I started using metronidazole gel for a possible yeast infection/ mild vaginal infection. I am married and have had the same sex partner for many years. I started to get bladder pressure and burning and thats why I went in to the obgyn yesterday. She prescribed me this gel and I started taking it yesterday and twice today morning and evening. Tonight when I used the tube I took it out and it had a few specks of almost blood clot looking things.

The gel is more effective since it stays on your skin and penetrates better than the wash. I wouldn't recommend using them both unless your acne is severe, it may causes excessively dry skin or irritation.
If you are having inflammatory acne then tetracycline or doxycycline or minocycline; benzoyl peroxide 5% gel; azelaic acid 20% cream; clindamycin 1% lotion or cream; erythromycin 2% gel or cream.
If you are having recalcitrant acne in women then probably oral contraceptive containing norgestimate 0.25 mg and ethinyl estradiol 0.035 mg; spironolactone; prednisone.
If you have acne where sweating is an aggravating factor then aluminum chloride solution should be your choice of your treatment.
I'm on the final day of taking metronidazole gel and I've noticed bloody clumpy discharge. Is this a sign the infection is going away or should I be concerned cause I'm on Depo-provera so I don't have my period.

It has now been 13 days on the Doxycycline (of a 30 day cycle total ) and 4 days applying the Metronidazole 0.75% gel only at night, once a day. This time, she gave me an oral antifungal called terbinafine and also gave me desonate gel, another corticosteroid. She said if it is fungal, the terbinafine should clear it up right away since it's a rather small rash. She also said that if it's contact dermatitis, the desonate gel would clear it up. So, I went on with her directions and took the terbinafine for 10 days and used the desonate for 14 days.
