mirapex

Avatar f tn I had the same problem. My doc also prescribed miralax. Im already swamped with other meds, so I decided to go natural to reduce the constipation. Try eating brown (wheat) instead of white and lots of green veggies (greens, spinach). It has done wonders for me.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me to take miralax and to increase my water intake.
Avatar f tn The beginning of my pregnancy my OB said I could take miralax to help with constipation, but now that I am 37w4d is it safe to take? I don't want to take it if it's going to affect baby in any way.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had miralax?
408448 tn?1286883821 I have been having okay results since June with Miralax and Colace. A few weeks ago I began having what looks to be blood in the stool. I told my onc right away. She said do not worry. It is probably from a blood vessel bursting. Well, I tried not to worry, but it did not work! Could the Miralax be the trouble?
Avatar f tn I am 10wks preggo and was wondering if Miralax is safe to take for constipation during pregnancy....I am very constipated and have been drinking Metamucil 2 times a day without any effectiveness....my husband is a pharmacist and says that it is safe because it doesn't enter the bloodstream, but I do not want to take something unless I know that it is safe. I have seen where it is category c. Thanks for your help....
Avatar n tn My son has been on MIraLax for two weeks due to large diameter stools (no other problems just LARGE). His BM's are everyday now, still a bit large in diameter, how long should it take for his bowels/intestine to return to a "normal" size? I'd like to start reducing the Miralax but fear the intestines aren't back to normal yet. Unknown to me he's had this problem for a long time. Unfortunately after your child starts going to bathroom by himself, you stop looking!
Avatar m tn you can take miralax every day is better and it works really fast make the stool to be soft and easy to eliminate .
999780 tn?1263671971 He then put him on a strict diet and a maintenance of Miralax. He was slowly weened off that and was okay for a short while. He then started holding back his poop.It was so traumatic for him and us that we couldn't go anywhere. We then went back to the G.I. dr and he tested his thyroid and celiac which all came our negative. He was then put back on Miralax. I had heard negative things about it so I changed him to Magnesium Sterate.
Avatar f tn he told me that I could use miralax and gatorade and it would be fine..I mean really I got the bathroom anywhere from 2 to 7 times a day, the prep is all I need to push me over the top...so I am hoping that I will be able to tolerate the prep and the colonoscopy will go fine. A couple of other things, I do take things over the counter to attempt to slow down this condition..
Avatar n tn This is on top of a strong oral medication (Amitiza) and magnesium. With Miralax, I get the stuff in the bottle and take 1 1/2 capfuls once a day and as needed.
Avatar m tn I am 44 years old female who underwent tummy tuck for excessive skin (3 kids) in Dec 2007. Prior to the tummy tuck I lead a very healthy and active ( 5'5 and 124lbs) life. Since the surgery I have had tremendous stomach pain with even worse constipation (had prior constipation). I am unable to eat or drink much of anything without feeling bloated with extreme pain in stomach region. Have had endoscopy (and capsule endoscopy), colonscopy, upper and lower bowels tests.
Avatar n tn He went to the doctor before and he was so backed up on bowel m ovements it showed on the x-ra. Now the doctor prescribed miralax and supporties (both over the counter), and they have been working. Lately with the new syptoms arising I have discontinue him on the medicine. What are some other reasons he may be having these problems. I've been searchng and quite don't understand some of the things they put on the internet for you to understand.
Avatar m tn They have enlarged her intestines and still see no issue. Miralax was what we were told to use but being on Miralax for 6+ years doesn't seem right so we didn't follow with that. She doesn't get spanked by me or her step dad because she is already embarrassed and going poop is extremely painful for her...but her father does spank her. The poop that does come out is the size of a grapefruit, solid and she is almost 8yrs old and less than 40 lbs....
Avatar m tn get miralax at the pharmacy..kids can tolerate fevers much better then adults..make sure he is hydrated and give him tylenol and motrin every 4 hours. you might also want to try an enema...thats what they will do if you take him to the doctors!!
Avatar n tn I take Miralax and have Gastroparesis. I can't have a BM without the Miralax!!!! It has truly been a God sent to me! I have a spastic colon and, well needless to say the Miralax is the best tasting, no side effect product out there!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!! My daughter who is 12 (almost 13) takes it occasionally (only a half cap full) when she's stopped up. I've tried just about every other "helper" out there on the market and Miralax is by far the best!
Avatar f tn I took miralax ( may be spelled wrong ) it's a stool softener I didnt want to give myself the runs . But it helped move the bowel movement and made it not hurt .
Avatar f tn Add fruit to your diet and it should get better. I also take these gummy bears called fiber advance. It's for kids, but my doctor says it's fine. It helped me alot. Then I make sure to eat more fruit and I've been more regular.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your comment, My daughter pediatrician did a Cat Scan and they did see that she was very backed up and suggested to give my daughter some MiraLax. Although they did mentioned that they seen a little acid reflux their. But they had mentioned it was caused of her constipation for me not to worry. At this moment I do worrie because she is too small to have so much constipation. Thanks for letting me know about the Flax seed oil. I was not aware about that.
Avatar n tn Told us to give him Miralax for a couple of days to relieve the bowel. He did take X-rays prior to, to see how much was backed up and how far up the intestines it was. X-ray showed pretty constipated. Did what the dr asked and they did another X-ray and it showed he was completely cleared of bowel both in the intestines and rectum area. Said it was okay to take him off the Miralax and go back to regular meals and activity. Soon after that appointment, he was again pooping in his pants.
Avatar f tn Miralax worked for me! Eat lots of fiber rich foods.
Avatar f tn This time it was 3 weeks with nothing coming out so i took miralax for a couple days and then had a lot of diarreha so i stopped the miralax and 2 days layer every morning i wld go to the bathroom but it wld be long very thin or flat ribbon like. I still feel bloated and uncomfortable. Im so scared about the ribbon stool because everything online says cancer or blockage. Im a 38 yr old female. Also i started the miralax again last night but havent went to the bathroom yet.
Avatar f tn I have done that, you will be fine probably! Miralax really doesn't have much of a taste. Just get a gatorade color you can tolerate. Good luck on your surgery!
Avatar f tn Put her in pull-ups for school too. She can always take them down herself just like underpants if she gets up the nerve to use the loo at school (using the toilet alone in a strange place is very daunting for some kids) but if she has an accident, it's contained. I also agree with allmy about not punishing her. She is doing this out of anxiety of one sort or another, not because she wants to.
Avatar n tn Miralax only gets absorbed in your bowels. It helps by pulling the water into your bowels to help you go and give you softer poop. It doesn't get absorbed into the bloodstream so it won't harm the baby. Class C only means there hasn't been any studies showing there is side effects that will harm the fetus. Doctors prescribe it and suggest it because it is a non-stimulant if taken at the correct dosage.
Avatar f tn I would stop the Miralax completely. The diarrhea you are experienceing may be a residual effect of the Miralax. Try eating a well balanced diet, including some fiber, and if you see no improvement within 2 weeks, see another doctor who will listen and get to the root of the problem. Good luck to you.
Girl ve been taking huge amounts of magnesium oxide which caused swelling in my legs My doctor has suggested taking Miralax 3 times a day which I started last night. I took the second dose this morning and the pain has increased and changed considerably. Is this normal at the beginning? Should I continue until o Get used to it.
