ve been told by my GI doctor that my peripherial neurapathy is partially caused by the over-use of the metronidazole a antibiotic. I also have low levels of vitamin b1. my question is on the antibiotic metronidazole, Can this cause to my peripherial neurapathy be "corrected" after the toxin has finally left my body? or will this be permantent and get "worse" with time? what can I do to stave off the progression if so?

I am scared I have been taking this medication for Bv and yesterday, on the 6th day I started getting tingling and numbness in my hands and feet...and it is still here today....I went to the out patients in the middle of the night and the idiot doctor didn't take me seriously..just said to stop taking the meds ...anyways I don't want to have permanent damage I feel helpless because the doctor just sent me away....did your numbness go away?
I have been takng Flagyl (Metronidazole) for 5 days now and the past 3 days the right hand goes numb around the pinky and ring finger and all along that side up my arm. should i be worried? or stop taking the medication? im only supposed to take it for 2 more days.

since my last mc 6 mos ago the sciatica irritation has continued without lapse and is so bad i can't sit or lay or stand still or walk for extended periods. most of my peripheral pain has gone away, except occasional burning on the top and bottom of the foot on the side the sciatica seems most dominant.
I feel like my right foot is numb on the top by the ankel. I have also had some numbness in my hands (very mild, just slight tingling sensation). I also feel like I am all jacked up on caffeine and shakey. Sometimes the numbness radiates up my leg and feels like a calve cramp and sometimes my right leg feels like a noodle. I can't really explain it. Just weird. At other times I go days without any symptoms thinking everything is gone just to have the symptoms come back.

Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet.
Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.

Yes metronidazole is causing me alot of nerve pain. i got tingling pins and needles from knees,feets and hands. I got muscle twitching all over my body after taking it. already 2 mths passed and still the same.

I started taking metronidazole and a probiotic supplement called enterogermina. After the first dose of both metronidazole and enterogermina I started having urgency to pee.
