I would take the penicillin hold off on the other to see if the penicillin can handle it.
Saying that...did your dentist prescribe both because you have a bad infection?
I am leery of anything that could add to my liver damage and normally try to get an antibiotic in the penicillin family.
There are times that the risk outweighs the benefit.

I am taking Metronidazole for BV and Penicillan for strep throat but my partner and I have been trying to have sex and I have no sex drive is that affecting it?
My dog was throwing up (looked like human food- I hve no idea where he got it from) and having diarrhea. The vet gave him amforol among penicillin and steroid injection. We took x-rays and the vet said he had imflammatory bowel disease. Since then he's stopped vomitting but still having diarrhea. Now he's on metronidazole. I've read around that metro will help only temporary and that it could cause liver damage.
Has anyone had this problem and will metronidazole fix his problem?
I've had Trich std for 6 years, I was given medications from health care providers twice but I still have the symptoms, discharge, urine smells bad and I even had blood in my urine once. I have only tested positive 6 years ago, when my ex wife gave it to me. After that one time, I never tested positive although I have the symptoms. What is the long term effects and what can I do to finally get rid of this std? Will a penicillin shot get rid of it?
I took a 7 day course of doxycycline, 7 day course of metronidazole, shot of penicillin g, and a shot of Ceftriaxone.
However the doctor said i had strep or bacteria in my urine, so I was prescribed 500 mg of penicillin one tablet 3 times a day.T his was 6/23/12. This didnt help so I went back to the doctor in July and was positive for urinary tract infection and 8/12/2012 was then given 500 mg of metronidazole one tablet twice a day for seven days.This still didnt cure me,, mind u everytime i go back to the doc .. im checked again and I am still positive for trichomonas.
then maybe your doctor meant to write metronidazole 500mg as there is another type of treatment for penicillin allergic patients which includes metronidazole 500mg + clarithromycin 500mg + PPI.
After the treatment which lasts for 7-14 days depending on the severity of the ulcers, you may again test for Helicobacter Pylori.
In cases when the treatment is not effective, it may be repeated, after a period of not less then a week, and it should be performed with a different antibiotic.
About two days later I noticed I came down with a slight sore throat and the next day it was really bad, so that early friday morning I went to the Er because I noticed my tonsils were really swollen with pus spots on them, the doctor diagnosed me with strep throat and gave me 2 penicillin pills that night, I took four the next day that sunday I started to have really bad pelvic pain.

Ketoconazole is therapy for fungal (yeast) infections, not for trichomoniasis. Metronidazole, which you took is the appropriate therapy. Alternately there is a drug called tinidazole which is also highly effective for treatment of trich.
That your tests were negative is not suprising. As your doctor correctly told you, trich is difficult to diagnose in men. Treating you was the right thing to do.

Also after this visit I was over zealous with hygiene and washed my penis with soap, and I noticed it becoming red and itchy subsequently,
A week after this I visited the Gum clinic again and all my previous tests came back negative, by this time my penis tip was turning red and slightly painful on touch

Iam having a terrible toothache the dentist said it is my wisdom tooth growing below my other tooth.She prescribed penicillin due to infections and I have a fever. I am scared to take it thinking that it may affect my babies. I am pregnant with twins.My first pregnancy ended in m/c at 5 1/2/ months.She said its ok for pregnant women to take.I am still taking my progestorones.

I read the CDC guideline to treat NS is 4 x daily IV penicillin for 10-14 days OR intramuscular penicillin 2.4 (penicillin shots) AND 4x Probenecid 500mg everyday for 10-14 days. Consistently, I have found a thread of a person here undergoing the above mentioned outpatient treatment for his NS (surprisingly his titer was also 1:64 to begin with!) but that person was the only one I could find online.

I got infected about 3 weeks ago with Gonorrhea of the throat i had a mild sore throat and just thought it was tonsillitis since i suffer from it a lot i just went to a STD clinic and told me i have Gonorrhea in the throat and since i am extremely allergic to penicillin they gave me 2 gm of Azithromycin to take in a single dose which i did today. Now, since yesterday i have been experiencing some joint discomfort and sever non-stop tingling all over my body.
My question is could this be DGI?
Other antibiotics likely to cause seizures are ciprofloxacin, cefdinir, cephalexin, and penicillin (there are others too like metronidazole and TB drug INH etc). Usually taking vitamin B along with antibiotic prevents the likelihood of seizures. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!

t determine if it was STI related so they gave me azithromycin, flagyl, penicillin injection, diflucan, and zofran for the nausea followed by the medications. I healed up and within a week I felt normal again. Shortly after in March, I was experiencing the same symptoms along with bleeding. I went back to the ER and after 6 hours they told me it was a yeast infection and gave me medications(metronidazole and diflucan) for BV and Trich and YI.
However, if you do need antibiotics after extraction, amoxicillin and metronidazole, erythromycin( erythromycin, azithromycin, clarithromycin) and metronidazole are commonly prescribed for periodontal infection. You may address your condern to your dentist.
