And my first thought when you said that the antibiotics were not completely working was that she might have accidentally breathed something in and it set up an infection, like you said.. Sometimes the walls of an abscess are very tough and makes it harder for antibiotics to 'get through' If it is an abscess that's easily reached, then the usual treatment is to drain it first, and also give antibiotics. But with her abscess in this location, that's not as easy.

Is that better and you are just seeing spots or do you still have symptoms? They do sometimes lance the abscess which it sounds like they do and often that and antibiotics will do the trick.
hi can anyone help well for the past 3 weeks ive had a painful lump on the right side of my vagina the lump is on the outside of my vagina under the skin it would be the size of a grape i also have heavy discharge my periods have been off and on for over a year with just spotting now and again i also have trouble with my bowels with ibs and pain in the pelvic area
Hi! I recently had a root canal and was prescribed clindamycin too....I too have allergies to other antibiotics. The clindomycin did NOTHING and the infection got worse so now I am on CIPRO which was my own idea. I don't know if it is working 100% yet, but at least the infection has died down and I can tell it is helping......
I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV?

I had no pain prior to root canal , but my dentist said I had a large abscess found on xray that needed to be root canaled before I left to go out of the country. Sine the root canal I have had severe pain 10+ and a lot of facial swelling. After calling my endontontist 3 days in a row he had me come in to his office and determined my bite was offf and I was hitting the root canal tooth first.
4 weeks ago I had what felt like an abscess in my rectum. After a few days I went to the toilet and passed out a bit of blood and what looked like an abscess. I went to the doctors the next day and he said that the bleeding looks like it's coming from further up and not near my anus. After that I had a day of passing small amounts of blood and after that bowel movements were normal, no blood just a bit of mucus.
Hey everyone, so I’ve had a tooth abscess for YEARS now (since my junior year of high school) and I’ve gone a couple times to the dentist and have gotten a round of antibiotics but never went back to get the tooth pulled after finishing the antibiotics, over the years I’ve been able to pop the abscess though it wasn’t very much puss that came out at all, so I figured I was ok as long as I was able to drain it.
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet.
Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.
For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily).
I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm.
My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night?
I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
I had to take it last week for 5 days. Everything is great with baby. It does say that there is no harm to take it however I understand your concern. I'm 27w 5d I'm sure I would've been me hesitant at 6 weeks.
Hi guys,i seen some peoples on this forum that got rid off patm with Flagyl(Metronidazole), have you tried this? Would be nice to hear some oppinions about it from peoples who actually used it.
My dog was throwing up (looked like human food- I hve no idea where he got it from) and having diarrhea. The vet gave him amforol among penicillin and steroid injection. We took x-rays and the vet said he had imflammatory bowel disease. Since then he's stopped vomitting but still having diarrhea. Now he's on metronidazole. I've read around that metro will help only temporary and that it could cause liver damage.
Has anyone had this problem and will metronidazole fix his problem?
E this evening, they told me it was an abscess so was prescribed another antibiotic (Metronidazole) to use with the current one I am on (Co-amoxiclav).
I am so anxious at the moment and feeling some-what scared. Do you think it will clear it up sharpish now that I am on both antibiotics? Just need a second opinion.
