Avatar f tn Hello I'm new on here I've been feeling awful for a week now so hopefully somebody has some advice As a bit of a background For the past few years I've been able to feel my heart beating when I don't get enough sleep for about 30 minutes after I eat & sometimes when I stand up or walk too quickly mostly in my neck sometimes in my stomach & under my left breast just where my rib is.
Avatar f tn My boyfriend is 28 years old has a history of mild asthma (has been asymptomatic for many years), ectopic heart beats (prescribed low doseof metoprolol daily and vit D as he is deficient), mild hypertension (monitoring only-no treatment at present) and is a smoker. Within the last four months he has been troubled by a persistent feeling of having a lump or mucus to clear in his throat. This sensation is there most of the time but worsens in the evening and night.....
Avatar n tn I do think it is due to the Metroprol to Metoprolol Tartrate issue or the combination or both Zoloft and Metoprolol. Both medication's class are known to give a metallic taste in the mouth. If the metallic taste was not present prior switching from Metroprol to Metoprolol Tartrate then i think we can rule out Zoloft as giving the symptoms. I'm not a doctor but if the symptoms persist try switching back to Metroprol. If it goes away then we have a winner.
Avatar n tn The most common cause of a severe tickle in your throat is postnasal drip. Another is hyperreactivity of the upper airways. Usually this happens along with chronic inflammation. A trial of a mild topical anesthetic or an inhaled steroid might be helpful.
Avatar n tn They did many ECG's, gave me aspirin, took several chest x-rays during the course of the night, took blood work, put on a nitro patch, gave me 3 sprays of nitro and then the nitro drip along with Plavix and Metroprinol something and Heparin. I was also admitted to CCU and the next day sent for an angiogram. Luckily the angiogram was good, showing clear arteries but mild disease and ventricular changes. I was released from the hospital with a prescription for Pantaloc.
Avatar n tn Spicy and rich foods, allergies (post nasal drip), smoky or dusty areas, coffee, chocolate, and stress all can cause issues with my heart rythm. Over the years I have had two diagnoses which seem relevant. These are spasms of the esophagus and GIRD. I like my current GP, and he told me at my last annual physical that if i get too frustrated, he could prescribe meds to take care of the PVCs. I started taking Nexium when my current episode started about a week ago.
Avatar f tn It lasted for 10 mins and it started to occur more frequently and became worse. My doctor put me on atenerol and metoprolol but these medications made me feel very weak and tired and my anxiety was very bad at night that I would wake up every hour because I was scared and I would sweat. He finally put me on a medication that I can tolerate which is propranolol. It was working good but my anxiety was still the same.
Avatar n tn I'm scheduled to go back in mid-Dec to discuss the medications I'm taking for blood pressure and possibly stopping some of them (metoprolol, diltiazem,minoxidil,traim/hctz,diovan and clonidin and wel chol)blood pressure is currently running in the(140's/70-80's)cholesterol,(done on 10/23) tri-365 tot-321 LDL-195 HDL-53 chol/HDLC-6.06 unable to take statins. Quetions: Are spasms somthing I should be concerned about, what causes them, a little info please?
Avatar n tn They repeated the Troponin (heart enzyme) 5 hours later after placing me on a Heparin Drip and Sodium Drip. The Troponin was 4.8 which is high...meaning I had a heart event of some sort. Heart Cath ordered and a stent was placed for a 60% blockage in the LAD. (hard to believe I had a new blockage) They sent me home with Plavix and aspirin and Sotolol (which I just got off of) and told me that I could not be on Coumadin as I was on Plavix and one cannot be on both at the same time.
612551 tn?1450025775 If your not sweating you body is not cooling its self properly during exercise. Athletes with low heart rate still sweat prety bad they drip with sweat. I'd be seriously asking your self if your drinking enough and if thats a yes then why don't I sweat much.
1455613 tn?1285333609 I was recently diagnosed with A Fib, and hospitalized for 3 days during from the episode, which had to be broken with a push of cardizem and then an IV drip of cardizem for a couple of hours. They monitored me at the hospital, and then sent me home on Plavix, because I am highly allergic to aspirin. Since then I have been back to the ER one time for another episode, and they sent me home as soon as I went back into Sinus Rhythm.
Avatar m tn I'm a 60 year old man with type 2 diabetes in fair control with metformin and Lantus, a bit of hypertension, good lipid profiles, good metabolic panels, no manifest symptoms compromising my quality of life...except for bouts of SVT that take me to the ER about every 1-3 months for a hit of adenosine to convert the rhythm. Every time I go to the ER they fuss at me to get an ablation, but frankly, I've just been scared about the (admittedly low) risks...
Avatar m tn There seems to be debate among docs on how much hormone levels effect us but almost every woman who posts on here says they have increases in their crazy beats during periods and menopause. I'm currently taking metoprolol 25 twice a day and it seems to have helped with the SVT, not much help with the PVC or PAC. and yes mild verification is normal... unfortunately another thing that comes with age. Also I've had days where every other beat was a PVC or PAC. Very annoying!
Avatar n tn I had been on Toprol for 2 weeks, but doctor determined I should take Verapamil now, since I have had some asthmatic type breathing symptoms for nearly a year (connected with esophageal reflux and post nasal drip) and Toprol could interfere with lungs. I am scheduled for an angiogram next Thursday to check for blockages. Basically in good health, never had heart problems before. Heart history: my 96 yr. old mother had pacemaker put in after heart attack 4 years ago.
Avatar n tn I take Metoprolol and Xanax but nothing makes it stop. I feel your pain. I wish I knew a magic trick to cure it for everyone. It is so aggravating. Good luck.
612551 tn?1450025775 30 PM, so by 1:30 AM I am still in the fully medicated area of the BB concentration (half life of 4 hours assumed). Early in the morning (around 2 AM) I found my fully relaxed in bed HR as low as upper 50s and O2 levels as low as 90%. Later in the morning (around 5 or 6 AM) I found my HR around 70, suggesting the BB had lost a considerable % of its strength (now in its 2nd half live, about 75% metabolized) and the O2 levels over 95%.
Avatar n tn I had bad luck with the 3 holters, only a few of them appeared, and they said something about bigeminism, gave me all sorts of calmants like xanax, and the last one prescripted rythmonorm and metoprolol-for 2 years,but..no efects.I am no anxious type.I don't know what to do anymore.Check if you have this disease ,hiatal hernia,i heard it's an easy surgical intervention.I cannot have an surgical intervention if i don't proove on holter that i have ..
Avatar f tn With 3 doses of Adenosine and a Diltiazem push and drip the doctor could not get my heart to stay slowed down. The Adenosine slowed it for a matter of seconds and it shot right back up again. The ER doctor was ready to shock my heart to cardio-convert me but I was too scared to get that done by a non-cardiologist. I was transferred to another hospital and the cardiologist told me I was also going into atrial flutter.
Avatar m tn I don't know if it is caused by the pain meds, the anesthesia, or what (one article blames the hallucinations on a common drug called Metoprolol). I don't know but somebody in the medical field needs to do some serious research around this and raise the awareness level of the medical community. The most horrible part were the two days of hallucinations. The second most horrible part was not being taken seriously by the medical personnel attending to me.
Avatar n tn I was treated with IV metoprolol for the high blood pressure and heartrate and given ativan to help keep me relaxed while we waited it out. I also had hyperreflexia as well. later that night it happened again not as severe and the ativan was repeated. By the next morning I was feeling better, however when I walked or do little activity my heartrate would increase to 120's. It remained like that for about a week. over the course of the next 3-4 weeks I still had that anxiousnedd in my chest.
Avatar n tn Pvc's L Treatement: Waht do you think of Inderal as a drip in the hospital for a patient who had a increase in pvc's from 3 per minute ? What about Rithmol does this only work on a racing heart ? Ablation was mentione is that is laymen terms when then jump start the heart as the nurse said to calm in down or put back on track. So scary We are talking about the engine to our body. With an increase in pvc's ond over all health it is hard to handle.
4939681 tn?1361302899 Muscle twitches, weakness, muscles just will not relax no matter what I do, bubble in chest causing pain, constant nasal drip, painful skin like I have the flu/ sunburn, sore throat, squeezing sensation in the abdomen that goes all the way up the esophagus, in the jaw and inner ear., headache, heart skipping a beat/ pausing, low blood pressure, dizziness, brain fog, nausea and vomiting (not often), ringing in ear. Being on my feet causes a full body ache.
Avatar n tn I had an ABlation Procedure done on January 26, 2010 & since then I have had several A-Fib episodes one which lasted from last Friday 2/5 @ 8:30 pm until Monday 2/8 when I went into NSR @ 11:20am. I went to ER on Sunday night as I was getting real dizzy & my blood pressure seemed to be getting lower & lower. They put me on an Amiodarone IV drip kept me until Tuesday morning & during my stay gave me Amiodarone orally, digoxin which I am still taking.
Avatar n tn I told him I would rather wait but the pills do not help the pain at all. I am on Diovan for heart and Metoprolol also Levothyroxin for Thyroid. I can not believe there is so many of us with it and can not find out what it is. Please keep us posted if any results.
Avatar f tn He hasn't had any more VTs and the medication he's on just now seems to be suiting him - but - as usual, they want to switch him back on to Bisoprolol Sulfanate which caused the problem last weekend. He's currently on Metoprolol which seems to agree better with him. He said last night he was going to refuse to take the Bisoprolol.
Avatar n tn When it gets to this point, the best action for me to take is chewing a Gas-X tablet along with half of a 25mg Metoprolol tablet. There is no doubt in my mind that the gas is the cause of my AFIB episodes. There is also no doubt in my mind that what is causing all my problems is known as "Roemheld Syndrome" - - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roemheld_syndrome.
