I'll be 20 weeks Monday and my doctor also prescribed me Metronidazole Gel. I'm gonna take the second round tonight. I'd rather take it than not and experience the complications of having bv in the second trimester. I googled it first and it said bv untreated can cause premature rupture of membranes, preterm labor, and uterus infection. Just don't insert it all the way, as I do. My doctor said only about an inch.
I've been using metrogel for a few months now for a place on my cheek. It's finally clearing up, but my entire face was scratched up today, including the area I typically treat with metrogel. Is the metrogel safe to use on fresh scratches and sores to continue treatment. If so, would it be good to also put the metrogel on my entire face to help with all the scratch marks?
I'm 9 weeks now with severe pregnancy acne on my cheeks n chin. My dermatologist put on Finacea 15% gel and Metrogel 1% both of.which are more than $200 each a tube. Were you guys prescribed anything else that's pregnancy safe by your derm?
Has anyone else had this issue early in their pregnancy? If so, were you prescribed the standard 5 day metrogel treatment or something else? I really want to wait a few more days so my bf and I can go together and see our little peanut for the first time together (he doesn't get off work in time for the clinic hours). Will I be okay waiting a few more days or should I go right away?
I was tested positive for HIV this February. I have been an occasional user of MDMA via syringe. I tested negative for Hepatitis B and C. During the first week of June, I suddenly came down with a fever which wouldn't go away. Later the doctors found a lesion on my liver, for which I was treated with Metronidazole (Metrogel) injections, and later metrogel tablets. Recent CT scan shows "a cystic lesion on the liver, measuring 4x3.5 cms with a smooth enhancing wall seen in segment IV.
m hoping I can take the valtrex for a couple days, get less sore then try the metrogel( for bv)... Idk.. 2 weeks a ago found out I was pregnant. Is the pregnancy the reasoning had an outbreak? I've been with my boyfriend for 7months. I was ready to go off on him but then the doctor told me I could have had it for years . So now I'm acres to even tell him b I could have had I all along. Another question I have is will the pregnancy make me have breakout more often?
It wouldn't particularly hurt to re-treat the yeast, once you finish the full run of the metro gel.
Hi. I'm almost 26 weeks pregnant I've had some type of bacterial infection for a couple weeks now. The Dr didn't say what kind exactly but probably bacterial vaginosis or something of the sort. My question is I tried metrogel twice as he said and it has not gone away. They aren't open until Monday should I go to the emergency room or wait until they can see me when I call Monday afternoon?
Its a prescription, so if they won't just call it in, which they usually don't because even though you no they want to make sure. You will probably have to be seen.
s own and is gone confirmed 2 times by doctor.I was given metrogel I used 1 dose and had difficulty breathing headache and tremors.so the doc said stop med.Then went to see a gyno specialist and she said same bv and she removed a polyp from cervix it was benign she also told me I tested positive for urea plasma all my other std test are negative.HIv neg.no chlamydia,gonorrhea, trichomonosis all negative.she prescribed metrogel and doxycycline I tried the metro gel was taken off.
The doctor now prescribed Doxycyline for 1 month and Metrogel 1%. There has been improvement, but very slowly with 2 flare ups so far. It has been two weeks since I stopped the steroid completely.
Will it ever go away? Will my skin return to the way it was before the steroid use? (I never had rosacea before)

Hi guys so I just went to the restroom and had a lot of discharge and inside the discharge there was very little blood but it looked like it was kinda veiny. Like brownish reddish veins. It wasn't all over. I don't have any cramping or anything like that but I'm a little conserned. I took metrogel for the first time last night bcuz I have a bacteria. Idk if it's just cleaning it out or wat it could be.
I have a yeast infection might start my period soon and im on Fluconazole and metronidazole (2 pills 72 hours apart and metrogel for 5 days once every bed time) yesterday was my first day on pill and gel and today i notiched like this blood like little clumps nothing like discharge i want to know if its normal ?
No temporary cure the best is the latest Clindesse 2% vaginal cream, single dose x 1 and that's it. Other options metrogel x 5 days, or po flagyl.

You most likely have bacteria vaginosis and flagyl is not suppose to be taken in first trimester! I was suffering from this for first 8 wks it will only cause preterm labor in later pregnancy. I finally ended up taking the metrogel supositories at 8wks because I couldn't deal anymore with the symptoms.

m asking because I have recurrent bacterial vaginosis infections - i have tried metrogel, flagyll tindamax, clindesse, i have it again.. I bought plain yogurt and mixed it with acidophillous powder and inserting it using a metrogel applicator at night, I always wear a liner because of bv anyway, but there is a LOT of discharge. Am I doing this right? has anyone else had good results with this method? how long should it take for symptoms to go away.
