Mobic for inflammation

Common Questions and Answers about Mobic for inflammation

mobic

Avatar f tn There are many, many medications available to treat not only the pain and inflammation, but also slow down and hopefully halt the progression of the disease itself. The frustrating part is finding the right medication or combination of meds for you - no two people respond the same way to the same medications. My "cocktail" is Enbrel and methotrexate, plus an anti-inflammatory called meloxicam (Mobic). These three meds only scratch the surface of what's available. Good luck!
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
Avatar f tn I'm with Cindee on this one, firstly what type of Dr. dx you? People can have more than one type of arthritis at the same time, if you haven't already you need to see a Rheumatologist and get all new labs done. I take Enbrel for my disease ( AS), my last rheumy gave me a RX for Lyrica which I did not even bother filling, not interested in gaining weight thank you! If you've been on Mobic for a long time it is entirely possible your body is no longer responding to it.
Avatar f tn ve tried aspercreme, nothing there either. Is there a good rub on cream for joint inflammation? What is it?
Avatar f tn As ess said, NSAIDs are not effective when trying to combat inflammation caused by MS. MS inflammation responds to steroids administered in large doses (1,000mg/day for 5 days). the only thign Neurontin will help with is nerve pain. It is not likely to have any effect on muscle weakness. Have you discussed your symptoms with your neurologist?
Avatar f tn I was on Mobic for a year or so and never had any issues besides stomach pain (which any NSAID's can cause) I get stomach pain with any NSAID's. Mobic wasn't really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex.
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
Avatar f tn t happen at night for me. I have Lupus. Are you taking anything that can help with the inflammation beyond Plaquenil?
Avatar f tn Always remember that we know our bodies best and know that you are not going crazy. I know we look to our Dr's for answers and it gets so frustrating when they either don't make any sense or they don't have any. Being in LimboLand is not easy. Has your IM Dr done any bloodwork to look for an inflammatory process like RA or Lupus? Or done an ESR to check for inflammation? I am glad to hear that Mobic is working for you.
Avatar f tn tried enbrel, mtx, simponi, mobic, ibuprof. and more. Thinking of cataflam, arthrotec. If something has helped your ra pain pls reply. Narcotics are out I drive for a living. Thank you.
168348 tn?1379357075 Christy, at the same time of this *pesky* virus I was on two diff. types of antibiotics for a bad urinary tract infection (Levaquin for 10 days and then Bactrim for 10 days) and now I am cured of the UTI and left with this so probably the virus/infection did a # on the stomach, too, and there is inflammation I bet. Stella, I was taking the Acidophillus during the 3 weeks of antibiotic therapy and stopped so I will begin it again and have plenty in the house!
711326 tn?1297868510 Anyone try Fertile CM and have any luck with it? I've been diagnosed with Costochondritis - - Tietze's Syndrome which is inflammation in the sternum and arthritis basically. They have me on mobic, zyrtec, zantex and ultrium for pain. Embarassed to say but lately it seem like I am dried up and not able to produce any CM even when it comes to BD'ing. I've read great reviews on it but wonder if anyone has tried it here and had any luck.
Avatar m tn Thank you for your advice.
Avatar n tn My mama used to take Mobic and it helped her back alot. Unfortunately for her, it upset her stomach so she quit taking it with no side effects following. Best wishes.
401370 tn?1233324682 Long term, higher o-t-c dosing needs to be monitored by a Dr. to be certain no ulcerations or irritation occurs. I am on Mobic NSAID prescription and need to have bloodwork done ev. 3 mos for kidney function, and am told to be aware of any acid reflux indicators as a side effect not to brush off lightly while on NSAID's.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar f tn I have taken two days worth of meloxecam or mobic. The swelling is down some but it is still tender to the touch. Could this be the beginning of rejection?
Avatar f tn However, I was on mobic for my wrist and that did not help at all so I had to get a cortisone shot in my wrist. It seemed to help, but the pain is already back and stronger than ever. Now I have a cold, wet feeling in my thumb. I grabbed a random photo off the Net and circled the place as to where I feel that sort of feeling. I never had the feeling before. I'm also limited on my mobility and my right ankle is pretty swelled up as well.
Avatar m tn Hello....i have the same problem.....it maybe TMJ....i thought it was a ear infection at first because my ear hurt so bad,my head, neck and shoulder hurt also... i couldnt sleep....i went to my doc and he prescribed.."mobic" for pain and inflammation..and "flexirel" to relaxe the muscles...and a mouthguard (i grind my teeth)to sleep with..anduonly take the meds when u need them.i know it sounds kinda crazy but u should ask your doc to check you........
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar m tn I am taking mobic for chronic back pain, however i was recently prescribed vicodin to take in unison with the mobic. I need to know how dangerous if at all the combination of the two can be, and if i need to be aware of additional side effects?
Avatar m tn Enough that if you are on a low sodium diet you should talk to your doctor before taking this drug. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn As of right now I am taking Tylenol-Codeine (for pain), Gabapentin, and Baclofen (for sleep). I was also just prescribed Savella for the pain. I am concerned because my pain with Tramadol was fine (it kept e within comfortable range with Mobic) and the doctor keeps giving me these pills I don't need. I only asked for something for the stiffness. They told me that Fibromyalgia is non-inflammatory so it doesn't need an anti-inflammatory.
Avatar m tn Meds Doxy 3 times Cipro 2 times Flomax Mobic I was told by a urologist I have Prostatitis due to inflammation in my prostate fluid that he massaged out. My urine which I held for 5 hours post this was completely clear he said. Does this sound like Prostatitis or should I keep searching out a clinic and expect to be a different answer. I was a healthy happily married 26 year old male before I made the worst mistake of my life.
