Avatar m tn Does taking antibiotics (metronidazole) and antidepressants (zoloft) at the same time, affect the result of an HIV test? The result was negative after six months of the possible exposure.
Avatar n tn Sunscreens, particularly those that protect against ultraviolet A and B light waves and have a sun-protecting factor (SPF) of 13 or higher, are recommended for all people with rosacea. It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for this and then decide the cause and further plan of management. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.
Avatar n tn Hi, Are you talking about a malignant nodule in the lung? The exposure from the sun will place you at risk for cancers of the skin. While there are cancers of the skin that would have a tendency to metastasize the lung (melanoma), these would usually have a preliminary finding in the skin.
Avatar m tn The best way to prevent milia is to avoid treating your skin with excessively harsh chemicals and to limit sun exposure. Also use good quality cosmetics and exfoliate your skin regularly. If still the symptoms persist then chemical peeling or laser removal can be done. I hope it helps. Take care and God bless.
Avatar f tn I was traveling between cold and hot temperatures, and yes stressed out, during which I also developed bacterial vaginosis and was being treated with vaginal metronidazole (and oral cipro to cover possible UTI). The tingling started the morning after my first metronidazole dose. At no point did I have an obvious lesion, sore throat, fever or swollen lymph nodes. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I kissed the gentleman, and the upcoming Saturday 2 weeks since the drink sharing.

Avatar m tn I am very active outdoors and would hate to have to stay out of the sun. I use sun screens and still I get this condition.
Avatar f tn actually sun is very beneficial to both you and baby, you need around 20 min of exposure to the sun everyday on your arms and legs, a little more if your dark skinned, your body gets its vitamin D from being exposed to the sun, otherwise you risk having vit D deficiency which isnt good, and you end up by having to take suppliments, just be sure that you dont go out in the hottest part of the day and if you do put on sunscreen :)

Avatar m tn It is possible that you have/had sun poisioning. Any antibiotics will add to the harsh exposure of the sun. That is why they tell you to try to avoid the sun if you can or use a high level of sunscreen if you are out in the sun. If you are not feeling better soon, you should see your doctor. Please be careful while in the sun while on these medications. It can cause some major symptoms not to mention the higher risk of sun burn. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar n tn Food, medications, cosmetics, insect bites, pollen and other plants and sun exposure are common causes. You can apply Calamine lotion on the bumps and take anti-histamines like Cetrizine for it. Viral infections can sometimes cause a non-specific dermatitis which can present as allergic rash but may not be itchy. It is self-limiting and will resolve in 7-10 days without treatment. ref:http://www.allergyasthmazone.
Avatar m tn How fast do STD's show up? I received oral sex on sat night/ sun morning. By midday I could feel a twinge in my urethra (I have had NGU before and it felt like this), by the evening I knew there was something not right. The next day the pain in my urethra as worse. I assumed it was NGU again and have gotten anti-biotics from my doctor. But now I read that STD's dont show up that fast- my symptom started within 12 hours, even less maybe.
Avatar m tn (yeast infection) of the penis, if that diagnosis is correct, it may well be the result of the metronidazole treatment; such antibiotics often trigger overgrowth of yeasts and other fungi. With or without the antibiotic, such infections of the penis are common in people with normal immune systems and this does not suggest you have HIV. Since you are worried, you should have an HIV test even though you were not at risk.
Avatar f tn We are heading to Florida in two days and will be out in the sun alot. I wear sunscreen but am just curious if sun exposure will affect my scar. It seems like I read somewhere on there that it would by making it darker or taking it longer to heal? Please let me know what you guys know about this. I don't want to do anything that will extend the time it takes my scar to heal or something that makes it heal darker. Thanks guys!
Avatar m tn I have very fair skin and fair hair, whenever I'm out in the sun for a long period of time I seem to get sun poisoning even when I use sun block. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn t want to have it exposed to the sun for long periods of time and would want to avoid sun exposure.Scars are particularly sensitive to sunlight and can sunburn faster than healthy skin, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Once a scar becomes sunburned, it can remain discolored or darkened and may not fade back to match the color of your healthy skin. For that reason, you would want to avoid the sun, wear protective clothing, and wear sun screen to protect your scar/skin.
Avatar f tn Last year I believe I developed a sun allergy, after prolonged exposure to the sun I would get itchy red bumps in the evening and the next day they would be gone. As of this year I have been in the sun and have experience nothing. I was wonder if I spent some time in a tanning bed would I break out in the red bumps like the sun exposure? Not that I am interested in tanning I am just curious if it would have the same effect as the sun on my skin? thanks!

1554921 tn?1294370388 I lived my whole life in S. America and moved to the USA about 2 years ago. I have lived my whole life in hot climates and never been in cold climates. About 2 years ago, my first winter here my face began to breakout, but not acne. I went to the doctor (general practice) and after looking and a few questions, the doctor said i had Rosacea. I have never had this before, only when it started to get cold.
620923 tn?1452915648 This sensitivity makes it very easy for scars to get sunburned, which can cause them to turn brown and become more noticeable.. Sun exposure not only discolors scars, but it can also cause the tissue to thicken. Both of these effects make a scar more conspicuous and more difficult to treat in the future.
