I have for Bacterial Vaginosis (Gardinella) for 15 years almost every single month after intercourse? I take metronidazole every month, but after sex BV comes back again and again. And doctors don't know how to help me.PLEASE ASVISE ME a DOCTOR who can treat recurrent BV! Thank you !!!
Unless you already have done so, you may want to ask your doctor about treatment with either metronidazole, clindamycin, or tinidazole. Honestly, your gynecologist would be the best person to advise you on treatment with this.
I was just diagnosed with BV(symptoms included greyish bad smelling discharge, itchy vulva region, peeling skin)and given 2 1000mg suppositories of metronidazole to be used one day, then day off, then second one. It has been 4 days since treatment has been completed, and the discharge has changed slightly, yet the smell, itch, and peeling skin remains.
I got tested and was positive for yeast and BV. Doc prescribed a course of Metronidazole and suppositories for yeast for me and my partner got treated as well, just in case. Again, my infection cleared up and I was fine for maybe two weeks? I can't even remember. But it came back again after having sex.. I went back, tested positive for BV again and was prescribed Clindamycin this time. At this point I was so done with it that I almost had a mental breakdown.

I took metronidazole gel at about 20 weeks for bv and baby is fine now at about 28 weeks
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily).

My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night?
I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet.
Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.
I should agree with dochiru that you need systemic treatment, it may involve use of co-trimoxazole(Biseptol), metronidazole(local or systemic) and maybe other combined preparations, however the treatment should not be initiated without a doctors consultation.
Visit a doctor prior to taking any meds.
And lastly, during treatment for Vaginitis you should avoid all sexual contacts. So it is not probable that you will get pregnant during that time.

Treatment
There is no over-the-counter treatment available. There are two treatment options with metronidazole (Flagyl) - an oral antibiotic or a topical antibiotic cream. Metronidazole can cause nausea and darkening of urine. Alcohol consumption should be avoided while on this medication, and for 48 hours after treatment, due to possible alcohol intolerance, which can result in nausea and vomiting. If you are using the vaginal antibiotic preparation, it must be used daily.
Also after i have finished the metronidazole pills does that mean the (BV) odor has gone away?

No one seems to know the answer to how to get rid of this annoying disease and I am beyond frustrated and depressed. I am constantly itching, burning, bloated, gassy (sorry for such vivid details) and now my fiance is experiencing gassy, bloating problems too.

My doctor prescribed me metronidazole because of my yeast infection but I'm really "iffy" about taking it because I don't want to harm my baby. Have any of u guys taken metronidazole while pregnant ?
The dose for a large lab would be 500 to 750mg twice per day tor 7 days (Do not overdose). If you have not given the correct dose or metronidazole than another course of metronidazole may help.
There could be gastrointestinal parasites not covered by the metronidazole, of course, and it would be best to have your dog's stool checked.
