I've been using metrogel for a few months now for a place on my cheek. It's finally clearing up, but my entire face was scratched up today, including the area I typically treat with metrogel. Is the metrogel safe to use on fresh scratches and sores to continue treatment. If so, would it be good to also put the metrogel on my entire face to help with all the scratch marks?
My doctor perscribed me Metrogel 0.75. I have been using it since Jan 18th 2010 (last month). For the most part I have been clear, however I still see some LIGHT red areas like they are fading away. Have I not used it long enough? BUT, I cleaned the house yesterday, and now today I have a larger red area in the corner of my eye..probably from sweating? My doctor reccommended I take Doxycycline 100mg, accept I took two pills and had total stomach pain -with or without food!
My question is.
Did you have any face or skin sensitivity before Tx ?
Which week are you in the treatement ?

The exact same thing happened to me at about the same time in the post tx cycle. The good news is that the rosacea will get better. The bad news is that it could take some time, at least if it follows the pattern it did with me. Rosaea has a lot of "triggers". Some are shared by most, some are unique to the individual. You will find yours soon enough.
Rosacea skin can be very sensitive and fragile skin. It's affected by both very hot and very cold weather.
After visiting a women’s health center (about two weeks ago) because of these symptoms, I was diagnosed with Bacterial Vaginosis(BV), but the metrogel I was prescribed gave me a yeast infection. It also made my hands and feet feel tingly so I stopped it after 2 applications. The yeast infection went away with my period.
Hi everyone...Recently I have been having several problems with the skin on my face. Up until about a year ago I had absolutely flawless skin. I'm 22 years old and live in Florida and used to go tanning alot but stopped about a year and a half ago. It started when I went on the birth control-nuva ring for ovarian cysts about 5 months ago and recently changed to yaz and have seen no difference.
The NP precribed metrogel for 5 days at bedtime. I havent found the courage to take it yet, because its inserted vaginally. The warning states its a category B and can be passed through the placenta. Has anyone else taken metrogel during their pregnancy? If so wad everything ok?
I do use Metrogel for Roseacea and when out of town for a wedding and had to share a bathroom with 9 people, rushed and forgot and put Metrogel on the area under my nose (never done that before) and might have gotten some on my lip in that area. That's been 2 weeks, tho. I was in the sun 3 of those days .....
I tried a search and came up with basal cell carcinoma and saw several places that said the lip is a VERY DANGEROUS spot to have BCC. That terrified me.
Thanks for your response. I use 0.05% Clobetasol for about 2-3 days at most, but then it comes back in about 7days to 2 weeks. Is 0.05% Clobetasol still a high potency because of the type of cortisone or is that concentration not too bad? I am trying to use Eucerin fragrance free face cream with sunscreen on it often to keep it hydrated. Will the bumps go away on their own if I don't use the cortisone? It seems like they get worse if you don't use anything. My GP said to use the 0.
I was tested positive for HIV this February. I have been an occasional user of MDMA via syringe. I tested negative for Hepatitis B and C. During the first week of June, I suddenly came down with a fever which wouldn't go away. Later the doctors found a lesion on my liver, for which I was treated with Metronidazole (Metrogel) injections, and later metrogel tablets. Recent CT scan shows "a cystic lesion on the liver, measuring 4x3.5 cms with a smooth enhancing wall seen in segment IV.
In the beginning of May I experinced some usual vaginal discharge and itchiness and I went to the doctor and I was told I had Bacterial Vaginosis and was given Metrogel 0.

My conclusion - the redness is a reaction to the pegasys injection and comes 24-36 hours after the injection, better not to use any thing for that but Noritate, anything else makes it worse, also it is a must to avoid sun.
Jim - you said that Noritate also good for Seborrhea and not just for rosacea, how did you conclude that ? from my experience it looks like that you might be right.
m asking because I have recurrent bacterial vaginosis infections - i have tried metrogel, flagyll tindamax, clindesse, i have it again.. I bought plain yogurt and mixed it with acidophillous powder and inserting it using a metrogel applicator at night, I always wear a liner because of bv anyway, but there is a LOT of discharge. Am I doing this right? has anyone else had good results with this method? how long should it take for symptoms to go away.
It wouldn't particularly hurt to re-treat the yeast, once you finish the full run of the metro gel.
