I was given Rozex cream (metronidazole) as i have an itchy penis (head). When i asked what was the diagnosis they said a fungal infection.
Why have i been given this cream when metronidazole doesn't cure fungal infections?
Is there any indication for using this cream on the penis at all?
I thought most infections or protozoa were treated with oral metronidazole?
The doctor told me I had bacterial vaginosis and a yeast infection I think that's why she prescribed metronidazole and she also prescribed a cream (miconazole nitrate) I just wasn't sure if metronidazole was ok to take while pregnant. THANKS GIRLS!
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
well i been diagnosed with trichomonas vaginalis and the doctor gave me 2 grams of metronidazole as a single dose and a vaginal cream called clotrimazole (3 days). but since i used the metronidazole i had dark urine, i had and upset stomach i couldn't eat or drink anything because i will throw up. it's been 2 day and i don't have the upset stomach but i still have the dark urine how long is it gonna take before the dark uring goes away?
thank you for replying!, its just ive tried the pessaries for thrush couple of weeks ago and it didnt work so i got cheked out and it was Bv, I have used cream vagisil to reduce pain, but i will try aqueous cream thank you!, i've been reading it could be a yeast infection , but have no idea, just its very strange because the metronidazole worked very fast and now that ive come off itching burning and dry..
However, three weeks ago my skin started to redden again, and i went to see the doctor. I got given just some metronidazole cream and told to apply this twice a day. A few days later though and my face was more red, dry, very hot and my eyelids had began to swell up. If i apply a little hydrocortisone the swelling and redness goes down for a couple of days then re-occurs. I don't seem to have much in the way of papules and pustules, but the skin does weep a little. It is very distressing.
The doctor said it could be a bacterial infection and gave me metronidazole cream. He also used a swab to test me for STDs. I have to wait 2 days for the results and I am very worried it is Herpes. I have not had a fever or any pain. No discharge of any color.
It is inflammation of the foreskin and glans in uncircumcised males. Topical antibiotics (metronidazole cream) and antifungals (clotrimazole cream) or low-potency steroid creams is the main mode of treatment. Proper hygiene with frequent washing and drying of the prepuce is also essential.Severe cases may require circumcision.

My derm gave me metronidazole cream .75% (2x daily) and I have used it for two days now. I think some of the redness has gone but I do still have the little zit-like bumps (but fewer). I think it may be helping but then again I thought the desonide ointment was helping too? Approximately how long would you expect this cream to clear this infection?
Also my doctor gave me a course of pessaries and the metronidazole cream for a period of 6 days and it seemed to do the trick.
I am now going bacitracin + neomycin and I buy a metronidazole ... I certainly do not get into sex and got after using a simulated oral sex that I was not very clean ...
I just want to get rid of this infection ...
Treatment is by antibiotics and you can use metronidazole gel or clindamycin cream for local application on vagina. They have fewer side effects. But inform your gynecologist before talking them.

Hi all, I was diagnosed with perioral dermatitis and prescribed oral doxycycline and metronidazole cream - seems like a pretty standard treatment - and it worked like a charm within a week. The doctor prescribed 6 weeks of the oral and didn’t mention any length of time for the cream. I stopped using the cream once the rash was gone and have reduced capsules to once a day instead of twice. I have about 10 days left of the capsules.
HAS ANYONE TOOK METRONIDAZOLE FOR BACTERIA INFECTION DOWN THERE? DOES IT HARM THE BABY IM 5 MONTHS AND WORRIED.
It has been present for a couple of months now. I have tried everything to get rid of them--zit cream, tea tree oil, Metronidazole cream, homeopathic rosacea gel, eczema cream, Desitin, and calamine lotion. Nothing seems to help. I did not change my makeup, laundry detergent, or skin care products before it began. I have fair, sensitive skin as well. Can anyone offer insight into what it may be?

For the bv, doctor prescribed metronidazole gel and for the yeast infection, he prescribed terconazole cream
ve had Bacterial Vaginosis for more than a week (currently taking Metronidazole) and my discharge is greatly reduced but my perineum and tip of my anus are very swollen, itchy and white. I'm really worried this isn't due to BV and I mentioned it to my GP but she didnt say anything about it. Please help!!

My dischrage was milky but itchy. And my vaginal area was red. For the yeast i have cotromazole cream. Discharge is like cottage cheese. Both bv and yeast is uncomfortable. My sugar is normal so i guess its all due to hormones. I dont use undeewear at home and keep my privy dry as possible.
I'm 38 weeks and I've had a yeast infection for awhile. They gave me a 7 day cream 2 weeks ago. That didn't get rid of it. A week ago at my last appointment they gave me 2 pills. I took 1 and then I took the other 3 days later (like it said to do) but I'm 99% sure I still have a yeast infection. I see my Dr again tomorrow. Has anyone else had an infection that wouldn't go away?
s including herpes, hiv, chylamdia, syphlis, I was advised to have acyclovir and subsequently the ulcers went away(they were fading anyway by this time), so not sure if it was the acyclovir,
Also after this visit I was over zealous with hygiene and washed my penis with soap, and I noticed it becoming red and itchy subsequently,
A week after this I visited the Gum clinic again and all my previous tests came back negative, by this time my penis tip was turning red and slightly painful on touch
