m going to have to go through my supplements and meds. The only new med is the Pramipexole .05 twice a day (Mirapex). The supplements are Sam-E, D 2000, A and Magnesium 250 twice a day. I'm going to cut the Pramipexole to once a day. Does anyone see if any one of these would cause this or is there a virus going around?
Has anyone tried Pramipexole (Mirapex, Mirapexin, Sifrol) for chronic pain? I have had low back pain for about 15 years now. I finally got someone to do an MRI back in June (I think, it was slightly before summer 2016) and they found a herniated disc at L4-L5 and a degenerated disc at L5-S1. The neurosurgeon decided surgery wasn't worth the risk and pain treatment was the best option.
Yesterday my doctor prescribed me Mirapex Pramipexole Dihydrochloride tablets 0.125mg. I took two before bed and no RLS! I slept for 12 hours! BTW I'm down to one 10mg oxyneo and one 5mg oxtcocet. Staying like this for another day and than hitting ground zero tomorrow. Praying it won't be to bad, but with this new med for RLS I think I'm gong to be OK.
Medications used are iron supplements, carbidopa- levodopa, opioids, carbamazepine, clonazepam, baclofen, temazepam,bromocriptine etc. other drugs are ropinirole, pramipexole or mirapex you are already taking, gabapentin etc also can be tried under .your neurologist prescription. Other alternatives are warm/cold baths, electric nerve stimulation, oral magnesium, and acupuncture . Anxiety may aggravate symptoms and needs to be controlled. Take care.
mirapex and requip... it seems they increase the dopamine levels with some side effects not to get overlooked by someone with addiction issues... The poster shared her experience with mirapex of getting addicted to gambling. It can happen. She even left a link of a documental made in Canada about this terrible effect of mirapex.
So just in case, be aware of this or research in case you are given those meds.
I have been on Ropinerole for some years - 2mg @ 6pm, another 1mg at 3am. This has kept the RLS under control but about 7pm has sent me to sleep - most inconvenient for evening meetings! Today my specialist put me on Gabapentin - 100mg twice a day for one week, increasing by 100mg per dose per week up to 600mg in the sixth week. I have therefore stopped the Ropinerole. What I forget to ask is what time of day/night it is best to take the Gabapentin capsules.
i am sorry that any of us who is suffering from this drugs effects i hope there is something that can be done an reverse what this has done to us...if anyone has had simaler side effects as me plz let me know i am a nervous wreck....

You might want to, if money allows, try a pain clinic that teaches techniques such as biofeedback and deep breathing and meditation. Some people have found they can significantly decrease the amount of medication they use through these techniques. Might not work, but worth a try, because on that many meds you're going to have a lot of side effects, especially the oxy, but not limited to it.
He determined this to be rare side effects from Requip. Took me off straightaway. I hated that because it worked so well, but side effects were intolerable. This as of April 28th. Was started on Sinemet. Was told this does not work as well as Requip, but was less likely to have same side effects. Said he could add darvocet if necesary.Also take ativan 1mg 3 x daily since the brain surgery, and 1-2 at night for help with sleep. Every other sleep aid made above symptoms worse.

Has anyone used a patch? The only med I take is pramipexole.
/8 hrs), this formula has worked great for me for both pain and RLS. however with all these medications are going to have their own side effects or maybe the side effects from this one will be different than the other.
About norcotic pain medication-- you need to get into pain management, and what's with that pain management doctor to get stronger medication.
I start taking meds as stated on the bottle faithlfully for a week during which I get a major head ache for three days (one of side effects) figured fine it will go away, and it did, next my daughter asked me what was wrong with me. I asked why she said you are not yourself you are not talking you just sit there. I didn't notice a change then on the 7th day I had a major melt down hives uncontrolable crying, the feeling of being lost major uncontrolable shaking.
