Avatar n tn I went to several different doctors and they all told me I have Peri oral Dermatitis. I was prescribed Metronidazole at first and with no luck. The dryness slowly got worse and the red spots were not going away. I used Phisioderm to wash my wash my face and the dryness disappeared in a few days but then came back just as quick. After seeing a dermatologist he prescribed me Doxycycline for 1 month and an ointment made of Clindamycin 2%, HC 1% in 80% h20 and 20% isopropanol.
Avatar f tn i recently found out that im 2 weeks pregnant and iwas on antibiotics(doxyclyn and metrronidazole) for bacterial infection before i took the test ,i want to know if this has affected the baby or me.
Avatar n tn For people with more severe cases, doctors often prescribe an oral (taken by mouth) antibiotic. Tetracycline, minocycline, erythromycin, and doxycycline are the most common antibiotics used to treat rosacea. Some people respond quickly, while others require long-term therapy. Isotretinoin may be considered as a treatment option for all forms of severe or therapy-resistant rosacea.
Avatar f tn Get medication from doctor. Omeprazole, tetracycline. metronidazole, etc. Take it for a month. It should decrease the h pylori.

Avatar n tn I seem to always be red across the nose and cheeks and it seems to be getting worse each year and I am beginning to notice some on chin and between eyebrows. I really havent been able to pinpoint triggers but have always blushed easily and have always gotten really red faced during exercise. Playing on tennis and basketball teams in H.S., I was quite the scarry tomato face! Anyway my question is if there is a possible connection with fungus or yeast? Any good tips on types of makeup?
Avatar f tn t really see any orange (normally end of day my OT was whole tongue and very prominent!) so I decided to repeat the Tetracycline sprinkle after supper. Kept it on for 15 minutes and then brushed the white crud off. I did this for 2 more days with that single pill (only takes a small amount!) and my ORANGE TONGUE is still gone! I am not a doctor but if I was I would prescribe this as a cure to everyone with OT!!! (NOTE: NOT IF YOU HAVE LIFE THREATENING PENICILLIN ALLERGY!).
Avatar n tn A little nervous to use this stuff as my web research seems to suggest that cortisone and other steroids could make this condition worse. Any advice? Do I use this stuff or try something else?
Avatar m tn I and the burning is only on urination and is located at the tip and extends about 5mm down the urethra. I would also add that there is constant itching, although I don't have any urgency to urinate. I have had my fasting sugar tested recently and it is within normal limits and as far as I am aware I have no allergies other than penicillin. My wife went to the doctor who informed her that she had a uti for which she had a course of antibiotics.
Avatar f tn But I am curious to know if it also cures STDs after a discussion with a best friend. Does tetracycline cure chlamydia and gonorrhea also?
Avatar f tn s stomach so, my dad is given 4 packs of stronger medications to kill those bacterials. they were Tetracycline Hydrochloride, bismuth chelate, metronidazole and omeprazole (which i know what's that for). what are these medications used for. im still so afraid.
Avatar n tn i have a two really big red rashes on either side of my mouth, my dermatologists said it was perioral dermititus. I was on doxy for 2 months, and then minocyline for 3 months, and still these red rashed are still there bigger than ever. just wanted to know if this red rash will go away ever, and do i need roaccutane again. Avatar f tn Sunscreens, particularly those that protect against ultraviolet A and B light waves and have a sun-protecting factor (SPF) of 13 or higher, are recommended for all people with rosacea. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.
Avatar m tn According to most websites tetracycline is part of the penicillin family and is also used gonorrhoea, syphilis and chlamydia. I just wanted to check this is true?
Avatar f tn m allergic to Murpirocin, neosporin, bacitracin, clindamycin, metronidazole all topicals and had a syncope from a tetracycline type drug. My brother is anaphylaxic to penicillin. It sounds like you can tolerate Mupirocin but the topical isn't enough for your tissue infection. Celluitis can be pretty deep in the tissue so if it isn't working either the bacteria are resistant to it or it isn't penetrating the tissue well enough.
Avatar m tn I have skipped some days and only one a day occasionally and the Rosacae issues have been very mild however I seem to get many more bacteria infections inmy eyes ( pain- discharge ) and more severe than in the past. My question is does the tetracycline have any effect on bacteria infections ???? could they be related ??
Avatar m tn I was told that the tetracycline had eliminated normal skin bacteria that suppresses the cause of the lesion, in this case, Candida. Since that time, I have not used tetracycline and I have not experienced the skin lesion. My question: Is it possible all these years later for me to transmit Candida to a female through sex? Thank you.
1084115 tn?1385228589 Macrolide antibiotics like erythromycin, azithromycin, chloramphenicol, lincomycine, and clindamycin which are excreted and detoxified by liver should be used with cautions in these patients. Tetracycline, Isoniazid and Rifampin have prolonged half life in patients with liver cirrhosis. Metronidazole ketocanozole, miconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole, and nitrofurantoin pyrazinamide should be used with caution.
Avatar f tn I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV? Hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks!
Avatar m tn I stopped the tetracycline because it could cure the syphilis (I needed to know if I was infected at any point) and got my blood drawn a week later for syphilis (and all other STDS). It also came back negative for everything, but I am not sure if the tetracycline could have cleared the antibodies from my blood. I need to know if I had been infected with syphilis before the tetracycline, because I have had another partner in between.
Avatar m tn The doctor here took a urinalysis, gave me two shots of 80mg Gentamycin, another does of 2g Zithromax and sent me on my way. He said it should clear up whatever I have and to call back in a few days to check the result of the urinalysis. Obviously this seems backwards to me, but I'm more concerned now about the shots of Gentamycin I received. I looked it up to see what it was and it appears to have some serious side effects. Is this something I should be concerned about?
Avatar n tn I am 28 and have had rosacea for about 1 year now. My skin is severely dry, tight and flaky. My cheecks are always extremely red. Rosacea sufferers are not supposed to use exfoliaters, so how am i supposed to get rid of the dry flaky skin? I cant use cover up because it only highlights the dead skin and i dont like going out in public with my skin all red and flaky. HELP. I dont want to take antibiotics. Does anyone know of any natural remedies?
Avatar f tn Hi there, Im a 28 year old female, and I have been struggling with perioral dermatitis for years, and it always comes back. Each time it has been treated with tetracycline and has gone away, but some time later it reappears and I dont know why? Before getting tetracycline, I started with a fucidin H cream, but that alone didnt get rid of the dermatitis. Is there anything else that might help to keep it away, maybe a more effective cream?
