Not that I am aware of. I have taken metronidazole without any problems except for it bothering my stomach.
Called the pharmacist and then the doctor. Both said i was having an allergic reaction to the medicine. Both said to stop taking it. I go to the doctor next week to ddiscuss other options. So just watch out for that.....
I took metronidazole on 6/6/11 for BV as well. On 6/16/11, 5 days after the last pill, I broke out in the worst case of hives I have ever had. All around my hair line, into my scalp, along my hip and pelvic bones, on my jaw line and neck - -burning, painful and firey. The doctors tried to get to the bottom of it, but eventually they sent me on my way and I never did determine the source of the problem.

I started taking metronidazole yesterday I took 2 pills that day... today I realized I haven't had my period this month. So I decide to take a pregnancytest before I start my second day on metronidazole. I took the test a 3pm and both test were positive. so I stopped the pills.I was wondering if the medication made my test positive or am I really pregnant.take another prego test? & when?

Doctor gave me metronidazole. I had a reaction to the medicine and had to stop taking it. Go back to the doctor next week to see what they want to do.
So she was given antibiotics (metronidazole), a medicine to help her potential ulcer (Sucralfate), as well as a medicine to help dissolve the sludge (Ursodiol). We were also told to keep her on Galliprant. She ate slightly for the first couple of days and is now not eating anything. The vet has now said to keep her on all of the meds except Galliprant and to come in for an anti-nausea as her belly might be upset from the antibiotic causing her to not want to eat.

I was diagnosed with ngu took the medicine and mygirgirlfriend took the meds also. We waited over a week like the Dr said to have sex. Well again the pain and discharge are back so I went to see the Dr again. He gave me a shot and more meds for me and my girlfriend. We have been using protection condoms after that and waited 10 days before having sex. Now the pain and discharge is back again. She went to the clinic and came up negative for ngu but came up positive for bacterial vaginosis.
Many tests and procedures later and her vet diagnosed her with inflammatory bowel disease and put her on Metronidazole and prescribed cat foods with duck, rabbit and deer. Well, both of my cats reaction to the new food was to try to bury it. The Metronidazole made Pixel sick and she stopped eating and her weight fell to under six pounds and the vet then put her on steroids. got worried and went to the doctor. and they prescribe me with two medicine one is levoflaxcin (lexzin) 750mg need to take 1pill for 10days and the other one is metronidazole (flagex) 500mg need to take 4pills/day for 5days... getting paranoid here if my std is worst or which stage is it? should i get a test after taking the medicine? and which test should i take...
In the US, I was treated witn Metronidazole 500 mg 2 x day for 7 days (I did not have any tests done), which supposedly is the drug for trichomoniasis, and that this drug did not do anytning to improve the condition; the symptoms are still present. The only difference in symptoms I am observing is sometimes clear discharge, more ofthen though, yellow, thick discharge, which is most observable in the morning, before the urination. Also, there is no odor of any kind.
How soon after using metronidazole vaginal gel (0.75%) for bacterial vaginosis can you consume alcoholic beverages? On the box it says do not drink alcoholic beverages when taking this medicine. I only used it twice, and experienced bad side effects so I do not plan on using it anymore. Today (April 22), was the last time I used it. Will I be able to drink alcohol on Saturday, April 25? I went to the obgyn last week they ran urine samples and std tests and everything was okay, I told them I’m spotting still for two weeks now three and cramping the test came back for BV so they prescribed me Metronidazole I felt way too anxious about taking it , Friday I went in for a ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound I believe and got the results today that it was fine. They now prescribed me clindamycin gel which I will pick up tomorrow due to pharmacy out of stock.
s doctor gave her metronidazole and flucanozolum, told her that I should also take the same medicine. I have not talked to my doctor yet but does this make sense to have same pills together?

HAS ANYONE TOOK METRONIDAZOLE FOR BACTERIA INFECTION DOWN THERE? DOES IT HARM THE BABY IM 5 MONTHS AND WORRIED.
My doctor said that I have bv and he prescribed me metronidazole so I have been taking that for about a week faithfully and still have a few days to go. But I have noticed that every time I go to the bathroom I get huge clots of white discharge and sometimes when I wipe there is sticky, web looking discharge. Is this normal? I am 35 weeks.
I took metronidazole gel at about 20 weeks for bv and baby is fine now at about 28 weeks
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
