1554921 tn?1294370388 I have lived my whole life in hot climates and never been in cold climates. About 2 years ago, my first winter here my face began to breakout, but not acne. I went to the doctor (general practice) and after looking and a few questions, the doctor said i had Rosacea. I have never had this before, only when it started to get cold. After my first winter, and the weather got warm again, my face slowly began to clear up. Now the winter came again and my face broke out again.
Avatar f tn My dermatologist recommended me to use cindamicin phosphate at 7.00 am, metronidazole gel USP at 3.00pm and the mixture of tretin A and benzoyl peroxide at night . How long will it take to see an improvement? Are those combinations safe to use?
Avatar f tn I would guess that this is Rosacea. I say this because I had it. And I say I HAD it because I SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the symptoms by reducing the stress in my life. In 2003 I noticed the same thing as you. I started to have something like acne, but it wasn't exactly like the kind of acne we're used to as a teenager. I would get little sort-of pus filled bumps on my cheeks. Though first it started with just red areas that then became inflamed. No itch or pain or anything.
Avatar f tn My face gets red when I take hot showers, when I change from a cool setting to a warm setting. I have some old acne dark spots and they get darker when I blush. I feel my face warm and honestly, it is very uncomfortable. I have tried avoiding the sun, I have even taken claritin thinking it could be an allergy. I do not know what to do. I was told that maybe I have Physical Urticaria, but I have researched and yes although I have some symptoms, I never itch.
Avatar f tn About a month ago my dermatologist put me on Bactrim for acne. The Bactrim worked great and my face has cleared up amazingly, but, about two weeks ago, I started having symptoms of what I thought was a vaginal yeast infection. I have never had a yeast infection before, but I understand they are common with antibiotics. My primary symptoms were a burning irritation of the vagina and increased frequency of urination. I called my dermatologist and he prescribed 150mg Fluconizole.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with a steriod induced rosacea, my question is this, will there be continual break outs while on treatment? I've been on treatment for a little over 2 weeks and it seems as if my face is getting bad again. It has not completly cleared up but is about 75% better then what it was before I was diagnosed. I am no longer on the steroid, off for 2 weeks now but am having "acne" if you will, breaking out still.
Avatar m tn and she said it was an infection that got into her kidneys. They gave her metronidazole which is used for trich but not kidney infections that I know of. Is there a reason they would prescribe this medication for an infection of the kidneys or am I wrong for being suspicious. We don't have sex for months and she is always out and coming home late.
Avatar n tn Hi guys, as the title says, has anyone tried Metronidazole and had some relief from PATM ? Would be helpful to know that.
Avatar n tn I went to several different doctors and they all told me I have Peri oral Dermatitis. I was prescribed Metronidazole at first and with no luck. The dryness slowly got worse and the red spots were not going away. I used Phisioderm to wash my wash my face and the dryness disappeared in a few days but then came back just as quick. After seeing a dermatologist he prescribed me Doxycycline for 1 month and an ointment made of Clindamycin 2%, HC 1% in 80% h20 and 20% isopropanol.
Avatar n tn After waxing within the 3 days after I developed red bumps in those areas. I am not sure if you can consider it rosacea or not. I have had acne prone skin for my whole life but recently got over it, so I am not stressed and worried as my skin is no longer clear. The bumps are very close together and feel very rough, they are also quite sore. I have tried the old toothpaste remedies, baking soda, asprin masks and face steamers and nothing is helping.
Avatar n tn I have no pain when urinating. I have been to the doctor and have taken Ampicillin, metronidazole, Acyclovir, ketoconazole in that order. I recently went to the Dermatoligist and he gave me Cloderm to apply to the infected area. Now it is spreading down the penis. I have also had tingling in my fingers and toes but I'm not sure if that is related. I am also very sensitive to Poison Ivy. Can you help me?
Avatar m tn So sorry you are not well. It sounds like you picked up a bug/infection somewhere. Could be from the water or food. Salmonella or e coli perhaps. Maybe just H Pylori. In any case, you need a doctor. In the meantime, try drinking 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in your glass of water. That's good for Salmonella. But H Pylori and e coli need a medical prescription.
Avatar n tn My whole face is really red to, and stops at my neck. I do have acne, and have been on Accutane for about 4.5 months. I dont know if this may be the problem or what else?
Avatar m tn Thank you so much..Initially i was worried about that this one could have acne.. Past few days i didn't see any aggressive or new pimples... I'm not sure it's getting settled by itself or bec of doxy pills.. anyway i'm start working on treadmill to get more sweating & cleaning up my skin pores...then.washing my face twice a day with mild deep moisture bath soap....i Hope one day i will get my clean skin back.... Thanks again....
Avatar f tn In addition to redness, there are usually small red bumps or pus bumps, and mild peeling. Sometimes the bumps are the most obvious feature, and the disease can look a lot like acne. The areas most affected are within the borders of the lines from the nose, to the sides of the lips, and the chin. There is frequent sparing of a small band of skin that borders the lips. Occasionally, the areas around the nose, eyes, and cheeks can be affected. Sometimes there is mild itching or burning.
Avatar f tn I took metronidazole gel at about 20 weeks for bv and baby is fine now at about 28 weeks

Avatar n tn For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily). I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm. My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night? I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
Avatar f tn Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet. Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
1472764 tn?1287588186 Has anyone ever used oral metronidazole for a vaginal bacterial infection? I'm on my 5th of 7th day and have developed a very thick clear to cloudy mucousy discharge. Is this normal. I know the gel form will pull everything out in a thick white chunky discharge but does the oral pill.
Avatar m tn My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.
Avatar f tn It has now been 13 days on the Doxycycline (of a 30 day cycle total ) and 4 days applying the Metronidazole 0.75% gel only at night, once a day. Thankfully, there has been much improvement since then. So far, no more flareups, hardly any itching only when my skin gets too dry, and during the day when I don't use the Metrogel, my skin is not as red anymore (more pink or normal in color) or bumpy. I just have one more question though.
