Common Questions and Answers about Metrogel redness

metrogel

Avatar n tn I have been treated in the past with dry ice treatmtents. Recently I have been prescribed Minocin, and Metrogel. The metrogel seems to burn my skin. Does laser work for Rosacea? It is $1,800 for the treatment. I am 54 years old and recently had my thyroid removed due to cancer. Could my Synthroid meds be aggravating this condition. Could these blisters be facial herpes, shingles. I have had this for about 6 months. I can't get into a dermatologist until September. Help!
Avatar m tn Hi. I use the Rosaliac range by La Roche-Posay which is very helpful for Rosacea. Other good brands for redness are Eucerin's Redness Relief range and Clinique's Redness Solutions. A course of oral oxytetracycline will also be beneficial.
Avatar n tn I had breast augmentation in April, and have experienced the same thing. I have had a constant redness around my breasts and directly beneath them since surgery. I recently began using metrogel, which has helped a little. Please update after visiting with your surgeon. I will advise mine of this recent complaint. It justifies alot of my symptoms.
Avatar f tn Please I am desperate!!!! I have had this for 2 years already. I get these small red pimples around my nose and in my chin that burns don't know what to do. The doctors think is rosecea but I have been using metrogel and it doesn't seem to work if I put cortisone I get more of those small little pimples. I hate to have the pimples but i hate even more that are red and that they burn.
Avatar m tn In general, the Sulfa or Rezamid is for pimples/pustules and the Metrogel for redness. If any scaling I will use Elidel Cream which also can help the redness. Occasionally I just mix up two or three on my hand and apply them together. The above seems to work for me but you may have to experiment. Very important to use a very strong and non-irritating sunscreen if the sun is a trigger which it is for many with rosacea. I found the Blue Lizard Sunscreen products excellent.
Avatar f tn I've been using metrogel for a few months now for a place on my cheek. It's finally clearing up, but my entire face was scratched up today, including the area I typically treat with metrogel. Is the metrogel safe to use on fresh scratches and sores to continue treatment. If so, would it be good to also put the metrogel on my entire face to help with all the scratch marks?
Avatar f tn I went to dermatologist who told me I have sensitive skin with some broken capillaries and prescribed metrogel , which did nothing for me. Metrogel is prescribed for rosacea , but I never had any serious redness, just the normal flushing sometimes like everybody else in the world. Right now I have burning face pain and very oily skin , but no redness at all. Could I be allergic to something or is it something else?
Avatar f tn My doctor has given me metrogel and said it could be rosacea, but the redness has increased since using it and i now flush every single time i eat. But another doctor has said it looks like mild acne due to the amount of blackheads and clogged pores i have. Can skin become inflamed from too many clogged pores? And if so does food aggravate it the same as it would with rosacea? I'm just confused and wish i had a definate diagnosis.
493068 tn?1224765315 s more redness, more postules or more scaling. The Metrogel seems to work best for redness, the Razmid or Sodium for pustules (pimples) and the Elidel for scaling. Seriously considered laser treatments but seem to have it under control not to mention the expense. Like TnHepGuy, I was congratulated by one of my top doc consultants on finishing treatment but he said he never heard about tx-induced rosacea and would get back to me after checking around. He never did.
Avatar f tn sometimes the ph of a partners ejaculate can alter your ph to allow bacteria to over grow so using condoms can help. You can try using metrogel vaginally regularly for a few weeks/months to help keep the bv under control. sometimes using oral and vaginal flagyl at the same time can knock it out for a few months.
Avatar f tn I went to my gyno (first available appt) who inspected and thought that I may have a bacterial infection so I was prescribed Metrogel. An STD panel was run and everything was negative except for HSV1. I did not have a UTI. I used Metrogel vaginally once a day for 7 days. The burning subsided. About a week later I developed bilateral inner thigh pain 1/2 way between my groin and knee. That pain then turned into a strong burning sensation.
Avatar f tn I put Cetaphil Eczema calming cream on my face before putting on the Finacea and that has helped with the redness. But my skin still has been peeling. My triggers are hot temperature and not sure what else. I am allergic to Metrogel. I have Metrocream. I tested it on my arm and then face on the chin and didn't blow up like I did with Metrogel. But I also don't like the idea of having to use a low dose antibiotic and the side effects are not so good at least in the package insert.
Avatar f tn The NP precribed metrogel for 5 days at bedtime. I havent found the courage to take it yet, because its inserted vaginally. The warning states its a category B and can be passed through the placenta. Has anyone else taken metrogel during their pregnancy? If so wad everything ok?
1153266 tn?1262124135 I have been using this cream you apply to the redness called METROGEL i have been seeing dramatic results after just 3 days of using its amazing and has been definitely helping with this problem i definitely recommend using this try it!
Avatar m tn I was tested positive for HIV this February. I have been an occasional user of MDMA via syringe. I tested negative for Hepatitis B and C. During the first week of June, I suddenly came down with a fever which wouldn't go away. Later the doctors found a lesion on my liver, for which I was treated with Metronidazole (Metrogel) injections, and later metrogel tablets. Recent CT scan shows "a cystic lesion on the liver, measuring 4x3.5 cms with a smooth enhancing wall seen in segment IV.
Avatar f tn s the background. Recently I got this horrible burning, shortly after being treated for infections with metroGel & diflucan. The burning was relentless & severe with some itching as well. My current gynecologist diagnosed atrophic vaginitis & said that in the area that burns my skin is down to the blood capillaries with almost no protection, hence the burning.
Avatar f tn s own and is gone confirmed 2 times by doctor.I was given metrogel I used 1 dose and had difficulty breathing headache and tremors.so the doc said stop med. Then went to see a gyno specialist and she said same bv and she removed a polyp from cervix it was benign she also told me I tested positive for urea plasma all my other std test are negative.HIv neg.no chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomonosis all negative.she prescribed metrogel and doxycycline I tried the metro gel was taken off.
Avatar m tn Today my dermatologist recommend me to consider makeup to hide the redness, I did try, with the makeup everything looks well, but several hours later, after I took a shower, my face looks like a tomato, really terrible. I am not sure I will be able to continue with the treatment with this situation. I will so much appreciate any advice or experience.
