For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily).
I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm.
My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night?
I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
After, I was really worried if either of this (sexual intercourse or the oral sex) would affect my treatment of the BV at all or have an impact on the metronidazole working and its effectiveness? Is it advisable to avoid sex during the course of taking the metronidazole?
BTW I don't have any symptoms of BV anymore though (although I am still continuing to take the medicine).
I just finished a week on it. Same here, bacterial vaginosis. I had it 3 times with my second pregnancy. It was miserable. Hoping I don't have to take that stuff ever again!
Ive taken it with my 2nd pregnancy. My son was fine. Just drink lots of water with it. Youll be okay.
I started taking metronidazole yesterday I took 2 pills that day... today I realized I haven't had my period this month. So I decide to take a pregnancytest before I start my second day on metronidazole. I took the test a 3pm and both test were positive. so I stopped the pills.I was wondering if the medication made my test positive or am I really pregnant.take another prego test? & when?
I am 34 weeks pregnant and am very concerned about all these antibiotics (about 4) i took during my pregnancy, 3 were zithromycin z pack and one was metronidazole for bacterial vaginosis in my third trimester. For all these antibiotics, i received strong reassurance that they are safe to take to treat my common occuring respiratory infections. I am concerned. Is there anyone here who took many antbx during pregnancy and had a healthy child? AMEN...

Does this mean the infection has returned from the first dose of amoxicillin and if so, am I still ok to wait until a week from tomorrow to have the tooth extracted? The reason I have to wait is because the oral surgeon is only in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and I had important projects I have to get done at work before taking days off. Please let me know if I will be ok or not until next week and if maybe I should take the amoxicillin to prevent the infection from spreading.
However, Flagyl is not great in pregnancy and is not recommended in the 1st trimester - if a woman has bv, then it is given in a vaginal cream form because the pros outweigh the cons, as a vaginal infection is an equal threat the fetus. The suppository form of flagyl is much safer than the oral - so I would be careful about taking the oral in the first trimester. I don't know about vancomycin, but isn't that an antibiotic and wouldn't that make the c.diff worse?
Im using metronidazole miconizole suppository second.time again my bv back but the second time is much lighter and not as bad as first time, i used half of the sup i break them in two that time and i guess the reason on second time it didnt cleared up. Now in third time i bought 4 sups and on dayone it went okay. I didnt feel anything untik with day two it started to buble up some whitish that smells like my sup i wanna say my vagina washed away the metronidazole is that a process of changing?
Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause of abnormal vaginal odor and discharge. It is caused by a change in the type of bacteria found in the vagina. In addition to unpleasant "fishy" vaginal odor, thin white or yellowish discharge from vagina may also be present.
Diagnosis can be confirmed after pelvic examination and microscopic
examination of the vaginal discharge. Treatment is by metronidazole ((Flagyl,
MetroGel) and clindamycin (Cleocin).
t say it, but I have a technique to detect it which consists of inserting a finger as deep as I can in my throat, then leaving it for a few seconds to dry up. If the finger smells horrible (and it does), I'm pretty sure my breath does too.
I have very good oral hygiene, use a powerful mouthwash, but I'm still quite sure my breath from deep inside will smell bad.
However, there is ONE thing that helps: taking metronidazole pills.
Though my pain has lessened and I went to doc she gave me Metronidazole Vaginal Gel for 5 days.
Uh, if you have the typical fungal infection in that area, ringworm, you use a cream. It's much less stressful on your system with fewer systemic side effects to use it that way. Taking it orally is much stronger, but has a lot of side effects, and this way it goes directly where your problem is. Make sure you use it as long as recommended, and don't be surprised if it comes back, as this treatment often doesn't get all the eggs. Good luck with it.
I was traveling between cold and hot temperatures, and yes stressed out, during which I also developed bacterial vaginosis and was being treated with vaginal metronidazole (and oral cipro to cover possible UTI). The tingling started the morning after my first metronidazole dose. At no point did I have an obvious lesion, sore throat, fever or swollen lymph nodes.
Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I kissed the gentleman, and the upcoming Saturday 2 weeks since the drink sharing.
And will i my skin recover if i stop using the steroid cream completely and just continue with the metronidazole? Is an oral antibiotic necessary too?
Also, some cdiff have become resistant to the metronidazole and the patient requires oral vancomycin for 2 weeks and then needs to be tapered off the vancomycin over another 2 weeks.
I would predict that the cdiff toxin could last for several days after the infection has cleared but I am no expert of this exact topic.

HSV1 is for oral. HSV2 is for genital herpes. Generally it is not hygienic to give oral sex while you have a cold sore. It is very unlikely you can give her genital herpes though as we re talking for different strains of the virus. First buy some ZOVIRAX cream ( acyclovir ) from the pharmacist and apply it on your lips. It will reduce the duration of the cold sore. Second there are many thing that you can do for periodontal disease.
