I am a 34 year old mother and about a year ago I was told that I have 2 cysts in my thyroid. One is in the right lobe and the other on the front resting on my wind pipe. Recently the cysts have started to grow and I am feeling increasing discomfort, especially with the cyst that rests on my wind pipe. My doctor has said that I will probably need the cysts removing, and as you can't just remove the cyst will have to have half of my thyroid removed.
Ethanol, (C2H6O),is present in any type of alcholic beverage. It's a vasodialator, so your heart will beat faster to maintain blood pressure. If you are print to SVT, any alcoholic beverage can be a trigger.
Has anyone had PEI done? I have a 3.9 cm benign cyst and just had an ethanol injection this morning. I understand it is supposed to take 3-6 weeks for the cyst to shrink and that there is a 90-95% success rate with this procedure. The endo said he expected the cyst to return to it's original large size over the next couple of days. It seems as if it's almost back up to that size and it's only been a few hours. Is this normal? Can I still hope for good results over time?

I found an original post dated 11/24/08 about Ethanol/Alcohol Ablation but at that time according to the reply it still wasn't available in the US. I've been told by my doctor that I'm hyperthyroid and have mild T3 toxicosis likely from a toxic MNG or Hot nodule. Anyway I would like to find a doctor today that is doing Ethanol/Alcohol Ablation. It's been a few years since the original post and I'm hoping that it's now being done in the US.
I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV?

Is it best to have my cyst aspirated more than once? It is a large 3.5 cm cyst on my right thyroid lobe. During my FNA biopsy 3 months ago, 30 mL of fluid aspirated. However, it filled back up within 10 days and has steadily increased in size since.
This was my only attempt to have it aspirated.
Lab tests for ethanol are measured in mg/DL (miligrams per decilitre.) To convert your results to blood alcohol level, move the decimal three places to the left. In your case, your BAC would be 0.18, which is above the legal drinking limit in the USA and Canada.
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet.
Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
I was prescribed it last week for a bacterial infection. Took it 4 times and my face started to break out in a rash. Called the pharmacist and then the doctor. Both said i was having an allergic reaction to the medicine. Both said to stop taking it. I go to the doctor next week to ddiscuss other options. So just watch out for that.....
