metrogel

Avatar n tn I have been treated in the past with dry ice treatmtents. Recently I have been prescribed Minocin, and Metrogel. The metrogel seems to burn my skin. Does laser work for Rosacea? It is $1,800 for the treatment. I am 54 years old and recently had my thyroid removed due to cancer. Could my Synthroid meds be aggravating this condition. Could these blisters be facial herpes, shingles. I have had this for about 6 months. I can't get into a dermatologist until September. Help!
Avatar f tn I've been using metrogel for a few months now for a place on my cheek. It's finally clearing up, but my entire face was scratched up today, including the area I typically treat with metrogel. Is the metrogel safe to use on fresh scratches and sores to continue treatment. If so, would it be good to also put the metrogel on my entire face to help with all the scratch marks?
Avatar f tn My doctor perscribed me Metrogel 0.75. I have been using it since Jan 18th 2010 (last month). For the most part I have been clear, however I still see some LIGHT red areas like they are fading away. Have I not used it long enough? BUT, I cleaned the house yesterday, and now today I have a larger red area in the corner of my eye..probably from sweating? My doctor reccommended I take Doxycycline 100mg, accept I took two pills and had total stomach pain -with or without food! My question is.
Avatar n tn Minocycline, Metrogel, Prosacea, Eurax, Loprox, Tea Tree Ointment, Econazole, Clotrimazole, Ketoconazole 1%, Selsun Blue, Lotrimin Ultra, Finacea, oral Diflucan, an assortment of vitamins and supplements, natural and alternative medicine. I have this theory that my body is attacking my chin area's skin cells, therefore breaking down my skin barrier or turning cell turnover too rapidly, which may make the cells clump up in my pores. How do I get to the gist of it and stop it?
Avatar f tn The NP precribed metrogel for 5 days at bedtime. I havent found the courage to take it yet, because its inserted vaginally. The warning states its a category B and can be passed through the placenta. Has anyone else taken metrogel during their pregnancy? If so wad everything ok?
Avatar n tn My family practice doctor has prescribed metrogel for rosacea. After reading about rosacea, I am thinking it might not be rosacea. I do not have any rash or bumps, just little veins filled with blood. I am a male in my early 50s, I do not drink alcohol or smoke. I drink only one cup of coffee a day. There doesn't seem to be a time it is better or worse. I just seem to get more red with each subsequent year. Any idea what this could be? Do you think it is a form of rosacea?
Avatar n tn I have been researching and seen that a tablet called Clonidine can help stop facial blushing. Does it help blushing? And should I give it a try?
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your kind and informative answers to my questions. I have stopped the steroid and will see a dermatologist as soon as possible.
Avatar m tn I was tested positive for HIV this February. I have been an occasional user of MDMA via syringe. I tested negative for Hepatitis B and C. During the first week of June, I suddenly came down with a fever which wouldn't go away. Later the doctors found a lesion on my liver, for which I was treated with Metronidazole (Metrogel) injections, and later metrogel tablets. Recent CT scan shows "a cystic lesion on the liver, measuring 4x3.5 cms with a smooth enhancing wall seen in segment IV.
Avatar f tn My triggers are hot temperature and not sure what else. I am allergic to Metrogel. I have Metrocream. I tested it on my arm and then face on the chin and didn't blow up like I did with Metrogel. But I also don't like the idea of having to use a low dose antibiotic and the side effects are not so good at least in the package insert. Is there anything else I can do? I don't really put much cream on my face except when I use the Finacea. I don't like the feeling of goo on my face.

Avatar m tn Mornings: Wash face with Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, followed with a Clindamycin (antibiotic) solution followed by either Cetaphil Moisturizer and then a sunscreen (summer) or Cetaphil Moisturizer with built-in sunscreen (winter). Evenings: Wash face with Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser followed by Metrogel 1% or "Sodium Sulfacetamide1%and Sulfur 5% Lotion" on alternate evenings. Often I replace the Sodium Sulfacetamide with OTC Rezamid lotion.
Avatar f tn When I get out of the shower or overheated, I have a pink spot on the skin just above my upper lip, touching the lip line. It's approx. 2 cm long by 1/4th cm high. There's also a tingling sensation at times. The skin there looks slightly different but I'm 62 and have had age spots burned off in my hairline, etc. I am female, never smoked, don't drink and have never had a cold sore or tested positive for HPV. I do not sunbathe but grew up in the south.
Avatar f tn is this a bad case of rosacea i have no facial flushing in that area.? is this eczema or some form of dermatitis. normal emollient creams are not moisturising enough and i find only lanolin will take the dryness away. at first i thought it was rosacea as i have had this in the same area but metrogel did not work to get rid of this. i then tried hydracortisone 1% and this takes some inflammation down but is not clearing it.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone...Recently I have been having several problems with the skin on my face. Up until about a year ago I had absolutely flawless skin. I'm 22 years old and live in Florida and used to go tanning alot but stopped about a year and a half ago. It started when I went on the birth control-nuva ring for ovarian cysts about 5 months ago and recently changed to yaz and have seen no difference.
Avatar f tn The doctor now prescribed Doxycyline for 1 month and Metrogel 1%. There has been improvement, but very slowly with 2 flare ups so far. It has been two weeks since I stopped the steroid completely. Will it ever go away? Will my skin return to the way it was before the steroid use? (I never had rosacea before) Thank you in advance.
Avatar f tn Also, she was on Metrogel and she was allergic to it and it gave her second degree burns. She has healed from that but wonders if there are any prolonged affects of a problem like that. Lastly, she was on a steroid (diprolene) for years for the face (lupus). After the bad burns from the Metrogel, and it healed the dermatologist took her off of the steroid cold turkey and said to just use certain creams until the breakouts from the steroid went away.

Avatar n tn No temporary cure the best is the latest Clindesse 2% vaginal cream, single dose x 1 and that's it. Other options metrogel x 5 days, or po flagyl.
Avatar f tn m 8 weeks I recently went to the doctors and found out I have a bacteria and the dr prescribed me metrogel vaginal. Have any of you guys taken or are are taking this medication? Have you ever experienced any side effects? Any information helps.
Avatar f tn m asking because I have recurrent bacterial vaginosis infections - i have tried metrogel, flagyll tindamax, clindesse, i have it again.. I bought plain yogurt and mixed it with acidophillous powder and inserting it using a metrogel applicator at night, I always wear a liner because of bv anyway, but there is a LOT of discharge. Am I doing this right? has anyone else had good results with this method? how long should it take for symptoms to go away.
Avatar n tn In the beginning of May I experinced some usual vaginal discharge and itchiness and I went to the doctor and I was told I had Bacterial Vaginosis and was given Metrogel 0.
Avatar m tn Last Feburary, I decided to go and see a dematologist for some dry skin/facial redness that I was having. The dermatologist wanted to try some metrogel first to see if my problems would clear up. after a few weeks, I went back for a checkup and my skin was about the same, if not a little worse than before. Since that didn't work, they wanted to try a fairly new ointment called protopic. Since it is an expensive medication, they gave me a sample to try and sent me home.
