metronidazole and g6pd

My son suffers from hyper thyroid and G6PD. He is 3 years and 3 months old. Still now he cannot stand or walk without support. Even if he is made to walk by holding his hands for one minutes he wants to sit or crawl. He never wants to eat. Whenever he sees breakfast or food (he eats only rice and lentil porridge), he starts to cough. Sometimes he puts his fingers in his mouth to start vomiting. Though he has teeth he never wants to chew.

He was advised to have SGOT and SGPT and the lab test result is SGPT 68.00 and SGOT 92.9. He is a G6PD baby and I was worried if he has hemolitic anemia already. Can someone explain the implication of high SGOT and SGPT to a G6PD baby? Thanks for ur answer..

When I was 21 I had a UTI and was prescribed Macrodantin and it was discovered 1 week later that I had G6PD Deficiency. I was hospitalized in very serious condition. I was anemic and it was getting worse, my bilirubin was way high, I was jaundiced, I had weight loss, fever, and I eventually had a couple of seizures. Two years ago I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis after having a chest cold that just would not go away.

So until now I have no options for treatment because of the G6PD, and I have had this penis issue since January so I am worried it will get serious eventually. So till this day I dont have severe symptoms... My penis opening looks slimy at times from the inside, but it does not smell. When I went for a jog the other day my testicle felt like I have (Blue Balls).. I just want this to go away...

I take a lot of medicines & vitamins regularly. Recently I developed a blood clot, and I did read on this site that Aspirin helps with time. The only disease I have is G6PD I have no allergies or anything Is it okay to try it Aspirin ?!

There is no association between your G6PD and your risk of getting HIV. No relationship of any sort.

My dentist gave me acetaminophen/cod and I took one last night when I felt tooth pain and I felt fine after taking it but I just remember that I have Mild G6PD Deficiency, the office is close now so nobody is picking up when I called.

I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV? Hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks!

at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...

Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet. Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.

I took metronidazole gel at about 20 weeks for bv and baby is fine now at about 28 weeks

I was prescribed it last week for a bacterial infection. Took it 4 times and my face started to break out in a rash. Called the pharmacist and then the doctor. Both said i was having an allergic reaction to the medicine. Both said to stop taking it. I go to the doctor next week to ddiscuss other options. So just watch out for that.....

Has anyone ever used oral metronidazole for a vaginal bacterial infection? I'm on my 5th of 7th day and have developed a very thick clear to cloudy mucousy discharge. Is this normal. I know the gel form will pull everything out in a thick white chunky discharge but does the oral pill.

My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.

For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily). I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm. My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night? I went to the obgyn last week they ran urine samples and std tests and everything was okay, I told them I’m spotting still for two weeks now three and cramping the test came back for BV so they prescribed me Metronidazole I felt way too anxious about taking it , Friday I went in for a ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound I believe and got the results today that it was fine. Hi my name is jennifer I been taking antibiotics for the past 2 weeks, Omeprazole 20 mg, Metronidazole 500 mg and Clarithromycin 500 mg and also I been taking my birth control pills for the past 3 weeks (Jolivette).
