Avatar n tn During the first days of my low-carb diet, I felt bloated too. Take this as a transition period, also since low carb means ingesting more vegetables, some vegs like spinach does cause bloating for me. Increasing fat and meat servings help me a lot. Bloating could also mean you lack some enzymes for particular types of food. Experiments with various food to see which ones most suitable for your digestion.
1451080 tn?1438527660 As a family of 5 with two children and myself being on meds and only one person working, I need some economical low carb ideas for meals and/or snacks. The low carb thing is new to my entire family. Any info would be helpful. Also, any info on how to naturally lower my blood pressure is also welcome. Thanks!
671251 tn?1236116671 It was very cheap and I made salmon cakes which were very good and quick to make. It also said that flax seed and flax seed oil are high in Omega 3 fatty acids without the worry of mercury. Flax seed flour is good to add to foods in place of some of the flour. It has to be ground or crushed to be used by our bodies. Walnuts are another good source too. I found a good recipe for salmon cakes in Joy of Cooking. Here is the recipe I used.
Avatar f tn So here are some natural methods to relieve the symptoms of Fibromyalgia Dietary Guidelines -The daily diet should include milled flax seed, 3 or more tbsp., or cold-pressed, unrefined flax seed oil. Flax seed and its oil contain the essential fatty acid omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid, which the body converts into hormone-like substances called prostaglandins. Prostaglandins help relieve the inflammation of fibromyalgia.
Avatar n tn Hello -- I have been trying to find out whether consuming flax seed would interfere with the efficacy of the taxol / herceptin treatments that I am receiving for my breast cancer. I understand from a study done at the University of Toronto that flax seed may help to eliminate breast cancer. However, I would not want to consume anything that would interfere with my regular medical treatment. The cancer is in the left side of my lymph system. It is estrogen-receptor and HER-2 positive.
Avatar n tn Look up I breathe I'm hungry, wonderful page with great keto recipes. Also look up diabetes daily.

2046312 tn?1360379600 Blend flax seed in coffee blender, mix with peanut or almond butter, and eat on an apple with a glass of milk. This was all I could stomach that early.

I'm sure there are different recipes tho so find one that looks yummy too you. You can always add stiff like peanut butter to make them have more flavor. Some say drink a beer before nursing because of the brewers yeast in it produces milk.. Drink tons of water and also milk helps with milk production.

Avatar n tn i just started treatment with telaprevir, and have used flax seed oil for the fat on one dose and will use it again. the problem with flax seed oil is it goes rancid really fast. so if you are going to use it make sure you buy from a very reliable source that refrigerates the oil and check the date. yesterday i bought an 8 ounce bottle of barlean's flax oil that was pressed on 9/15/10 with an expiration of 3/15/11. so make sure it is supper fresh. rancid oil will cause liver damage.
Avatar n tn It sounds like flax seed (I figured an ointment/liquid form for the eyes, one must read carefully) may be a good ongoing treatment as a simple food additive, if the dog will eat it. Is flax seed a seed? Where does one purchase it - I can check Amazon to see what they offer, but it may be a grocery store item for human consumption. I try to ruse Opt morning and night, and wonder if using it once a day and say "artivicial tears" (for humans) once a day.
1976414 tn?1326171323 can I drink boost with flax seed oil in it for the fat content required for incivek doses
Avatar f tn Yes. Try a low carb diet, as i said, meat, fish, eggs, green vegetables like broccoli in unlimited amounts, healthy fats like fish oil, olive oil, coconut oil for cooking. It would be also great to add 2 tablespoons of milled flax seed's one at morning and one at evening. 3-5 meals a day, 5 better and if you can't then try 4 :) Avoid sunflower oil. Give it a try.
Avatar f tn I saw a naturopath and she has me on an anti-inflammation diet, along with mega dose probiotics, fish oil, milled flax seed, turmeric, mushroom capsules and liver detox. I am also low in vitamin D, so I am taking 4000 units of vitamin D. I have low iron, but I am not currently taking an iron supplement. I started having joint pain ( feet, ankles, knees, lower legs, fingers, wrist, forearms) a few days ago. It is really bad.
6579347 tn?1388502368 Not sure what the flax seed oil or green tea will do for you. Gabapentin is for pain that has no resolution, since it doesn't do anything about the cause. Didn't your orthopedist send you to physical therapy, since I'm assuming it's not serious enough for cortisone or surgery? Most lower back injuries resolve on their own.
