Avatar m tn But I did have some exotic fish who I did develop a personal relationship with in that they would do certain antics. recognize who fed them and who didn't. And make certain types of noise to let me know I was behind on a water change. Trust me, exotic and not your everday variety. My main interest in the fish was that I love dogs but it was the best I could do in an apartment. The fire fighters assured me that if my fish were alive, they would do everything they could to protect life.
Avatar f tn ) with a visual trigger (seeing the “wheel” on “The Price is Right” triggers the smell--I know, weird), strange tastes (citrus-like, metallic) that come and go randomly, and the weirdest of all—a “fizzing” sound and sensation in the back of my neck, lasting between 15 seconds and 2 minutes, and which happens both at random times, and oddly enough, when I’m hungry . I have no idea what causes these strange things, and the doctors that I have been brave enough to tell, have dismissed them.

Avatar n tn She wore a 24 hour heart monitor and our general practioner said it reported over 800 pvcs in that 24 hour period. He prescribed metoprolol tartr 25 mg 2x a day and scheduled her to see a cardiologist next week. I have a few questions... 1) Is this perscription necessary before she is seen by a cardioloigist (I understand it is used to decrease the number of pvc's) 2). What would be considered a dangerouse number of pvc's over a 24 hour period? 3).
18663 tn?1198175415 Hello Jack, This is a very good question. There are many medications that are ototoxic to our ears causing hearing loss and tinnitus, some have permanent effects while others have side effects only while taking the medication. On your particular list, Asprin stands out the most. Asprin does cause hearing los & tinnitus as do most of the NSAIDS (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs).
8958586 tn?1481364312 I have been struggling with side affects from bulimia & anorexia for over 20 years, and the last few years have been the toughest. I have bi weekly blood work, and recently I noticed (among many other abnormalities) that my CRP-hs is higher than its ever been. In fact this time is the first time its been marked on the paperwork as abnormal. The result is 18.49 MG/L and the reference range is 0 - 8.0 and its flagged as high.

Avatar f tn Anti-microbial drugs (antibiotics) that contain fluoroquinolones, such as Avelox, Cipro and Levaquin, have warnings because they can increase the risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture, especially in patients over 60 years old. Beta blockers like Atenolol, Metoprolol, Nadolol and Propronolol have a black box warning for patients to be supervised by a physician while discontinuing use of these drugs. Withdrawal can cause severe exacerbation of angina and myocardial infarction.
Avatar f tn I went to the ER and they didn't seem very concerned, other than my BP which peaked at 179/98 (probably from worrying about the PVCs). They prescribed Metoprolol and I have taken it every day. My BP is now in the normal range, but the PVCs continue unaffected by the meds. For the past several days, I have had a very dull headache and some slight dizziness in addition to the constant PVCs. I'm just wondering if anyone else has these additional symptoms.
Avatar n tn I am a 36 year old male and had an aortic dissection 2 years ago. Since then, I am on a high dose of blood pressure medicine. I take 300 mg of metoprolol, and 10 mg of norvasc. I have had these eye episodes a couple times in the last 2 years since my surgery. My thought is that it may be due to a sudden drop in blood pressure. The last time I had an episode (just yesterday), I checked my blood pressure and my bottom number was 50. It may have been lower when the actual incident took place.
