I hope it helps.
Avatar m tn Oral antibiotics can really get rid of the symptoms. Also there are topical meds (metronidazole cream and Klaron, a thin lotion) which help somewhat I guess but are not as effective.
Avatar n tn It has been present for a couple of months now. I have tried everything to get rid of them--zit cream, tea tree oil, Metronidazole cream, homeopathic rosacea gel, eczema cream, Desitin, and calamine lotion. Nothing seems to help. I did not change my makeup, laundry detergent, or skin care products before it began. I have fair, sensitive skin as well. Can anyone offer insight into what it may be? http://s1068.photobucket.
Avatar m tn my dermatologist recommended to use - metronidazole topical 0.75% & Desonide 0.05%.. going try both for week... hope this will not mess up instead of curing ...
Avatar n tn Your doctor may advise you to reduce application for a while. What is the other topical lotion he is using? If it contains benzoyl peroxide this may be contributing to his sensitized skin. Whilst using these products i would recommend also using Lutsine hydrafnia cleanser and moisturizer. They are especially made for spot-prone skin which has become irritated due to acne therapy. Look online for delivery or stockists in your area. How old is your son?
Avatar m tn However, three weeks ago my skin started to redden again, and i went to see the doctor. I got given just some metronidazole cream and told to apply this twice a day. A few days later though and my face was more red, dry, very hot and my eyelids had began to swell up. If i apply a little hydrocortisone the swelling and redness goes down for a couple of days then re-occurs. I don't seem to have much in the way of papules and pustules, but the skin does weep a little. It is very distressing.
Avatar f tn Hello, It looks like irritant contact dermatitis to the lotion. Wear gloves while applying this lotion. The treatments of this condition are application of topical corticosteroids (betamethasone, clobatesol, flucinolone) which will reduce the inflammatory process. Topical immunomodulators like pimecrolimus and tacrolimus can be used in severe conditions. I hope it helps.
Avatar n tn Apply cold compresses(ice cubes wrapped in a towel) on the rash and take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin. You can also apply calamine lotion on the rash.It will help in soothing the skin.A mild corticosteroid cream like dermacort will also help. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful.
Avatar m tn The doctor may prescribe metronidazole to treat vaginal infection, Usually, metronidazole can be taken orally. Sometime metronidazole can also be inserted directly into the vagina with a topical gel.
Avatar n tn I coated the rash on my hands with calamine lotion and it slowly went away. Weather it was totally due to the calamine lotion or the other meds I'm not sure. The meds taken were: Cephalexin (Keflex) 500mg, 1 tab for 4 days; Cetirizine (Zyrtec) 10mg, 1 tab a day for one month; Fluconazole (Diflucan) 100mg, 1 tab immediately;. The Predinisone (Deltasone) 20mg was not needed. The lotion Ammonium Lactae (Amlaction) was tried but wasn't really needed. Thank you for your help.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with rosacea by three docs and been given three different topical creams. None worked at all and one was about $100 per small bottle! I seem to always be red across the nose and cheeks and it seems to be getting worse each year and I am beginning to notice some on chin and between eyebrows. I really havent been able to pinpoint triggers but have always blushed easily and have always gotten really red faced during exercise. Playing on tennis and basketball teams in H.S.
Avatar n tn There are topical agents you can buy over the counter that may help alleviate this, such as calamine lotion or topical benadryl. But he may need topical steroids or prescription strength medications instead if these fail. While trying some of the soothing agents, I suggest having this patient evaluated by a dermatologist as soon as possible as well.
Avatar n tn It is inflammation of the foreskin and glans in uncircumcised males. Topical antibiotics (metronidazole cream) and antifungals (clotrimazole cream) or low-potency steroid creams is the main mode of treatment. Avatar n tn ve only tried normal body lotion on the area so far, but I do have some topical corticosteroid cream from a different itching issue I had - I'll try that on it. I'll look into the Lac-Hydrin and Aveeno lotions. Thank you so much for your help specialmom - very much appreciated!!!
Avatar m tn You can also use Benzoyl peroxide lotion or gel once at bedtime. An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face. If your skin becomes red or peels, you are using too much of the medicine or applying it too often. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing. Warm regards.
Avatar m tn Other than that other treatment options are clindamycin topical treatment, topical steroids, oral antibiotics and metronidazole cream. Treatment should be continued for several weeks. If this is unsuccessful then the other treatments mentioned above may be tried. Avatar f tn Hello, everyone; I have been on Dexilant for nearly two months due to severe GERD. So far, this medicine has worked wonders and the only side effect I've noticed is a minor metallic taste in my mouth, which is so minor (compared to the side effects of other drugs) that it's barely anything. I have noticed, however, in the last 6 months, I've developed some symptoms that make me think my magnesium might be low (a side effect of prolonged PPI meds).
Avatar m tn What is the best topical (prescription power) to treat the side effects of a potent steroid cream specifically "Lotrisone" on my meatus? I have tried basic treatments such as over the counter creams and enoillments for months and months. Note that the area of skin effected is on my genitals so I am not looking for anything too strong for that area like Retin-A for example which ould probably cause further irritation.
