Avatar f tn I have seen improvement but am still not 100 percent clear, about 98 percent clear I would say. How long do I need to continue to use the metrogel to keep the dermatitis away for good? 2 months? Not sure how long I should use it. Also, I was on doxycycline however it upsets my stomach (with or without food) so I have to call my doctor on monday to try a different antibiotic. Anything you reccomend as far as an antibiotic?
Avatar f tn s finally clearing up, but my entire face was scratched up today, including the area I typically treat with metrogel. Is the metrogel safe to use on fresh scratches and sores to continue treatment. If so, would it be good to also put the metrogel on my entire face to help with all the scratch marks?

Avatar f tn I bought plain yogurt and mixed it with acidophillous powder and inserting it using a metrogel applicator at night, I always wear a liner because of bv anyway, but there is a LOT of discharge. Am I doing this right? has anyone else had good results with this method? how long should it take for symptoms to go away. I shower before and wash with soap but should I use something stronger like hydrogen peroxide???
Avatar f tn When I get out of the shower or overheated, I have a pink spot on the skin just above my upper lip, touching the lip line. It's approx. 2 cm long by 1/4th cm high. There's also a tingling sensation at times. The skin there looks slightly different but I'm 62 and have had age spots burned off in my hairline, etc. I am female, never smoked, don't drink and have never had a cold sore or tested positive for HPV. I do not sunbathe but grew up in the south.
Avatar f tn In my opinion, it would be safer to take a category b drug than to continue to have a bacterial infection. Bacterial infections can cause preterm labor as well as other symptoms. Tylenol and many other drugs are class b drugs and they are deemed safe. I would do what your doctor says asap. I don't have personal experience with this buy just my thoughts on the matter. Good luck and get well.
Avatar f tn Have seen two dermatologists so far but the condition did not improve. He was given topical metrogel 1% which did not work and the 2nd dermatologist put him on antibiotics for 3 months! nothing worked and wondering what other options he has.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Obviously leprosy is a distasteful diagnosis, but I broke it to him gently and told him how we were going to treat it. I referred him to a friend, a Cuban dermatologist, who could speak his language and who had a small group of lepers he treated. So many potentially deadly mistakes. Scary stuff. Almost midnight here. I'm going to watch some TV, snuggle with my beautiful wife, and get a good night's sleep.

Avatar f tn I am wondering how long it takes Fludrocortisone to work. I have been taking 1/2 of a .1 mg tablet twice a day for a couple of weeks. Avatar m tn I was tested positive for HIV this February. I have been an occasional user of MDMA via syringe. I tested negative for Hepatitis B and C. During the first week of June, I suddenly came down with a fever which wouldn't go away. Later the doctors found a lesion on my liver, for which I was treated with Metronidazole (Metrogel) injections, and later metrogel tablets. Recent CT scan shows "a cystic lesion on the liver, measuring 4x3.5 cms with a smooth enhancing wall seen in segment IV.
Avatar f tn There is good logic in taking a child off the pill to see how they cope. There are many kids with ADHD that have learned how to cope and can go off medication. Of course, it all depends on how severely they are affected, and how old they are, what their needs are, etc. The main thing is that the children have to be trained how to cope. Just taking them off to see what happens is not helping them too much. Even though adderall is out of the system fairly quickly.
