I've been using metrogel for a few months now for a place on my cheek. It's finally clearing up, but my entire face was scratched up today, including the area I typically treat with metrogel. Is the metrogel safe to use on fresh scratches and sores to continue treatment. If so, would it be good to also put the metrogel on my entire face to help with all the scratch marks?
My doctor perscribed me Metrogel 0.75. I have been using it since Jan 18th 2010 (last month). For the most part I have been clear, however I still see some LIGHT red areas like they are fading away. Have I not used it long enough? BUT, I cleaned the house yesterday, and now today I have a larger red area in the corner of my eye..probably from sweating? My doctor reccommended I take Doxycycline 100mg, accept I took two pills and had total stomach pain -with or without food!
My question is.
The NP precribed metrogel for 5 days at bedtime. I havent found the courage to take it yet, because its inserted vaginally. The warning states its a category B and can be passed through the placenta. Has anyone else taken metrogel during their pregnancy? If so wad everything ok?
Not only did I have to be put on antibiotics but I had to use something called Metrogel that cost me $50 for a tube that is inserted daily into my vagina until the tube is empty. I think for me it was a 10 day treatment. You can get alot of pain and burning and itchyness if you dont treat this. and anytime you pee it will feel like someone is passing a lite match against your crotch. It's not a joke. Take care of yourself it's important if in the future you want kids.
I heard that it is possible to increase testicle size by injecting certain hormones, is this true? If so, are the results permanent?
PS Is there any other way to increase testicle size eg by culturing leydig cells or something like that?
I was tested positive for HIV this February. I have been an occasional user of MDMA via syringe. I tested negative for Hepatitis B and C. During the first week of June, I suddenly came down with a fever which wouldn't go away. Later the doctors found a lesion on my liver, for which I was treated with Metronidazole (Metrogel) injections, and later metrogel tablets. Recent CT scan shows "a cystic lesion on the liver, measuring 4x3.5 cms with a smooth enhancing wall seen in segment IV.

When I get out of the shower or overheated, I have a pink spot on the skin just above my upper lip, touching the lip line. It's approx. 2 cm long by 1/4th cm high. There's also a tingling sensation at times.
The skin there looks slightly different but I'm 62 and have had age spots burned off in my hairline, etc. I am female, never smoked, don't drink and have never had a cold sore or tested positive for HPV. I do not sunbathe but grew up in the south.
On Saturday 8/20 I was floating the river in an tube, and came across some rapids. The tube flipped over and I fell down the rapids without my tube or any protection. When I got to the bottom of the rapids I could feel a terrible pain about and inch or so above my genitals, but I climbed back into the tube and floated the rest of the way.

I think he mentioned in situ carcenoma but he needed to discuss some more with pathologist. Talked about lymph nodes being removed which means more surgery and some chemo. By the way, he did talk to pathologist briefly while we were there but wants to review my report again with him before my appointment.
Hi everyone...Recently I have been having several problems with the skin on my face. Up until about a year ago I had absolutely flawless skin. I'm 22 years old and live in Florida and used to go tanning alot but stopped about a year and a half ago. It started when I went on the birth control-nuva ring for ovarian cysts about 5 months ago and recently changed to yaz and have seen no difference.
The doctor now prescribed Doxycyline for 1 month and Metrogel 1%. There has been improvement, but very slowly with 2 flare ups so far. It has been two weeks since I stopped the steroid completely.
Will it ever go away? Will my skin return to the way it was before the steroid use? (I never had rosacea before)

Also, she was on Metrogel and she was allergic to it and it gave her second degree burns. She has healed from that but wonders if there are any prolonged affects of a problem like that. Lastly, she was on a steroid (diprolene) for years for the face (lupus). After the bad burns from the Metrogel, and it healed the dermatologist took her off of the steroid cold turkey and said to just use certain creams until the breakouts from the steroid went away.
I have been treated in the past with dry ice treatmtents. Recently I have been prescribed Minocin, and Metrogel. The metrogel seems to burn my skin. Does laser work for Rosacea? It is $1,800 for the treatment.
I am 54 years old and recently had my thyroid removed due to cancer. Could my Synthroid meds be aggravating this condition. Could these blisters be facial herpes, shingles. I have had this for about 6 months. I can't get into a dermatologist until September.

I have a yeast infection might start my period soon and im on Fluconazole and metronidazole (2 pills 72 hours apart and metrogel for 5 days once every bed time) yesterday was my first day on pill and gel and today i notiched like this blood like little clumps nothing like discharge i want to know if its normal ?
No temporary cure the best is the latest Clindesse 2% vaginal cream, single dose x 1 and that's it. Other options metrogel x 5 days, or po flagyl.
After seeing several dermatologists and trying all sorts of topical creams/ointments (metrogel, elidel, clindomycin, etc.) and various tetracycline antiboidics (tetra, mino, and doxy), my current dermatologist diagnosed me with perioral dermatitis and prescribed Sulfacet-R, which basically made these pustules cease for about 18 months.
Surgery became a very complicated surgery, and he ended up with a t-tube for the last 3 weeks. He had a t-tube cholangiogram done, with no leaks noted on thursday. They pulled the tube, and he had a large amount of bile leakage for about 8 hours, then it stopped.
We noted that his abdomen was becoming distended after removal of tube. today it was larger, but not excessivley so. Was told to go back to e/r. C/t revealed that he had air in the abdominal cavity about the size of a cantaloupe.
I was diagnosed 2 years ago with Fallopian tube cancer at the age of 48. I had a complete hysterectomy (removal of uterus, fallopian tubes, and both ovaries. Then 6 rounds of chemo. After chemo, I had a CT scan. The CT scan showed a 2 cm size soft tissue structure behind the bladder. A follow CT scan 6 weeks later showed the same thing. Both scan reports said that it could be the right ovary. My pathology report said that both ovaries had been removed.
