I've been using metrogel for a few months now for a place on my cheek. It's finally clearing up, but my entire face was scratched up today, including the area I typically treat with metrogel. Is the metrogel safe to use on fresh scratches and sores to continue treatment. If so, would it be good to also put the metrogel on my entire face to help with all the scratch marks?
If I do take a new antibiotic should I use metrogel at the same time? Also, as I said I have somewhat dry skin. Is it okay after I put the metrogel on, to put aloevera or light lotion on my face after the metrogel has dried? Or should I keep any lotion or aloe away from that eye while I use the metrogel? Like I said, the periocular dermatitis/rosacea is just under my right eye, nowhere else!! I need some professional help here so I can tell him "this is what a professional told me.
Hi everyone...Recently I have been having several problems with the skin on my face. Up until about a year ago I had absolutely flawless skin. I'm 22 years old and live in Florida and used to go tanning alot but stopped about a year and a half ago. It started when I went on the birth control-nuva ring for ovarian cysts about 5 months ago and recently changed to yaz and have seen no difference.
I do use Metrogel for Roseacea and when out of town for a wedding and had to share a bathroom with 9 people, rushed and forgot and put Metrogel on the area under my nose (never done that before) and might have gotten some on my lip in that area. That's been 2 weeks, tho. I was in the sun 3 of those days .....
I tried a search and came up with basal cell carcinoma and saw several places that said the lip is a VERY DANGEROUS spot to have BCC. That terrified me.
The NP precribed metrogel for 5 days at bedtime. I havent found the courage to take it yet, because its inserted vaginally. The warning states its a category B and can be passed through the placenta. Has anyone else taken metrogel during their pregnancy? If so wad everything ok?
I was tested positive for HIV this February. I have been an occasional user of MDMA via syringe. I tested negative for Hepatitis B and C. During the first week of June, I suddenly came down with a fever which wouldn't go away. Later the doctors found a lesion on my liver, for which I was treated with Metronidazole (Metrogel) injections, and later metrogel tablets. Recent CT scan shows "a cystic lesion on the liver, measuring 4x3.5 cms with a smooth enhancing wall seen in segment IV.
Was diognosed with urea plasma and bacterial vaginosis the bv cleared on it's own and is gone confirmed 2 times by doctor.I was given metrogel I used 1 dose and had difficulty breathing headache and tremors.so the doc said stop med.Then went to see a gyno specialist and she said same bv and she removed a polyp from cervix it was benign she also told me I tested positive for urea plasma all my other std test are negative.HIv neg.no chlamydia,gonorrhea, trichomonosis all negative.
I was wondering if it is possible to have eczema without the affected area getting red? I have had patches of dry flaky skin on my eyelids (upper and lower) for about a month now and I've been trying moisturizers and allergy medication with little help. First, could this truely be eczema and second how should it be treated when it occurs around the eyes.
I was prescribed a fluocinonide solution for a small patch on my face. Now that I have stopped it completely, small bumps have appeared where I was putting the topical solution. The doctor now prescribed Doxycyline for 1 month and Metrogel 1%. There has been improvement, but very slowly with 2 flare ups so far. It has been two weeks since I stopped the steroid completely.
Will it ever go away? Will my skin return to the way it was before the steroid use?
In mid-May 2011, I started experiencing typical yeast infection symptoms (clumpy white discharge and itching). A couple of days later, I started to develop a red rash in my inner thighs. This rash was not pimply, blistered, or significantly raised. I visited my GYN on Wednesday, 5/25 and he suspected an internal and external yeast infection. He prescribed a three-day course of vaginal anti-fungal cream, plus an anti-fungal and steroid cream for the affected skin.
Also, she was on Metrogel and she was allergic to it and it gave her second degree burns. She has healed from that but wonders if there are any prolonged affects of a problem like that. Lastly, she was on a steroid (diprolene) for years for the face (lupus). After the bad burns from the Metrogel, and it healed the dermatologist took her off of the steroid cold turkey and said to just use certain creams until the breakouts from the steroid went away.
hello i have some white dots on my eyelids. people have told me it was because i use the computer too often. i would like to find out why i have these small white dots on my eyelids. i have two on the upper eyelid right in the corner and they get itchy sometimes. i dont scratch them tho they do get fairly annoying. people have told me it is a sty and it will go away soon but ive had it for like a year now. HELP.
I have a yeast infection might start my period soon and im on Fluconazole and metronidazole (2 pills 72 hours apart and metrogel for 5 days once every bed time) yesterday was my first day on pill and gel and today i notiched like this blood like little clumps nothing like discharge i want to know if its normal ?
Please I am desperate!!!! I have had this for 2 years already. I get these small red pimples around my nose and in my chin that burns don't know what to do. The doctors think is rosecea but I have been using metrogel and it doesn't seem to work if I put cortisone I get more of those small little pimples. I hate to have the pimples but i hate even more that are red and that they burn.
Itchy, flaky, red (and puffy) skin in patches around my eyelids, on/in my ears and on my nipples and even at the corner of my mouth that, at the most severe, was very painful and would crack and bleed (did not notice anything around the groin). I became incredibly frustrated, with my eyes looking so bad and hurting so much it was a mission just to leave the house. I went to a doctor who prescribed a Betnesol cream. Within a day the condition was markedly better.
Ive been noticing my friend's eyes have grayish colored areas on the scleras, mostly underneath her eyelids. There isn't much of anything too close to the iris, but you can clearly see the gray areas when she rolls her eyes around or if you look under her eyelids. I first noticed them about a month ago, and they're still there. However, she doesn't complain about any pain, vision problems, or anything like that.
what specialist treats dermatomyositis/heliotrope of the eyelids, is it rheumatology or dermatology (sp)?
No temporary cure the best is the latest Clindesse 2% vaginal cream, single dose x 1 and that's it. Other options metrogel x 5 days, or po flagyl.
I have had for the past 2 years small red bumps on my face in top of my nose, cheeks, around the nose, forehead, etc...I get red but not as much like other people. I used Elidel for 11/2 years and it worked great now I had to stop because of fear that it causes cancer. I have been using metrogel for 8 days but at first it was great and now my pimples are starting to come out again is that part of the process???
