I was given metronidazole to treat Bacterial Vaginosis for twice a day for 5 days, it worked within the 2-3 day the odor cleared up, no itching nothing, however after i finished what i was prescribed to take, i started to have dryness and was itching again , i have phoned the GUM and im not happy with the responce I had as they gave no help or information , but told me to wait until my other results come back for sti's, I dont understand because the treatment has worked but now that ive fini
I am concerned that the short time he was inside of me that I may have been infected? Or is it possible this is just an infection? I took a Vagisil Screening test & it came out as normal PH level.
Your girlfriend can try an over-the-counter medication for infection, such as Vagisil, or see her gynecologist for prescription-strength antiobiotics such as Metronidazole (Flagyl) or clindamycin if her symptoms are extreme.

Thank you for the comment. I did visit my doctor and she told me I became infected with Bacterial Vaginosis after treating myself for the yeast infection. That would explain the foul, "fish-like" odor that developed. She prescribed me metronidazole, a 7-day pill to clear up the infection. Also, she agreed that in the future I should choose Monistat 7 over the 1 or 3 day options, because it is indeed more effective.
But after 4 days, my vulva and urethra started burning. I have been on ceftriaxone, doxycycline, metronidazole, levofloxacin. But vulval burning during urination and urgency are persistent since 3 months.
Ultrasound, cystoscopy, colposcopy, swabs, bloods, urine are all normal. But symptoms are persistent.

Im not sure if its a yeast infection i had one before and even peeing hurt which is not happening now. Its more like an itch on the outside. my husband bought me vagisil maximum strength but it doesnt say whether its okay for pregnant women. I applied a little but panicked a while after and washed it off. has anyone ever used vagisil during pregnancy.
Is it bad to be using vagisil without my dr saying its okay?
I've been using vagisil through out my whole pregnancy :/ didn't even think if its safe or not.
I took metronidazole gel at about 20 weeks for bv and baby is fine now at about 28 weeks
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily).
I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm.
My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night?
I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet.
Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.
