Mobic for migraines

Common Questions and Answers about Mobic for migraines

mobic

Avatar f tn Could be migraines. Does it throb right behind your left eye??? I've had migraines for years (comes with having 4 kids I think-ha); the only meds that help relieve most of the pain are Zomig (really expensive, but no generic version yet) and Meloxicam (generic for Mobic) - both pills taken together usually decrease pain within an hour or two. Hope this helps. My doc also suggested Imitrex when I can't afford the Zomig anymore.
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
635402 tn?1270162477 Hi everyone I have tried many things for my intense headaches, while they try and figure out the cause. The have tried pain management techniques, chiropractic therapy, bio feed back, the list goes on. They have tried morphine, and vicodin among other drugs they and these did not help. They are trying Meloxicam usually just called Mobic.
Avatar f tn I'm with Cindee on this one, firstly what type of Dr. dx you? People can have more than one type of arthritis at the same time, if you haven't already you need to see a Rheumatologist and get all new labs done. I take Enbrel for my disease ( AS), my last rheumy gave me a RX for Lyrica which I did not even bother filling, not interested in gaining weight thank you! If you've been on Mobic for a long time it is entirely possible your body is no longer responding to it.
787406 tn?1339203183 t check for anything. Bloodwork for DNA Antibody Myasthenia Gravis test came back negative. My EEG came back abnormal as focal other of left and right temporal lobe and was put on Depakote and it worked for a week and then I had side effects and had to be taken off of it, Neurologist decided not to try anything else. Opthamologist and neuro Opthamologist still think I have Myasthenia Gravis and Sjogrens.
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
Avatar n tn My mama used to take Mobic and it helped her back alot. Unfortunately for her, it upset her stomach so she quit taking it with no side effects following. Best wishes.
401370 tn?1233324682 Long term, higher o-t-c dosing needs to be monitored by a Dr. to be certain no ulcerations or irritation occurs. I am on Mobic NSAID prescription and need to have bloodwork done ev. 3 mos for kidney function, and am told to be aware of any acid reflux indicators as a side effect not to brush off lightly while on NSAID's.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar m tn I am taking mobic for chronic back pain, however i was recently prescribed vicodin to take in unison with the mobic. I need to know how dangerous if at all the combination of the two can be, and if i need to be aware of additional side effects?
Avatar m tn Enough that if you are on a low sodium diet you should talk to your doctor before taking this drug. Hope this helps.
1044813 tn?1370494406 Thanks for the suggestion, and we will certainly look into adding that.
Avatar n tn hey, i saw this post was from last year but i thought i'd see if you've found any relief. i have all the same symptoms and they're driving me crazy!
Avatar n tn Thanks for responding. I have been put on Mobic for a knee problem, which has now resolved. I hoping that my pain Dr. will agree to let me stop the narcotic pain meds and try to use the Mobic and epidurals. I really don't know what is worse-the steroids in the epidurals or staying on Percocet. It would be OK if I really felt it was helping, but I don't. I had a sciatica flare up about 3 months ago, and had to go on Oxycontin 20mg for a few weeks.
Avatar f tn My doctor has me on steroids for a week to see if it will help. it is not. My intial diagnosis was migraines but didn't quite fit and trigeminal neuralgia which didn't quite fit. I have had 2 MRI's and a CT scan as well as lots of blood work which all came back normal. At my last visit my doctor said he doesn't know what is causing the pain above my mouth and through my head. i go to a large teaching faciltiy. Should I get a second opinion?
Avatar f tn I have swollen knuckles, I have tried oral mobic, it's not helping so much, I've tried aspercreme, nothing there either. Is there a good rub on cream for joint inflammation? What is it?
Avatar f tn I was just prescribed mobic and I just wondered if it's afdictive
479419 tn?1208127685 I have the exact same thing happening to me and I take relpax for my migraines and I am in pain at least every other week and it is crazy! I hate it! I found this because I too was searching for answers. I suggest you try each suggestion until you find one that works for you. The suggestions include: hot shower, steam from boiling water, over the counter decongestion, wet warm towel over the head, humidifer, lots of water, leave window cracked in winter, clear dust, drink hot tea.
493368 tn?1209757681 Mobic 15mgs has worked very well for my severe ankle tibial tendonitis and moderate arthritis coupled with physical therapy which helped restore my range of motion which was 60% lost at the time of therapy. However, the tendonitis can not be helped any furthe (I wear orthotics _ high top sneakrs and a splint brace to sleep at night) The mobic helps the arthritis alot for me & I've been on it 1.5yrs with normal blood labs.
3122657 tn?1357432602 But if you have real joint pain you may need to ask your Dr. about anti inflammatory drugs. One is called mobic generic for (???). Dr. Mayo (yes the real mayo!!!) had me on it. I quit taking it because its not good for the heart. My hearts in good shape & I want to keep it like that!!!! But that would definitely be for a Dr. to decide. And yourself of course. I will say---they do work!!! Let me know if it lifts on its own or what???
Avatar f tn He has been taking Lisinopril for high blood pressure a little over a year. He has been taking Naproxen for arthritis for several years. We have not been able to isolate a trigger for the Afib other than his controlled blood pressure. Now I am reading that a side effect of Naproxen use is high blood pressure. Has any one else encountered this?
Avatar n tn husband was just switched from mobic to gabapentin for nueropathy symptoms he suffers from, he now is having extremely low glucose readings some don't even register on his meter. We need to know if it could be interaction between it and other meds he takes. Currently he takes humilin N&R, levoxyl, prevacid, and mild dose aspirin.
1699107 tn?1307306696 I feel for you. Tramhater is right there are other things to help with pain, like Mobic. You may have rebound pain also, which is caused when you wd your body increases pain so take more pills.
