The doctor gave me Metronidazole pills to take to treat Trich and should told me i couldnt have any alcohol 3 days before and after takin the pills including the alcohol in mouthwash bc it was cause a bad stomach ache. i was also wondering if this included my toothpaste which has mouthwash beads? Or is regular toothpaste better or not good either?
I'm quite sure I have bad breath, it's hard to tell it for sure because people won't say it, but I have a technique to detect it which consists of inserting a finger as deep as I can in my throat, then leaving it for a few seconds to dry up. If the finger smells horrible (and it does), I'm pretty sure my breath does too.
I have very good oral hygiene, use a powerful mouthwash, but I'm still quite sure my breath from deep inside will smell bad.
i've been sober/clean 24 years.I was told in inpatient to not use mouthwash with alcohol...I never drank it i took this as a form of hysteria....so i used alcohol free and it didn't kill germs like regular.For the past 24 yrs.i've been using regular..has not caused me any problems and probably has killed many germs and evidently not me yet!
Before oral sex se use mouthwas (listerine) with contain alcohol to gargling her mouth. Can a mouthwash increase a risk of hiv?
ve recently read some information that states that consuming alcohol and gargling with mouthwash weakens enzymes and kills off bacteria in human saliva that help to defend against HIV. I am definitely guilty of both (alcohol and mouthwash) before performing unprotected oral and french kissing.
Assuming that my sexual partner is HIV positive, is there any significant risk for my to contract HIV through unprotected oral or french kissing? Is testing recommended?
Find a mouthwash that contains no alcohol.
A hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) solution as a mouthwash twice daily. This is an excellent way to neutralize bacteria that develop along the gum line and contribute to periodontitis (gum disease).
If allowed to build up, bacteria can accumulate in the throat. If the immune system is not functioning at optimum levels, these bacteria may trigger respiratory problems such as pneumonia.
A mouthwash of H2O2 solution is easy to make.
I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV?
Hope someone can shed some light on this.

Hi kevdood83. I took metronidazole and amoxicillin for a nasal infection in mid 2011 and started to develop a white coated tongue. I did some research and came across Grapefruit seed extract. GSE is an anti-virus/bacteria/fungi agent. Put a couple drops in some water or juice and gargle. Start with only a couple drops and work your way up to 4 drops. If you use too many drops it will burn your mouth - you don't want that.
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet.
Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
I was prescribed it last week for a bacterial infection. Took it 4 times and my face started to break out in a rash. Called the pharmacist and then the doctor. Both said i was having an allergic reaction to the medicine. Both said to stop taking it. I go to the doctor next week to ddiscuss other options. So just watch out for that.....
My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.
For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily).
I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm.
My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night?
I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
I went to the obgyn last week they ran urine samples and std tests and everything was okay, I told them I’m spotting still for two weeks now three and cramping the test came back for BV so they prescribed me Metronidazole I felt way too anxious about taking it , Friday I went in for a ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound I believe and got the results today that it was fine. They now prescribed me clindamycin gel which I will pick up tomorrow due to pharmacy out of stock.
and have been doing the best dental hygiene I can, using pre-rinse, proxy brushing, regular brushing, flossing, and a fluoride mouthwash. The fluoride mouthwash is what I wanted to ask about. I've been using Listerine Defense, but I find that it is too strong...I've read that you shouldn't water down any fluoride mouthwash...is that true? Is there any other mouthwash that you would recommend?
This would mean that half of the participants would be using mouthwash, and half would be using something that tasted like mouthwash, with no active ingredients, and then both sets of subjects would have to be deliberately exposed to COVID. I'm sure you can see the ethical dilemma and subject recruitment problems that would create.
