I was diagnosed with trich on July 17th...took the four pill treatment of metronidazole...my husband was also treated..by July 29th symptoms were back...was given 5 day dose 2x a day...symptoms came back...went to a different doctor on August 23 got 7 day treatment 2x a day... two days after taking all meds symptoms came back... mind you during all this time, no drinking, no sex! Now after returning for a recheck appt.
I returned to the clinic on a Tuesday and was told some BV remained (half of it had gone). I was then given another 10 metronidazole tablets to take by mouth (one twice a day). The doctor said no alcohol but did not mention anything at all about whether I should refrain from sex.
The dose for a large lab would be 500 to 750mg twice per day tor 7 days (Do not overdose). If you have not given the correct dose or metronidazole than another course of metronidazole may help.
There could be gastrointestinal parasites not covered by the metronidazole, of course, and it would be best to have your dog's stool checked.
Yea.. just speak to your doctor tomorrow and ask can you have fluconazole unit dose it's a one time use tablet to treat yeast... Aka fungal infections...
The doctor prescribed me a mega dose of the metronidazole and said I should feel better in 24 hours. I did NOT feel better in 24 hrs I waited a week because everything online kept telling me the symptoms could take a week to subside but when they didn’t I called my doctor and she prescribed me another mega dose. This one did absolutely nothing but make my symptoms worse my cervix hurt so bad.
My boyfriend and i were both given 2000MG 1 dose of Metronidazole, as far as i know Met would have cleared it up in one dose but sometimes you need to take it again. IF you have it and if you went back to the dr's and had them say it was still there.if not. I suggest not messing with antibiotics, they lower your immune system and make you VERY sick from the side effects.
if Flagyl 2 grams orally as single dose 500mg 4 pills didnt work then suggest you talk to your dr.
actually you should've had 8 pills to take - for a total of 2 grams of medication.
give the clinic a call and ask them to please check the pdr and call you in the right dose if that is all you were given.
remember no alcohol at all for a few days either!
I started taking metronidazole and a probiotic supplement called enterogermina. After the first dose of both metronidazole and enterogermina I started having urgency to pee. I feel like I have to pee frequently. My urine does not have a strong odour and it is not cloudy and has a normal light straw colour. I was wondering if urgency to urinate may be a symptom of bacterial vaginosis or if it may be a side effect of metronidazole or enterogermina?
Several months ago I had unprotected sex-the first time ever for this 40 year old man. Immediatly after ejaculation I felt some burning and need to urinate. A day or two later there was one incident of severe burning and need to urinate for just an hour or two. I took only 2 days' worth of flagyl (metronidazole) 3 months ago. After the first 2 days, I noticed tingling/burning in my feet, so I didn't take anymore. It initially lasted about 3 days. Then, I was completely symptom-free for a month. Then, the pain came back. It's been off and on since, but has seemed to have gotten more intense and is sometimes in my hands as well.
I'm taking antibiotics, including Metronidazole 500mg for h.pylori. I was at my sister's wedding last night and took 2 glasses of bubbly to toast with the guests, and then switched to water all night (being under the impression that antibiotics just worsen the impact of the alcohol so this is why you shouldn't drink). About 6-7 hours later I started feeling really unwell (nausea, frequent washroom trips, flushed skin)..
It is a well know fact in veterinary pharmacology that high doses of metronidazole can cause neurological symptoms. The neurological symptoms are usually dose specific and once the medication is discontinued your dog should return to normal unless there is concurrent neurolgical disease.
If I failed the first 1000mg-one dose should I consider taking a higher dose or the 500mg followed by 250mg per day. Or should I request of the STD clinic to take (doxycycline) plus metronidazole? Now that I have started metronidazole should I just stop on the 4th day, and wait for the new doxycycline plus metronidazole regime? That is, will taking another 3 days of it without the doxycycline make me build up a resistance to it or should I stay the course and see if another 3 days helps.
Anyone ever been prescribed metronidazole for a bacterial infection of the vjay?im 14-15 weeks pregnant and was just wondering..I've taken my azitheomycin for the second time and hope it clears up whatever seems to be going on but the first time I took my single dose they told me it killed the good and the bad bacteria but that I got a bacterial infection so the prescribed me metronidazole,called back and gave me another single dose of azitheomycin..
hi,i have been diagnosed with trich about 2 years ago after having it for at least a year,got treated with single dose of metronidazole,the symptoms seemed to clear out but came back with the next period.i couldnt get reinfected in the meanwhile. Next time about a year later still having the smelly discharge i took flagyl. The symsymptoms disappeared for another 4 months and came back again. It is possible i have been reinfected somewhere along the way.
Oh my god!!! I have been dealing with the same upsetting situation. Now was your friend actually tested positive??? I tested positive only one time out of maybe 6 tests I had done. I've taken 3 courses of metronidazole and just recently tinidazole and still nothing..I. don't know what to do anymore..
Took the 1 dose of metronidazole 2000mg exactly 2 weeks ago on october 28...my symptoms went away for a few days then returned just a couple days ago...
The problem is that she told me to take only one pill of amoxicillin (500mg) every 12 hours but it was supposed to be two pills (1g) according to FDA and other resources. I am very concerned because I know that this bacteria becomes resistant to antibiotics. What should I do?, How long do I wait before I take another test to see if the bacteria is gone or not? How long will it be before I can repeat the treatment in case the bacteria is still there? Please Help!!!
He told me to wait to take another dose of amoxicillin until the day before the extraction. My jaw is currently hurting right below the lower left wisdom tooth. Does this mean the infection has returned from the first dose of amoxicillin and if so, am I still ok to wait until a week from tomorrow to have the tooth extracted? The reason I have to wait is because the oral surgeon is only in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and I had important projects I have to get done at work before taking days off.
She prescribed a vaginal gel, Metronidazole, for the BV. After one use of the BV I constantly felt like I had to pee no matter if I went to the bathroom or not. I stopped using the Metronidazole. The next day, Friday, I still had somewhat frequent urination, but not like the side effects of the Metronidazole. Hi my name is jennifer I been taking antibiotics for the past 2 weeks, Omeprazole 20 mg, Metronidazole 500 mg and Clarithromycin 500 mg and also I been taking my birth control pills for the past 3 weeks (Jolivette).
I jus found out today I am pregnant. I'm concer with the health of the unborn baby. I am worry if the any possibility of births defects and any other problem related to the medications.

i finished taking metronidazole 500mg for 7 days and then took a pill for yeast infection for one day cant remenber the name but a week after the npleasant smell is still her ..
