went to my doc and he prescribed.."mobic" for pain and inflammation..and "flexirel" to relaxe the muscles...and a mouthguard (i grind my teeth)to sleep with..anduonly take the meds when u need them.i know it sounds kinda crazy but u should ask your doc to check you........
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
1044813 tn?1370494406 Sure, we can add Mobic/Meloxicam to the Pain Tracker for you. In the meantime, please use NSAIDs, since meloxicam is a type of NSAID and this is already available on the tracker.
Avatar m tn I've called several Orthopedic Clinics in my area and they have all told me that ribs are not part of their specialty. I can accept that, but I don't know where else to go. I noticed the ribs were assymetrical about 7 or 8 years ago, while I was in college. It didn't hurt too much, but I went to the free clinic on the campus to ask about it any way. The doctor told me to take ibuprofen if it bothered me and, in so many words, to stop wasting her time.
Avatar m tn To discuss broadly, your symptoms of a swollen meatus with redness and skin chaffing can be due to meatitis or infection/inflammation of meatus, urethritis or infection/inflammation of urethra or due to balanoposthitis (inflammation of glans penis and foreskin). In all cases the cause can be either a STD or a non-STD infection. If you have been sexually active, then it is important to test for STDs, bacterial vaginosis and fungal infection. Non-STD infections can be either bacterial or fungal.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am new to the forum and am hoping to get some help. I am a 50yo F and I have felt generally unwell for several years. I have had my thyroid checked and also ANA and subsequent markers for autoimmune disease. While I have multiple symptoms of both (more thyroid until recently), none of my blood tests have been positive except for a mildly elevated ANA.
