Can you get HIV if you have sexual intercourse with someone who might have HIV through Jock itch. I went to the doctor a week later and all STD test came back negative as well as HIV.
I have had the same problem for quite some time. I'll use lotrimun powder spray and baby powder every morning and evening after washing, it does the trick. But during the summer when sweating is inevitable, the jock itch will return. I haven't found a permanate cure for my case, but you'll find the "jock itch" powder spray + baby powder can keep it dry for quite come time. Try it.

I am a 25 year old male with a rash in my groin region. It is in my inner thighs and has been there for almost 6 years. i am a runner and for the longest time thought of it as "jock itch". But in recent years it has become more and more painful and varying degrres of treatment have been used trying to clear it up.
The rash had a well-defined outline and a pink center. After doing some research, I figured I would try a jock itch cream. I used Lotrimin (clotrimazole) for about a weak - which seemed to work - but the tube ran out. The next day, the rash came back. Now, it's just red with no defined edges. It's not really itchy, and I probably wouldn't have even noticed it had it not been for the oral sex.
t know how to treat it. I assumed it was jock itch or whatever it is called because I researched it. Hi, I was just recently diagnosed with jock itch by a PA that I saw at a dermatology office. I noticed the tip of my penis is also somewhat red, can it spread to the tip? I did not mention this to the PA because I did not notice until I got home. Could it be an std? I have sex with one girl(my girlfriend) that I know does not have any diseases. It is red, is NOT itchy, and does not seem irritated until I think about it. What could this be?
Ive been to my family doctor 3 times, a Urologist once, and the county health department once. All they ever seem to do is tell me the same thing, that I have jock itch and then they prescribe me some cream and send me on my way. Yet my problem never goes away, and its been 5 years and this is still something that concerns me on a daily basis. Its really destroying my life to be honest.
The rash that showed up in his groin looked more like jock itch rash. He has been getting this itch for about 4-5 years on and off but never had any rash, not even a single red bump before. This is the first time he got that severe rash along with burning sensation. He never had burning sensation before just the itch.

It can be due to jock itch(fungal infection),intertrigo or acanthosis nigricans. Jock itch shows up in post-adolescent men and hormonal changes during puberty,lifestyle and heredity each play a role.Predisposing fungal disease like tines cruris may also aggravate it.
Wash your groin daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying,not rubbing. A hairdryer is useful if you have hairy groins.The damp groin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply.
I have what I assume is a fungal infection on my inner thighs. It's a reddish-brown with clearly defined borders. I've had it before but kind of forgot about it, and recently noticed it again. The skin is slighty more scaly there than surrounding it. I just don't know that it's jock itch because there is no itching, burning or discomfort. The only symptom is the discoloration itself.
