A month ago around April 10 I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend and 5 days later I started to feel sick he says he’s fine but I became very nauseous, dehydrated, depressed, lightheaded, diarrhea, extremely fatigue, had fever, couldn’t sleep, was weak, loss of appetite I was very thirsty though, stomach gurgles, gas I’ve also had oral thrush and neck pains.

i had protected sex April 14th with a girl of an unknown status and by June 1st i had stomach issues so i took some Antibiotics(Metronidazole) and since then i have been having one trouble to another, 1st i developed watery stool once or twice a day and then i went on to having an IBS (irritable bowel) which i think is as a result of the antibiotics and now 15 September, i have a white line through my cheeks where my teeth meet and when i scrape it off its a slightly thick white
I am taking Metronidazole for BV and Penicillan for strep throat but my partner and I have been trying to have sex and I have no sex drive is that affecting it?
About 3 weeks later my wife got a thrush infection and a week after that I got some read spots on head of penis and under foreskin. These disappeared in a few days but then I noticed a purulent discharge and so went to GU clinic. Diagnosed as NSU and over next three months it kept recurring despite abstaining from sex and being treated with Azithromycin 1 dose, Doxycycline 1 week, Erythromycin + Metronidazole 1 week, and lastly Azithromycin again for 5 days.
i was given doxycycline and more metronidazole and finished these about three weeks ago. the tests results for stds and candida all came back negative, but the sympoms are still present.
i am going back to the gum the next time i can get away from work, but no one has been able to tell me what kind of infection this is or what kind of treatment will work. i would think it was only bv but the doctor said that it was an infection of some kind.
I had a significant exposure some years but tested negative on 4 or 5 separate hiv duo tests in uk out to around 7 months (bear with me as I know it sounds like I have nothing to worry about). The cause of the initial hiv test was a severe case of recurrent oral thrush confirmed by gp and oral specialist which responded to prescribed anti fungals but then came back immediately on cessation. This persisted for approx a month after my final negative 4th gen test.
My problem started 6 months ago when I was on an antibiotic (metronidazole) for 1 week.
The antibiotic did its job but caused this condition called "hairy tongue" as a side effect that seems permanent. My tongue looks like it has a white coating of thousands of little elongate papillae. Almost like my once healthy pink tonge now has a 1970's shag-carpet growing on it. These little papillae act like a sponge to trap all sorts of bacteria and food particles.
You may have now gotten a yeast infection from the antibiotics. If you were prescribed metrogel or metronidazole (flagyl), I wouldn't doubt it. I get thrush and/or a genital yeast infection every time I take it.
Equally important, oral sex is safe sex, with little or no risk for HIV. And a new HIV infection would not cause any of the symptoms you describe. They are not due to HIV or any other infection from that event.
As for "thrush" (yeast infection) of the penis, if that diagnosis is correct, it may well be the result of the metronidazole treatment; such antibiotics often trigger overgrowth of yeasts and other fungi.
, its just ive tried the pessaries for thrush couple of weeks ago and it didnt work so i got cheked out and it was Bv, I have used cream vagisil to reduce pain, but i will try aqueous cream thank you!, i've been reading it could be a yeast infection , but have no idea, just its very strange because the metronidazole worked very fast and now that ive come off itching burning and dry..
What was your risk ? When was your last risk? Generally, if the Diflucan or Nystatin does NOT work on your thrush, it's NOT thrush. Oral thrush is fairly common in many HIV negative individuals. Thrush does NOT equal HIV. HIV can NOT be diagnosed by ANY symptoms or lack of. You need to test 3 months after your LAST possible exposure ( unprotected anal/vaginal sex, IV drug use). Antibiotics are known to worsen oral thrush.
At the start of this week (week 5) I also noticed that I have oral thrush - my tongue has a white coating which is thicker at the back and is covered in small red dots - I have the sensation that I have burnt my tongue constantly. The reason I noticed is that I was frantically googling hiv symptoms and thrush came up as one of these so I shone a light in my mouth to check - this means I could have had it longer.
Thrush is not HIV specific. Anyone can get oral thrush at anytime. Mouthwash can cause oral thrush, oral antibotics can cause oral thrush. Babies have the most oral thrush. Same as saying you can contract HIV from kissing. You look long enough on the Internet and you will see that you were born to Alien parents. Get the drift?
For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily).
I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm.
My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night?
I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
I had uprotected sex around 11 oct 2008. I had both oral (giving) and intercourse with a pregnant woman.
the very next day the tip of my tongue was tender and irritated. the back of my thoat was burning.
on 23 Nov was given meds for oral thrush, that did not work.
I am now on antibiotics for strep throat and it seems to not be work, which I had a throat culture with positive for strep.
My oral infection is getting worse.

I am have an issue that has has been troubling me. I am a 25 year old healthy male with the following symptoms:
- A feeling I can only describe as general discomfort localized to the rim of my glans.
- Mild discoloration / redness and swelling of only the top of the rim of my penis. It is usually a light red to a purplish sometimes.
These symptoms are often mild but are pretty steady and get pretty annoying. The symptoms seem to worsen when I shower or have the urge to urinate.

.. My doctor prescribed me metronidazole 4 pills 500 mg each to take all at once.. So me and him ate and then took them this morning/afternoon around mabey 130 or 2 pm.. Well I have been feeling real nauseous and having diharea.. Long story short I three up what looked like everything I've ate today.. Does this mean the meds won't work or did they have enough time to disolve and work its way into my system whenre throwing up wouldn't matter?
