Avatar n tn Around 6 weeks later I started to experience irritation of penis tip, this then went onto cause groin, perineum and testicle pain. I also experience clear sticky discharge on occasions. I visited GUM clinic in uk and all tests were negative (gon, chlam and NSU as I asked to be tested for that). I visited urologist who tested prostate with massage and sample, no inflammation found.
Avatar m tn A day or two later there was one incident of severe burning and need to urinate for just an hour or two. The pain subsided, but being cautious I went to Planned Parenthood where they did a "cursory urinalysis" (dipped the paper strip into the urine and checked the color change). The Dr. said based on the above narrative and urinalysis, she assumed Clymidia, and treated me with two single dose antibiotics. I continued to have very mild pain so went to a GP.
Avatar f tn I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV? Hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks!
Avatar n tn t able to go back to the doctor for a follow up because I was away at college. In January I went back to the gyn and I took a dose of metronidazole. There was no reduction in symptoms and I'm still having issues with discharge, itching, burning during urination and just general irritation. Recently, my right labia has been causing me discomfort while, walking, exercising or just laying down. Does this discomfort have anything to do with BV?
Avatar f tn My doc prescribed Metronidazole for that, and two days later I had a horrible fever and chills all night long (which I thought was a side effect of the Metronidazole) and my right breast was horribly red and really sore! I also had a cramp in the right side ovary. I went back to the doc, for the ovary pain (thinking the breast thing would resolve itself I stupidly didn't mention it to him).
Avatar f tn I would as your doctor.
Avatar f tn When I found out that I had trich, I bought Metronidazole and took 2grams (1 dosage) of it. Metronidazole made me feel really sick! Anyway, after a week I realized that I still had trich. Exactly the same symptoms were still there. So, I took Tinidazole.. a 2g dose. When will this take effect? I took tinidazole after I had dinner and went to sleep right away so that I won't feel the side effects of which I had when I took Metronidazole.
Avatar f tn I have never in my life had a lesion or any of the symptoms, but over a week ago I began feeling minor pain in my buttocks and down both legs, and occasionally my lower back. Since herpes can affect the sciatic nerve, this freaked me out. Also, I keep feeling a burning sensation around my labia minora, but the clinicians I've seen have all said it's because of the yeast infection I am treating right now.
Avatar n tn at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
Avatar f tn I went to the obgyn last week they ran urine samples and std tests and everything was okay, I told them I’m spotting still for two weeks now three and cramping the test came back for BV so they prescribed me Metronidazole I felt way too anxious about taking it , Friday I went in for a ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound I believe and got the results today that it was fine. They now prescribed me clindamycin gel which I will pick up tomorrow due to pharmacy out of stock.
Avatar m tn I started to have pains in the right and left quadrants. Mainly on the right which radiates back over a large area. can this be due to colon spasms? The pain type is irregular. Somettimes it is almost zero but sometimes it is mild.
Avatar f tn We have been using protection condoms after that and waited 10 days before having sex. Now the pain and discharge is back again. She went to the clinic and came up negative for ngu but came up positive for bacterial vaginosis. She and I started to take metronidazole today that's what the clinic gave her. Also I tested negative for chlamydia and gonorrhea. We are waiting for her results back.
Avatar f tn The doctor prescribed me a mega dose of the metronidazole and said I should feel better in 24 hours. I did NOT feel better in 24 hrs I waited a week because everything online kept telling me the symptoms could take a week to subside but when they didn’t I called my doctor and she prescribed me another mega dose. This one did absolutely nothing but make my symptoms worse my cervix hurt so bad.
Avatar f tn I took a hot bath hoping to relieve the pain and that didnt help at all. By this time i was in so much pain (starting with my right lower stomach/bladder area, down the right side of my pelvis, inside my vagina towards the right side, and up inside my lower back or rectum) when I got out of the bath i looked at my vagina and inside was very inflamed and swollen and as i was putting on clothes to head to the ER, I noticed a lump in my right lower stomach/groin area.
Avatar f tn I have been on fiber supplements which really help. But my anus feels uncomfortable and there is a mild-moderate pain at times.
Girl On the 19th of February I tested positive For C-Diff/Colitis, and was put on antibiotics (Metronidazole 500 mg 1 tablet 3 per day) for 2 weeks. Half way through this the pain was intense and the Dr's could not hear any bowel sounds and ended up spending 9 days in the hospital. My question is how long is it before the toxins go away, and then safe to get tested again to make sure the pain I am still in, isn't because the C-Diff hasn't gone away completely.
Avatar n tn I took only 2 days' worth of flagyl (metronidazole) 3 months ago. After the first 2 days, I noticed tingling/burning in my feet, so I didn't take anymore. It initially lasted about 3 days. Then, I was completely symptom-free for a month. Then, the pain came back. It's been off and on since, but has seemed to have gotten more intense and is sometimes in my hands as well.
Avatar n tn ve also been having isolated stabbing shock-like pains in my back and neck that do *not* correlate with any kind of neck or head movement, and sensitivity sometimes when i touch my spine along my back and neck and the muscles nearby. the only thing that helps is physical therapy which seems to relax the muscles and the nerve pain goes away for a couple of days then returns.
Avatar m tn I have started to loose weight and started to feel mild pain in my lower back and legs. Is my doctor on the right track ? Is it a parasite my problem or could this be caused by something else like krohn disease or pancreatic problem ? I really appreciate your comments. Thankyou for your help.
Avatar m tn t helping and the tests gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HIV and others were all negative. I came back in and was tested Trichomoniasis gonorrhea, and chlamydia while being prescribed metronidazole and azithromycin as prophylactic. I am on day 3 of 7 of the new meds and again all the test came back negative but I still have dysuria. In addition this morning while urinating I had what looked like a little tiny clear sack of liquid come out of my penis with a drop or two of blood.
Avatar f tn BV is a major pain. I had that a long time ago and it lingered. It would be gone and reappear which is not uncommon. If you are sexually active, your partner could be passing the bacteria to you. It happens. They take medication too which solves that. Many women get BV all on their own too as this bacteria loves moist, warm, dark environments.
Avatar f tn turns out it was just Bacterial Vaginosis which is just an upset in normal bacteria in the vagina. I was given Metronidazole with is just an anti-infective and viola! all is well with the world.
Avatar f tn *Did not mean to put that as the title* But i need answers for if I'm able to masturbate while taking metronidazole pills and does anyone know if BV odor goes away after taking metronidazole cause i’m still dealing with the odor while taking the pills
Avatar f tn I had a single dental extraction and bone graft performed on Thursday, March 13th after two bad root canals and a bad crown that wasn't sealed on properly by another dentist. He also scraped away alot of infection due to the crown and root canals being "bad." It's now Tuesday the 18th (5 and 1 half days after) and my pain has increased. My periodontist is wonderful - he even saw me today after I called worried about the pain and throbbing I'm still having.
Avatar m tn I'm quite sure I have bad breath, it's hard to tell it for sure because people won't say it, but I have a technique to detect it which consists of inserting a finger as deep as I can in my throat, then leaving it for a few seconds to dry up. If the finger smells horrible (and it does), I'm pretty sure my breath does too. I have very good oral hygiene, use a powerful mouthwash, but I'm still quite sure my breath from deep inside will smell bad.
Avatar n tn t gotten my results, yet. I stopped taking the Ciprofloxacin and the Metronidazole, and I feel way better. I still have the occasional pain, and the HIDA scan hurt really bad, too. It didn't click that it could've been my medications until today (Sunday), and obviously I won't be seeing my doc. Is it possible that these medications could have caused me to have a gallbladder attack? If so, will all of these tests find anything?
Avatar n tn The pain seems to subside for maybe 5 minutes, but then comes back in waves, that shoot pain up to my ear and all through my cheek. I have a root canal scheduled for a month from now, since the infection apparently needs to lessen before they can fix the tooth. Any suggestions on how to make the pain stop? or at least be more bearable? Should I get a second opinion?
