10592317 tn?1416534566 I found out two weeks ago that I have gallstones. Yesterday I was prescribed pain meds and a muscle relaxer. I took the muscle relaxer and I got really sick from it. Throwing up, dizziness, nausea, blurred vision, fatigue, shakes, weak. Well I went to bed hours later and woke up feeling panicky. I felt very sick, shaking, weak like I'm going to pass out. I figured the muscle relaxer would have worn off by now because it says take every 6 hours and I never took it again.
1243543 tn?1269124022 flexeril (I believe it's the same thing your dr gave you) is a good muscle relaxer. I haven't had too many wierd side effects other than the sleepiness and since it is not time released you can cut it in half if you need. I'd suggest taking the 1/2 and if it doesn't work take a whole 10mg thing and see if it helps. Flexeril helps me better than the other similar strength stuff so I try to take it at night and then again first thing in the morning.
676302 tn?1237863491 Hello and welcome, There are quite a few muscle relaxers out there that work very well for fibro. In my experience I have found Soma to be helpful as well as Skelaxin. I would have a talk with your doctor and see what he/she suggests. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn Although, sometimes I feel like I have all the symptoms of ms. Anyway, day 3 of the new muscle relaxer, Tizanidine and it really helps me sleep. I'm not really sure if my body feels any better, yet. But, it def knocks you out. I would not drive on this and I seem to have a high tolerance for meds. I keep people informed on this drug has it starts to really kick in.....I hope. Thanks again!
Avatar f tn Now 3 weeks later she wants to try the new coctail of celebrex and muscle relaxer. Tried the muscle relaxer the first night seemed to take a little of the night time pain away not much. The next day i seemed very emotional and shaky and thought maybe I was having withdraw from the xanax since I took it for 3 weeks straigt. Doctor said no not for that short lenght of time.
Avatar m tn ve taken Norco for a long time, I think I need to add a muscle relaxer to my pain man. regimen. Is Soma a muscle relaxer or a narcotic? I've taken Skelaxin but it takes several doses over a period of a few days to get relief. I would like something that works a little faster.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Flexeril (a muscle relaxer) today for my back pain. I am 37 weeks. Has anyone else taken muscle relaxers and did you have any issues with it?
402205 tn?1230481005 I will try to avoid them right now tho because they make me sluggish and I am already fatigued with my cut in dose of hydrocodne..anything can be abused...skelaxin is a fairly safe muscle relaxer.....
1325193 tn?1450127436 put me on flexirill (sorry for the misspelling) its a muscle relaxer. Anyway, I have been taking Lexapro for GAD and was wondering if I was hurting myself by taking this. I have only taken 2 and while it does help with the pain, I am starting to have some signs of anxiety again. Anyone have any thoughts???
Avatar f tn His doctor didn't prescribe it for him. The label is torn off and obviously not his prescription. Yes, I know it's a muscle relaxer, but he's taking suboxone. I have no idea if this medication (SOMA) affects suboxone. I took the pills and hid them.
217599 tn?1202850952 Does anyone know anything about the muscle relaxer, Robaxin? my dr. prescribed it for me, and like all others the dr's prescribe now, i like to ask in here if it has any addictive tendencies.
Avatar f tn No I didnt want to take any pain meds, try a hot water bottle, or a warm bath first if it doesnt help then speak to your doc about what is safe!
Avatar f tn doctor gave me an extra boost in fluids which helped a little bit but he also gave me a pill they called a muscle relaxer...all it did was knock me out cold four several hours!! I'm grateful for the sleep don't get me wrong. But today they are coming back. I'm so nervous that I'm cleaning and organizing like crazy. My leg hurts again but not swollen, thank God....here is the question. What was the freaking point of the muscle relaxer!?
Avatar m tn I have had good luck in the past with a muscle relaxer by the name of Soma (caristoprodol) (spelling). Also valium is great for the spasms too.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome to the forum.. If you could tell us what kind of muscle relaxer you are trying to get off we can better help you.. We do loose sleep when coming off those as we have slept quit a bit lately.. the acidic stomach with getting sick that is bad.. we feel sick for sure.. But this passes in a few days.. If you are worried about a seizure.. that would depend on how many and how long you have taken them.. wd from this type of med last a few days but the lack of sleep is the longest..
Avatar f tn well i slowly stopped them gradually, the muscle relaxer, the morphine, i only took one 30 mg throughout the whole pregnancy. and yes i was prescribed the muscle relaxer before my pregnancy, was still getting them but since i was pregnant and there wasn't much information on the drug they said that in their opinion i should stop taking it. So technically i had only been taking the muscle relaxer. and i just started taking it again 2 weeks ago cuz the spasms were unbearable.
Avatar m tn Is it a prescibed cream? If not check with your doctor first, as with any new medication-even over the counter items. /i have tried some creams like ben-gay and things like that, but they only helped minimally.
1263062 tn?1289450701 I am not a Doctor but I took Soma for five years and did not become dependent. I know a lot of fellow back pain sufferers who use it and get good relief. One has to function with chronic pain as best you can and only you know your body. The fact that you say "you like them too much" to me says that you are not an addict type. But that's just me. It sounds like you are aware of you strengths and weaknesses.
1253246 tn?1332073310 Not everything is related to hepC even though we think it is or want it to be to explain it away. Muscle aches don't sound like a symptomof helpc really to me and certainly if you aren't very late staged I would think it's really probably something else especially since you aren't even on treatment. What stage did your biopsy come back (sorry I can never remember everybody's info like some people can).
Avatar f tn Anyways, it seems that my arm pain has lessened and is happening less frequently, as well as the upper back. I am taking Flexeril for it, which is a muscle relaxer. Anyways, my question is this: If the arm pain was actually related to some underlying heart issue, do you think taking Flexeril would make a difference in the arm pain? Meaning would the pill help the arm, even though it's refferred pain from the heart.
Avatar n tn this is a question you really need to ask your doctor or pharmacist to get an accurate answer, most pharma's do a cross check before filling a new script and would tell you, did the same doctor prescribe both meds? I can say I've been on neurontin for many years and I also take a muscle relaxer at times but its not tizadine its flexeril....
2063887 tn?1337829746 Recently I've been having all sorts of muscle cramps in my legs and lots of spasticity in my hips. I've read that it can be a side effect of Tysabri. I've been really careful about my diet and supplements to make sure I'm getting the nutrition I need. I've also been stretching like crazy and sometimes it helps, but sometimes it causes the muscles to cramp immediately.
Avatar m tn I was told it was a muscle spasm and prescribed a muscle relaxer. The past Tuesday night, I started experiencing that pain again and took a muscle relaxer thinking it would help. Well it did not help and the pain did not go away til the next day. I have started experiencing that pain again today, what could this be?
2069693 tn?1331365365 They tried every migraine med, pain med, they could think of and then realized i was having a bad tension headache and all of the migraine meds were actually making it worse, something about making the muscles more ridged. anyway they finally gave me a muscle relaxer and lots of pheneragan, cuz doc also said sometimes the only way to break the cycle of these damn things is with sleep....... i was going to tell you to try the ibuprofen, aspirin, an caffeine thing but seems like you already have.
