Avatar f tn For the majority of women, a shorter-than-average menstrual period is no cause for concern. As women age, their cycles regulate and the days of bleeding may shorten. It's not uncommon for women to have periods lasting only a couple of days. Women who are worried about the decrease in the number of days on their menstrual period should consult their physician. lifestyle of the woman. Stress from work or relationships may cause the bleeding to become more severe or stop sooner than normal.
570004 tn?1226980196 Over the past several months (since about July – a month or two after I started on levothyroxine) I've noticed that my menstrual cycle is about a week shorter than it used to be. It was about 36 days before, but now it seems to be about 28 days at most - if anything it's getting shorter; not going back to the way it was before. Does anyone know if this is normal / related to hypothyroidism? I am 31 years old. Thank you.
Avatar f tn The last day of your cycle is the day before your next menstrual period starts. The average cycle length is considered 28 days, but many women have longer or shorter cycles and it's fine. The average women ovulates approximately 14 days before the start of her period, but again, that is certainly not carved in stone. The time between your ovulation and period is referred to as a luteal phase. Hope that helps.
Avatar m tn Well the cycle stopped right after Thanksgiving and this is the second cycle that has started since then in less than a month :-(
Avatar f tn (Count the first day of your menstrual period as the first day of your cycle). The luteal phase is almost always exactly 14 days. It actually sounds like your cycles are pretty normal. Good luck!
1486020 tn?1354028475 maybe it wasn't you'r actual period. was it heavier then spotting. before i got pregnant. i wasn't on birth control but sometimes during my menstrual cycle. i wouldn't have clots it would be shorter and light in color. maybe you'r body is just flushed out. i really have no insight sorry.
Avatar n tn Yes, your period can be longer one month and shorter the next. This is not uncommon. Not every woman has a cycle that is like clockwork. Nothing to worry about.
Avatar f tn I spotted for two days very lightly on January 15 and then in February nothing so with that count as a menstrual cycle.? Even though this is my fourth pregnancy I'm still so confused on everything because I always miscarried before the end of my third trimester.
Avatar n tn If u finished ur period today and tomorrow u have unprotected sex, then ur possibilities of pregnancy are very slim. Women need to ovulate in order to get pregnant. A woman's monthly cycle is measured from the first day of her menstrual period until the first day of her next period. On average, a woman's cycle normally is between 28-32 days, but some women may have much shorter cycles or much longer ones.
Avatar f tn After a miscarriage will have have a period after 4-6 weeks. Has this happened??? Mine period came after 24 days and it was a much ligher/shorter period cycle and now it's more heavier, but it's still within the normal range. I would see ur doctor if ur concerned.
1459828 tn?1287060343 t sure when to start the strips where I had a miscarriage in December this was my first menstrual cycle since then. Any advice or suggestions?
Avatar n tn Can a shorter menstrual cycle mean pregnancy? My period usually last 5 to 6 days. I have been a little off track for a few months for example I either start every 30 days or 32 days, this time it was 32 days. I had a little heavier than normal for the first day and then when the 2nd day was about over it slowed down. Now the third day I am just spotting? Can this mean I became pregnant before my period started?
Avatar f tn Thank you and hes not rough with me just when i get hugs they are tender and do you know if lack of sleep affects the hormone balance of the menstrual cycle as for being possibly shorter?
Avatar f tn If its an early ultrasound usually the ultrasound bc it bases it on the size and development of the baby. The date of your last menstrual cycle doesn't take into account fluctuations that may have occurred in your ovulation and it's also based on the average cycle not taking into account women with longer or shorter cycles.
Avatar f tn I have been having my menstrual cycle for over a month now and it's starting to smell like metal or iron. I also have this pain on my right side. It's not a heavy flow but it's messing with my lifestyle. What should I do?
Avatar n tn You count the length of your cycle from the first day of your last period to the first day of your next period. The length of your mentration does not calculate. Once you know the average length of your cycle, you can find out when you are supposed to O.
