Common Questions and Answers about Miscarriage rates risks

miscarriage

Avatar f tn All kinds of numbers and miscarriage rates are running around out there after a heart beat is seen, I have seen from 5 to 10% quoted. It sounds like you are doing all the right things and things are going great. Hope this helps, not sure there is an answer.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome, when not having any vagina sores your best approach is not transmission rates but how often it sheds, meaning the virus in on the surface with no visible sores at the time and sheding for hsv1 genital is only 3-5% of the time which is incredibly low. So with this in mind, using condoms and taking valtrex your risk would be as close to zero as one could get.
2863077 tn?1436670789 When does the risks of miscarriage go down? I am 14 weeks today and at week 7 I had an ultrasound and the heartbeat was 136 bpm. I get to hear the heartbeat again via doppler in a week and 1 day. I had a miscarriage last year at 12 weeks and 3 days. It's pretty hard to relax, so what do you guys think?
Avatar f tn After you see the heartbeat, the risk of miscarriage drops to approximately 5%, so long as no other complications are present and there is no vaginal bleeding. You can Google miscarriage rates by week also and it will give you some good info. Good luck!
Avatar f tn ) Anyway, the long and short of it is that nobody knows for sure if the risks are high of miscarriage if you have a septum. (Some women probably go their whole lives with normal pregnancies and never even learn they have them.) I didn't have an issue.
Avatar m tn Since amnio causes a small risk of miscarriage I will first see if the benefits outweight the risks. I would not do it unlees they can treat the humerus bone in the womb. If they can't treated in the womb what good would it do? If it will give you peace on mind than that's fine. But like BTS1022 said "babies bones and joints grow at different rates in the uterus Best wishes.
782720 tn?1236125785 If you read the literature, you will see studies showing an increased risk of miscarriage associated with low heart rates, but that has not been my experience. I hope you have another scan coming up soon, if the heart rate rises into the 160-170 range within the next few weeks, I bet you will do OK. I'm pulling for you! Good luck!
Avatar n tn I do feel some I think ovulation pain. Last dose is tomorrow. What is the risks of having another miscarriage if I get pregnant NOW during my ovulation since I just recently had one. I probably should have waited til next cycle but I am just anxious...not getting any younger and I am a high risk. My youngest daughter was premature and born 2 months early...She's fine of course. However I delivered a son on 06/22/09 and he was too early and didn't survive.
Avatar n tn I have heard that it is more difficult for a man to contract the virus from an infected female, is this correct? I have tried to find transmittal rates, but the only ones I have found are when suppressive therapy is involved. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? I am close to having sex with her, but still feel a little uneasy. Whenever we do, I will use condoms, but I understand that this is only 30-40% effective. Any advice anyone can give is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
655897 tn?1328018445 So right now its like I am having a miscarriage of one, but still pregnant with the other. I just want this one to be ok!
Avatar m tn I have cataracts that must be operated on.
Avatar n tn success rates are high--typically about 80%. The risks are low. Are the success rates and risks different in Portugal? I don't know. Are you able to speak to a cardiologist who can give you that information?
Avatar f tn So it increases baby temp, can prolonged thermal exposure eventually cause miscarriage? How about reverse, too cold temps for too long?
2118793 tn?1342449463 Ive heard you are more fertile after a miscarriage. I'm sorry to hear about your loss and I hope your next pregnancy is a healthy smooth 9 months.
Avatar f tn We just started dating a few weeks ago. My question is this - what are the transmission risks / rates when engaging in oral sex? I am on daily meds, she isn't. I have never transmitted to anyone orally in my 10+ years. I have heard that HSV2 is not easily transferred from genitals to mouth? Is this correct? It is my understsnding that HSV2 prefers the genital environment. Can anyone provide transmission rates / statistics or medical expertise?
Avatar f tn I was surfing around ( cause I was worrying about 2 trimester mc rates) and found this site http://www.amazingpregnancy.com/pregnancy-articles/337.html Hope it helps ease someones mind.
Avatar f tn IVF is not guaranteed. The embryo might not "take," and if it does, you are still subject to all the same miscarriage risks and other risks to pregnancy that anyone else is.
Avatar m tn he did not ejaculate in my mouth or on me. This is the first time I had sexual contact with a man or a risky partner. Also, we did not have anal sex, and I never had any STD before. What diseases should I get checked for? How high are the risks for each disease?
Avatar f tn All the information I have found is consistent - a VBAC is safer than a cesarean. There are risks to either but overall vaginal birth is better for baby. I would at least try for a vaginal birth and know that because of your previous cesarean they will be set up and ready "in the wings" for a cesarean if things aren't looking favorable.
